PS4 Firmware Update Is ‘Not Too Far Out’
The manager of the European PlayStation Blog promised that the next firmware update for the PlayStation 4 is on its way.
"I haven’t got news for you today," Fred Dutton wrote in response to a question on the PlayStation Blog, "but the next update is not too far out. We’ll update you here asap."
The last major update for the PlayStation 4 arrived in November, bringing a host of new features like Share Play and YouTube integration. More recently Sony released version 2.02 - a minor patch that fixed a number of bugs introduced in the 2.0 update.
Late Comics Fan’s Batman Obituary
According to his obituary, 31-year-old Stephen Merrill passed away on February 12 by an "uppercut from Batman."
According to the ABC, Merrill died suddenly and his family didn't yet have an official cause of death when they made funeral arrangements. Florida publication The Ledger required the obituary to include a cause of death, so Merrill's close friend Brandon Moxam suggested listing the cause of death as an "uppercut from Batman." Merrill's family decided to roll with it.
Nicolas Cage Joins Oliver Stone’s Snowden
Nicolas Cage has joined the cast of Snowden.
According to Variety, Cage will play a former US Intelligence official in the movie based on whistleblower Edward Snowden.
Principal photography has begun in Munich and will continue in various locations across the world until May.
Pratt on Indy: So Far “It’s Not Something”
Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt addressed the Indiana Jones casting rumors surrounding him while on the Oscars red carpet Sunday, saying "it's not something" yet.
Speaking with MTV News, Pratt explained that no one has called him about starring as Indiana Jones in the planned reboot, though he believes "it'd be cool" to play the part made famous by Harrison Ford. "It’s all nothing until it’s something, and so far? It’s not something,” he said.
Disney is reportedly eyeing Pratt as the lead for the reboot, with Steven Spielberg possibly directing the action blockbuster. And while Pratt seemed confident about tackling the role of Indy (if asked), he did note the difficulty of making a new film that lives up to the legacy of the originals.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Curved Screen Teaser
Samsung has released a teaser for the upcoming Galaxy S6, confirming rumors that the phone would be available with a curved screen.
Earlier this month a report suggested the phone would have a flat-screen and curved-screen model and a picture released by T-Mobile shows that at least half of that is true, though we'll have to wait until next week when the company reveals more information to find out more.
Fans Launch Campaign for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Remastered
A large number of fans have launched a campaign to express the existing demand for a remastered version of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
Spearheaded by developers Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomley, the campaign is collecting signatures and sending letters to SEGA, encouraging the publisher to green light the remastered version. Currently, the campaign has amassed a total of 2,500 signatures.
Whitehead and Thomley both had a hand in the production of the remastered versions of Sonic CD, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. They'e developed a prototype remastered version of Sonic the Hedgehog 3, adding in new features including additional bonus modes, wide screen display, and new visuals for iOS and Android. With the prototype, they hope to give SEGA a template upon which the rest of the remastered version can be built.

Calista Flockhart Cast in Supergirl
CBS and Warner Bros. have revealed that Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal, Brothers and Sisters) will be a series regular in the upcoming Supergirl TV show.
The actress will play Cat Grant, who in DC Comics lore is a Daily Planet columnist and potential love interest for Clark Kent. On the new show, of course, her role will be a bit different.

Marvel Mighty Heroes Revealed
Marvel Entertainment and mobile developer DeNA has announced Marvel Mighty Heroes, a co-op game coming "soon" to iOS and Android devices.
The "real-time co-op brawler" allows gamers to choose from Marvel's roster of heroes and villains to build a dream team of fighters. Each has their own skillset and special abilities.
Some of the playable characters include Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Groot.
Marvel Mighty Heroes supports four-player multiplayer and online leaderboards, so you can track how you fare against friends as well as other players in the world.
The free-to-play title will be released "later this year" on iOS and Android. You can visit the Marvel Mighty Heroes website now to vote on which hero you can receive for free at launch: Rocket Raccoon or The Hulk.
