Half-Life 2 Mod Features OP Gravity Gun

This week we’re highlighting another Half-Life 2 mod, but unlike the two featured previously, Transmissions - Element 120 tells a story of its own.

It’s still set in the world of Half-Life and actually takes place shortly after Half-Life 2: Episode 2. Without giving too much of the story away, most of the Half-Life staples are here: stacking puzzles! headcrabs! trusty crowbar!

The highlight of Transmissions, though, is the zero point energy projector, essentially a supercharged gravity gun that lets you rocket jump up to high places, wreck Combine soldiers with physics-defying blasts, and much more.

Take a Closer Look at the Crossguard Lightsaber

Among the many props and costumes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens that are on display at Star Wars Celebration this weekend is the unique crossguard lightsaber hilt that is wielded by the mysterious Kylo Ren in the film. That crackling, presumably Sith saber made quite a stir when we first saw it last November, and now you can take a closer look at the prop thanks to the photos we snapped at the show.

Check out the hilt as well as Ren's costume in this slideshow:

It looks very homemade, doesn't it? And while, yes, we know all lightsabers are made by their owner, this particularly rough approach would seem to be in keeping with the less than refined look of the actual blade(s) the saber projects.

Marvel Teams Up With 12 Years a Slave Writer

Marvel is making yet another foray onto TV screens with an unannounced project, and working with Oscar-winning writer/producer John Ridley to do so.

The project supposedly involves reinventing another Marvel character for ABC, according to EW, but it's unclear who that would be. Daredevil, Marvel's most recent TV release on Netflix, did likewise with the titular hero in Hell's Kitchen.

Ridley, in additon to his Oscar for best adapted screenplay with 12 Years a Slave, executive produces ABC's American Crime drama, and is attached to the upcoming 2016 Ben Hur remake as a writer/producer.

Square Enix: More Unannounced PS4 Titles Coming in 2015

Square Enix will be making more PlayStation 4-related game announcements and releases before 2015 comes to a close, according to producer Shinji Hashimoto.

Speaking to Famitsu (via Gematsu), Hashimoto explained that Square wants "to help spread PS4 even more," and the recent announcement of a sequel to Dragon Quest Heroes is just one step in bringing that goal to fruition.
