Ermac Revealed for Mortal Kombat X

NetherRealm announced another addition to the Mortal Kombat X roster today. Ermac is now the 14th confirmed fighter for the upcoming Mortal Kombat game.

During the stream, the team also teased that it would be revealing a new kind of "-ality" in the next month. So far the series has seen Fatalities, Animalities, Babalities, among various other finishers like Friendship. The stream also revealed that some of the costumes used for reveals are actually alternates, so we haven't seen the main costume for some characters.

Jessica Jones Casts Rachael Taylor… as Hellcat?

Casting on the Marvel/Netflix series A.K.A. Jessica Jones continues, with Rachael Taylor now set as the title character’s best friend Trish Walker -- known as Hellcat in the comics.

Doctor Who Joins A.K.A. Jessica Jones

Taylor joins Krysten Ritter, who stars as Jessica Jones, as well as Mike Colter, who’ll play Luke Cage, and David Tennant, who fills the villainous shoes of Zebediah Killgrave, a.k.a. The Purple Man. Taylor has appeared in TV series including Crisis, Charlie's Angels, and Grey's Anatomy, as well as films such as Any Questions for Ben? and The Darkest Hour.

Let’s Play Video Shows off Total War: Attila

Creative Assembly has released a "Let's" Play video featuring the studio's own James Given and popular Total War YouTuber Lionheart to show off the Viking Forefathers Culture Pack for the upcoming Total War: Attila.

Attilla is set in the Early Middle Ages at the fall of the Roman Empire, and the coming of new "barbarian" peoples to Western Europe and the Mediterranean. With several nomadic factions, the turn-based strategic game will task players with managing hordes the function like mobile cities.

The Viking Forefathers pack will bring three additional factions to the game: the Danes, Jutes, and Geats (of Beowulf fame), taking the war to the north of the continent. The video follows 12 turns of play as the Jutes and shows them grow in wealth and lay waste to villages.

Mario Party 10 Amiibo Pre-Orders Already Disappearing

Pre-orders for the upcoming Mario Party 10 amiibo figures went live on Amazon late yesterday, and as of this writing, they're already listed as "unavailable."

The Super Mario Series individual figures, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Yoshi, and Bowser, appeared on the retailer's site yesterday and if you weren't quick on the draw, you missed out on the first round of pre-orders.

If you really want to get your next amiibo collection rolling, the Mario amiibo, 

is still available for pre-order.

Don't fret, however. You can sign up for email alerts for when the other amiibo in the series become available again for pre-order.

Terminator Genisys Super Bowl Commercial & Poster

Paramount Pictures released their Super Bowl TV spot today for this summer's Terminator Genisys, marking the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 in a new take on the mythology. The sci-fi sequel/reboot also stars Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, J.K. Simmons, and Matt Smith.

Ewan McGregor Doesn’t Like the Crossguard Lightsaber

PlayStation Plus Games for February 2015 Revealed

Sony today revealed PlayStation Plus members will receive six free games next month across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.

Beginning February 3, PS Plus members will be able to download the sci-fi action-RPG Transistor on PlayStation 4. IGN's Transistor review praised its beautiful world, incredible music, deep combat, and original story.

PlayStation 4 owners can also pick up the Greek mythology-based, 2D action-RPG Apotheon.

On PlayStation 3, Plus members will receive last year's reinvention of Thief and the JRPG/brawler hybrid Yakuza 4. In IGN's review of Thief, we enjoyed its challenging stealth, but found its level design to be hit-or-miss. In IGN's official Yakuza 4 review, we said it has "some fun gameplay, cool moments and tons to do."

WWE Network Free for New Subscribers in February

Just a few months after offering the WWE Network for free during the month of November to all new subscribers, which included the Survivor Series PPV as part of the package, the WWE is running a similar promotion/subscriber-drive for February.

Per WWE.com, new subscribers will get the WWE Network free for February, which includes "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's live podcast with Triple H this coming Monday night, Feb. 2nd, along with the Fast Lane PPV on Feb. 22nd. This news comes on the heels of the WWE announcing that they'd reached one million Network subscribers world-wide.

“Last November, we offered a free month of WWE Network to new subscribers with great success, helping us reach the one million subscriber milestone,” said Michelle Wilson, WWE Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer. “We are excited to extend the same opportunity in February to those who have not yet subscribed, so they can experience all that WWE Network offers right before WrestleMania.”

This Week in the Nintendo eShop

While the biggest release of the week is the re-release of Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii U, this is easily the best eShop week of 2015 so far. In addition to Metroid, Nintendo also has a sale on Mario Kart 8. On the 3DS, Gunman Clive 2 leads the charge alongside the Code Name S.T.E.A.M. demo and a sale on Mario Golf World Tour.
