Fortnite Reveals New 50 vs 50 Mode for Battle Royale

Revealed during The Game Awards, a new 50 versus 50 mode is now available for a limited time for Fortnite Battle Royale. The mode will be available through Sunday, December 17.

The mode is a last-team standing battle scenario with two teams of 50 each duking it out on a massive scale. Check out the reveal trailer below.

Alongside the announcement of the 50 versus 50 mode, Epic Games confirmed Fortnite has seen 30 million players since its July launch, having recently hit a new peak of 1.3 million concurrent users over this past weekend.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild Story DLC Is Available Tonight

Nintendo has announced that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s The Champions’ Ballad DLC will be released on December 7.

During The Game Awards 2017, a new trailer for The Champions' Ballad revealed several new costumes for Link, new Shrines, information on the story, and a new motorcycle called the Master Cycle Zero that Link can get after "overcoming all the challenges in the DLC."

Nintendo announced a Breath of the Wild Season Pass at the beginning of this year, promising a “Trials” challenged followed by a story expansion. The challenge was released as the Master Trials DLC back in July, and the story DLC received Champions’ Ballad as its official title at E3 this year.

In the Valley of the Gods Announced From Firewatch Dev

In the Valley of the Gods is the next game from Campo Santo, the studio behind 2016’s Firewatch. The first-person adventure game is set for release in 2019 on PC, but much like Firewatch, the team is interested in bringing it to consoles.

Announced during the 2017 Game Awards, In the Valley of the Gods is set in Egypt during the late 1920s. It stars Rashida and Zora, a pair of documentary filmmakers who accidentally made it big with a hit movie (think Nanook of the North), but have since seen their careers go off a cliff. They reunite years later after receiving information about the lost Tomb of Nefertiti, with a goal of reigniting their careers by documenting their trip to Egypt.

Vacation Simulator Announced

Owlchemy Labs has unveiled Vacation Simulator, a VR game that sees you picking up crabs and eating hot dogs on an island.

Announced at The Game Awards, Vacation Simulator is set on Vacation Island. Owlchemy Labs, which previously made Job Simulator as well as Rick and Morty: Vitual Rick-ality, says the game is about recreation, relaxation and sunburn.

Vacation Simulator will come out in 2018 on Vive, Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR.

Accounting+ Announced for PSVR

Announced at The Game Awards, Accounting+ will be released on PlayStation VR on December 19, with preorders currently available.

Accounting+ is an updated version of the HTC Vive VR game Accounting from Crows Crows Crows and Squanch Games. The plus version promises to be double the size of the original, with new characters, voice talent, music, levels, and more.

Dive into a world of VR, in which you also get to go into another level of VR within the game world as a candidate in an experiment focusing on “virtual reality accounting.”

Preordering Account+ will net players a 15 percent discount, while the game will be regularly priced at $11.99.

How to Watch Overwatch League Preseason Matches

Preseason matches for the first Overwatch League are now underway, and there are a few different ways to tune in.

As previously reported, all League matches will be streamed via the homepage of the Overwatch League website. This is the best place to watch, as the stream is paired with a live scoreboard that also lists the maps for each round.

You can also watch matches directly on MLG. The stream is the same, but the MLG version allows you to swap between English, French and Korean commentary. It also has a live chat, if you're looking to cheer from home.

THQ Nordic Reveals New Survival Game, Fade to Silence

Black Forest Games has announced Fade to Silence, a "character-driven, group survival game." It will arrive on Steam Early Access on December 14.

A new Steam page listing unveils the full game synopsis and details, along with a first look — check out the screenshots below:

The game takes place in a wintry post-apocalypse setting, as humans struggle to survive against both the elements and eldritch monsters.

"As the player you take the role of Ash, a natural but tormented leader. In that role you explore a post-apocalyptic, frozen wasteland to gather the resources necessary to establish a refuge for survival," the description reads.
