Opinion: The Justice League Comics Need Saving
Regardless of the critical reception to the Justice League movie, the team is currently in the midst of its biggest ever multimedia push. Now even the most causal of moviegoers are familiar with characters like Cyborg and Aquaman and concepts like Mother Boxes and the Speed Force. So with the Justice League becoming such a big deal in the Hollywood realm, why does it seem like the team has become such an afterthought in DC's comics?
In general, the quality of DC's comic book line has improved drastically since the start of the DC Rebirth relaunch last year. Rebirth reinvigorated all sorts of characters and franchises. Greg Rucka, Liam Sharp and Nicola Scott greatly elevated Wonder Woman. Tom King and his artists are crafting what has already become one of my favorite Batman runs of all time. Everyone from Green Arrow to Flash to Aquaman is in a drastically better place thanks to Rebirth. That's to say nothing of all the fun, unexpected ways DC's publishing line has grown in other areas, from the Hanna Barbera line to Gerard Way's Young Animal imprint to the upcoming "New Age of DC Heroes" line.
Legends of Tomorrow Temporarily Gets Supergirl Time Slot
Supergirl will take a nine-week break while DC's Legends of Tomorrow assumes its time slot to finish out its third season, The CW has announced.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, episodes of Supergirl will air this winter from January 15 through February 5, at which point Legends of Tomorrow will take over its Monday, 8/7c time slot up through April 9. After that, the remainder of Supergirl's third season will air through June 18.
Legends of Tomorrow's move to Supergirl's time slot makes room for the debut of Black Lightning, which will air during Legends of Tomorrow's current Tuesday, 9/8c time slot. Black Lightning will premiere on January 16.
How Nintendo Hinted at a Motorcycle for BotW Months Ago
The image of Link riding the Master Cycle Zero in the release trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's second DLC expansion pack may have been surprising, but Nintendo teased a bike-riding Link for the newest entry in the franchise earlier this year.
During the Breath of the Wild GDC 2017 panel in March, members of the Zelda development team showed off a host of concept art for potential Link's they dreamed up ahead of BotW's development. One of those Link's was a more realistic, bike-riding version of the character.
The Last Jedi Director Reveals SPOILERISH Cameos
The following article contains mild spoilers.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson has hinted at a smattering of cameos to look out for when the film hits theaters next week.
Speaking to IGN Japan during an interview in Tokyo, Johnson revealed, “I’ve already said that my friend Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a voice cameo in it, but there are a few film director friends of mine who have cameos too.
“Gareth Edwards
, I had to give him a cameo. My friend Edgar Wright
has a cameo in the film. And Joe Cornish, who directed John Boyega in Attack the Block, has a cameo in it too. You gotta keep your eyes peeled; it’s like Where’s Waldo! There’s a few of these director-nerd cameos.”
Stardew Valley Coming to Vita in 2018
A PlayStation Vita version of Stardew Valley will be released sometime in 2018.
The popular farming simulator/RPG will come to Vita with cross-buy support, meaning those who already own the PlayStation 4 version will be able to download the Vita version at no cost. However, as noted in a post on the Stardew Valley website, the Vita version won't feature the upcoming multiplayer update.
A beta test for the update was planned for the end of this year, but according to publisher Chucklefish, it's being pushed to early 2018 "in order to make room for polish and QA."
The update will also include all-new content, which the publisher teased with the screenshot seen below.
Star Wars: Episode 9 Director Talks Ending the Trilogy
J.J. Abrams could not pass up the opportunity to end the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Abrams, who took over for Colin Trevorrow as the director of the still-untitled Star Wars: Episode IX earlier this year, revealed he had no intention of coming back to the franchise. However, Abrams ultimately couldn't decline the chance to finish the story he helped start in The Force Awakens.
"When the opportunity presented itself to finish a story that we had begun with these new characters, to tell the last chapter of their story, it felt like there was a chance to do it in a way where we could go beyond, and do better than we did in Seven," Abrams said.

DC’s Legion of Doom Explained
Spoilers follow for Justice League.
When the world's most powerful heroes band together to fight evil, the world's most powerful villains have no choice but to do the same. That's the takeaway from the final post-credits scene in Justice League, which shows Lex Luthor and Deathstroke forming the beginning of an evil alliance that will no doubt threaten the entire DCEU. The Legion of Doom looks ready to make its big-screen debut.
With that in mind, we figured now would be a good time to explain what exactly the Legion of Doom is and why they're such a credible threat to a team that includes the likes of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
The Legion of Doom is one of several supervillain teams that have risen up in opposition to the Justice League over the years. The team roster remains pretty fluid, but the main goal of the Legion of Doom is always the same - to join forces and ensure that the Justice League are never able to rid the world of evil through sheer, overwhelming numbers.
