Birthright Shows What Happens After the Epic Hero’s Journey
Joshua Williamson talked to us about his fantasy comic called Birthright, which has wrapped up its first five-issue story arc.
What's it about? That's the first thing we asked Williamson in our interview. We also asked him about fitting Birthright into a genre, how to write a good comic book "pilot," his favorite video game, and what to expect from the next Birthright arc. Hear what he had to say, then let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Destiny Will Be Offline For 2 Hours Tomorrow
Bungie has revealed that the Destiny servers will go down for two hours Tuesday for maintenance.
The downtime will begin at 10 am Pacific on February 24 (6 PM GMT, 5 AM January 25 AST) and will apply to both Destiny and Bungie.net. Bungie says gameplay will be unaffected once service resumes.
This should help get the servers in order before the launch of Destiny's 1.1.1 update later this week, which will bring some major changes including mandatory matchmaking for the Weekly Heroic Strike.
Agent Carter: What to Expect in the Finale
Marvel’s Agents Carter’s eight-episode season comes to a close Tuesday night, and I spoke to executive producers/showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas about what to expect. The duo discussed the big character death in the penultimate episode, Leviathan’s master plan and the role Howard Stark still has to play.
Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter in the Agent Carter: Season 1 finale.
IGN: We left off with Dooley’s death. Peggy only just got on the same page with the other guys, but does this, in a way, really help bring them together?
Could Miles Morales be Marvel’s Spider-Man?
If a new rumor is anything to go by, the Spider-Man we see in Marvel's Cinematic Universe will not be Peter Parker.
Reliable source Jeff Sneider (from the trade site TheWrap) made the claim during an appearance on Meet the Movie Press podcast.
"This is not set in stone guys, but I’m telling you right now, Spider-Man’s not going to be white", said Sneider. "Spider-Man’s not going to be white. I am 95% sure. Spider-Man’s most likely going to be black. But there’s a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure, not white."
Although Sneider did not specifically mention Miles Morales - a teen of Black Hispanic descent who took over the Spidey role in 2011's Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man series, and the obvious choice for a non-white Spidey character - he was firm in his belief that the next Spider-Man would not be Peter Parker.
Daily Deals: Xbox One With Three Games and Two Controllers, PS4 With The Last of Us and The Order: 1886
An Xbox One, Two Controllers, Wolfenstein and Two Assassin's Creed Games
Amazon has the best Xbox One deal in a while. The disc copy of Wolfenstein: The New Order is nice, that's a very good game, but a free second controller is where the real value is at. Controllers hardly ever go on sale, so that's a legit $50 discount right there.

Kentucky Police Blame Elsa for Cold Weather
Thanks to one of the most brutal winters on record, police departments have decided it's high time to punish Frozen's Queen Elsa for her crimes. While the Harlan, Kentucky police have issued a warrant for the snow queen, she was arrested in Hanahan, South Carolina.
Last week, the Harlan City Policed Department put out an all points bulletin on its Facebook page, announcing that it had issued an arrest warrant for the Queen of Arendelle. Harlan just so happens to be the primary setting for FX's Justified, so we'd like to believe US Marshal Raylan Givens was involved.
Valve Announcing New Hardware at GDC
Valve is showing off a "new family of Steam devices" at Game Developers Conference next week.
At GDC, Valve will show off a "refined' Steam controller, new living room devices, and a Steam virtual reality hardware system. Last May, Valve delayed its Steam controller until an unspecified date in 2015.
Valve added that GDC 2015 will mark the 13th anniversary of its announcement of Steam. The digital distribution platform now boasts a library of 4500 games and a user base of 125 million active accounts.
Forza 6 Gets Holiday 2015 Release Window
While a 2015 release date has been expected, Microsoft has confirmed Forza Motorsport 6 is coming to Xbox One later this year.
In an interview on The Inner Circle Podcast, Microsoft's Director of Marketing for Xbox, Aaron Greenburg, said the latest entry in the Forza Motorsport series is coming exclusively to Xbox One "this Holiday," alongside Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable Legends, and Halo 5: Guardians.
Forza Motorsport 6 was revealed alongside Ford's GT supercar earlier this year. The GT will be featured in Microsoft's racer, along with several other Ford vehicles, such as the GT350 Mustang and F-150 Raptor.
Sony Files Twisted Metal Trademark in Europe
A trademark filing by Sony in Europe for Twisted Metal has been discovered.
Website junkiemonkeys.com unearthed the trademark filing on the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market website. The filing is for a community trade mark, or CTM, for classes 9, 28, and 41, which are computer games, toys, and electronic game services provided by the internet, respectively.
The last Twisted Metal game was 2012's PS3 game of the same title. The series debuted in 1995 on the original PlayStation with Twisted Metal. Which is a bit confusing. Other games in the series that aren't simply named "Twisted Metal" include 2001's Twisted Metal: Black for PS2 and 2005's Twisted Metal: Head On for the PlayStation Portable .
