Gamescom 2017 Tightens Security for Cosplayers
Gamescom organizer Koelnmesse GmbH has tightened the security for this year's convention.
There will be separate entrances for cosplayers at Gamescom 2017. Additionally, props and accessories will be checked and registered by specially trained personnel. Any items that don't adhere to the rules can be stored at separate cloakrooms and retrieved when you leave.
Costume design rules can be found here.
Additionally, Koelnmesse advises attendees to leave all bags and backpacks that aren't absolutely necessary for the convention at home. While there will be bag checks at each of the entrances before admission into Gamescom, Koelnmesse wants to keep the wait times for entry as short as possible.

The Incredibles 2 Takes Place Immediately After the First Film
Audiences might have waited 14 years for a sequel to The Incredibles by the time the second film comes out in 2018, but not as much time has passed for the movie's titular family. Speaking with IGN, Pixar chief creative officer John Lasseter confirmed that The Incredibles 2 begins immediately after the events of the first Incredibles.
"It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on," Lasseter said during an interview at D23 Expo, quipping that only "a minute" will have passed. He added, "It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well that's where start this movie."

The idea is to make attendees feel like they are in their own Star Wars story, and though the new expansion's time period is intentionally vague, parkgoers will run into members of the First Order and the Resistance.
How Thief Inspired Warren Spector to Create Deus Ex
Thief was instrumental in the creation of Deus Ex, and Warren Spector has come forward to reveal how Looking Glass Studios' first-person stealth title inspired the creation of his beloved action role-playing game.
"That
team was adamant about focusing on stealth to the exclusion of everything else," Spector said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered, noting that "a lot of the reason Deus Ex exists is because of the stubbornness, the appropriate stubbornness, of the Thief team."
According to Spector, it was the team's dedication to making Thief strictly a stealth game that inspired him to make Deus Ex. "There's a lot to the story of Deus Ex, but one of the things that really drove me was a moment when I was playing Thief in the early build, and I just was not good enough as a sneak thief to get past some guards," he said.
