Dragon Quest X Producer Wants to Turn the MMO Into an Offline Game for the West
Dragon Quest X, 2012's Japan-only multi-platform MMO, could still come west – just not in its original form.
Speaking during the Super Dragon Quest X TV Fall Festival, series executive producer Yu Miyake expressed interest in bringing the MMO west (via Siliconera):
“Dragon Quest X has plenty of rich stories, and I want to make something to share it with others, including those overseas,” Miyake said.
Former Dragon Quest X producer Yosuke Saito echoed Miyake's comments. "We talk about an offline version here and there, but I don't think it's impossible. It'd be great if we could introduce it to customers."
Bandai Namco to Distribute Cyberpunk 2077 Across Europe
Bandai Namco has announced that it will distribute CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 across several European markets.
The partnership includes 24 countries in total: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
"We're looking forward to working once again with CD Projekt Red and
another of its games in Europe, providing first-class services to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the coming years," said Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe VP Southern Europe & Biz Dev Alberto González Lorca in a press release.

There's a new Hellboy movie on the way in 2019. Not only will this latest cinematic adventure reboot the franchise and introduce a new cast (including Stranger Things' Jim Hopper, David Harbour, in the titular role), it promises to draw even more closely from the Hellboy comics. That's according to Hellboy creator Mike Mignola, anyway. Mignola recently revealed that the film is specifically inspired by three Hellboy graphic novels - Darkness Calls, The Wild Hunt and The Storm and the Fury.
Yooka-Laylee Comic Spin-Off Revealed, Headed to Kickstarter
Yooka-Laylee could be getting a spin-off comic, with Dreamprism Press launching a Kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee and the Kracklestone tomorrow, October 17.
Written and illustrated by Dreamprism’s D.M. Cumbo with developer Playtonic’s blessing, the funding target of $40,000 USD will help the creator complete the 120-page graphic novel. Set after the game, the new story sees the chameleon and bat duo entering a new tome world in a race against Dr. Quack to grab an artifact rumoured to grant invincibility.

The Kickstarter will run until Friday November 16, with rewards to ship in June 2019. A digital edition is offered for a $15 pledge, a hand-sewn hardcover at $30, a Kickstarter-exclusive edition at $50, and the limited Grand Tome Collector’s Edition at $75.

Arrow spent its first five seasons telling the story of Oliver Queen's evolution from a spoiled rich kid into a hardened vigilante through flashbacks to his time on Lian Yu - but in the Season 7 premiere, the superhero show introduces a new twist on the plot device, flashing forward in time to offer a different hero's journey.
We see a mystery man traveling to Lian Yu in the midst of a brutal storm - only coming to realize at the episode's end that we've jumped forward in time, and we're seeing Oliver's son, William, all grown up. He's seeking out an older Roy Harper, who has apparently been living on the island, and it seems like William hasn't seen his father, or Roy, for quite some time.
The Flash Solo Film Delays Production, May Not Come Out Until 2021
The Flash standalone film starring Ezra Miller has had its production delayed, potentially pushing its release into 2021.
As reported by Variety, Warner Bros. is delaying the beginning of filming, with production expected to commence sometime in late 2019. Because of this late start, it could very well end up sliding to a 2021 release.
The film had originally been expected to start shooting in March 2019, though this was pushed back because its script is reportedly still being worked on. To compound the issue, Miller might now have scheduling conflicts due to his ongoing role in the Fantastic Beasts films, the third of which begins shooting in July.
Microsoft Co-Founder Paul Allen Dies at 65
Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, has died.
The 65-year-old Seattle-born philanthropist and tech innovator died due to complications from lymphoma.
The Allen family released the following statement:
“My brother was a remarkable individual on every level. While most knew Paul Allen as a technologist and philanthropist, for us he was a much loved brother and uncle, and an exceptional friend.Paul’s family and friends were blessed to experience his wit, warmth, his generosity and deep concern. For all the demands on his schedule, there was always time for family and friends. At this time of loss and grief for us – and so many others – we are profoundly grateful for the care and concern he demonstrated every day.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Players Are Using Emotes to Look Around Corners in Blackout
Blackout, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, has been impacted by players taking advantage of its emote system to look around corners and gain an advantage.
As reported by Kotaku (via VG247) players are breaking this mode by using emotes (officially called gestures) to pull the camera out into the third person in order to get a tactical view of their surroundings.
Black Ops 4, like all mainline Call of Duty games, is a first-person shooter, meaning any advantage gained by looking around corners can be hugely helpful to some players, but particularly annoying and harmful to those on the receiving end.
Update: Sony Says It’s Fixed Malicious PS4 Message Exploit
Update 10/16/18: Sony says that it's now rolled out a fix for the malicious message exploit.
Over the weekend, PlayStation 4 users began reporting their consoles were being rendered inoperable upon opening certain PSN messages. Sony has since acknowledged the exploit and told IGN it’s "planning a system software update to resolve this problem."
