3D Realms Anthology Combines 32 Classic PC Games
A massive collection of classic PC games is now available on Steam.
Combining 32 total games, the 3D Realms Anthology is currently discounted by 25 percent on Valve's digital PC gaming service for $30.
Among the games in the pack are the classic Duke Nukem games, Alien Carnage, Xenophage, Rise of the Triad: Dark War, and the original Shadow Warrior. Visit the Steam page to see all of the games available.
In 2014, Apogee Software/3D Realms was acquired by the Danish developer Interceptor in the midst of a lawsuit between 3D Realms and Gearbox over Duke Nukem copyright infringement. Previously, rumors had suggested 3D Realms had been shutting down, which the studio later refuted and clarified.
Everything You Need to Read Marvel’s Secret Wars Event
After months of build-up and teases, Marvel is finally kicking off their epic Secret Wars crossover this week. The Marvel Universe is ending, and for the next several months, only Battleworld remains.
While this is an exciting time for Marvel readers, we can also understand why Secret Wars might be intimidating. It's a story massive in scope, one that will encompass almost every comic Marvel publishes this summer. It's also a story writer Jonathan Hickman has been building up to for years.
Luckily, we're here to help make sense of this massive superhero epic. We've put together a guide that breaks down the premise of Secret Wars, the various factions involved, how it ties to previous comics to carry the "Secret Wars" name, and what you need to read to follow this storyline.
DOFP: Rogue Cut Gets Original Film’s Release Date
X-Men: Days of Future Past Rogue Cut, which will add 17 minutes of footage to the original film, will come out July 14. That's the 15th anniversary of the release of the first X-Men movie.
Director Bryan Singer revealed the release date for the extended version of the Fox superhero film on Twitter and broadcasting live via Periscope from the set of X-Men: Apocalypse this morning.
The X-Men filmmaker previously said that the Rogue Cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past would add about 17 minutes to the film, along with a few other changes. Anna Paquin, who portrays Rogue in the film franchise, shot several scenes for Days of Future Past that were left on the cutting room floor for the theatrical release.
VR’s Future Depends on Defeating Motion Sickness, Says Chet Faliszek
Valve's Chet Faliszek says that VR's success will depend on defeating motion sickness.
Speaking at Iceland's virtual reality conference Slush Play, Faliszek's manifesto - as reported by GamesIndustry.biz - is simple: "Getting people sick isn't a choice."
Nausea is a common side-effect of playing VR games - but according to Faliszek, the problem can be solved if developers think outside the box.
"Telling people they will be okay 'Once you get your VR legs' is a wholly wrong idea," Faliszek said. "If people need to get used to it then that's failure. It has to run at 90 frames per second. Any lower and people feel sick."
