New Pokemon TCG Sun and Moon Expansion Revealed

A new expansion for the Pokemon TCG, Sun & Moon—Ultra Prism, will be released on February 2, 2018, The Pokemon Company announced today.

The latest expansion introduces Prism Star cards, a powerful new type of Pokemon and Trainer card. To balance their power, only one of each Prism Star card is allowed in a player's deck, compared to the usual limit of four. These cards are also discarded into the Lost Zone, rather than the discard pile.

Mr. Robot Renewed for Season 4

Mr. Robot has been renewed for a fourth season.

USA Network announced the news today, Variety reports.

Mr. Robot stars Rami Malek and Christian Slater, the latter of whom received his third consecutive Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series. Martin Wallström, Grace Gummer, Portia Doubleday, Carly Chaikin, Michael Cristofer, BD Wong, and Bobby Cannavale also star in the show.

Series creator Sam Esmail serves as an executive producer, alongside Steve Golin and Chad Hamilton. Mr. Robot is co-executive produced by Kyle Bradstreet and Joseph E. Iberti.

Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut Coming to Switch

InXile Entertainment's post-apocalyptic RPG Wasteland 2 will be coming to Nintendo Switch.

InXile founder Brian Fargo announced the news on Twitter, sharing a picture of the Director's Cut menu on a Switch console. However, no other details are known about the port, including a release date. Fargo later confirmed the same team which ported A Bard's Tale to iOS and Android will handle the Switch port.

Metal Gear Survive Open Beta Dates Announced

Metal Gear Survive will hold an open beta on PS4 and Xbox One from January 18-21. No PC beta has been announced.

The beta will allow players to enter a co-op mode that sees them "build, defend and fight alongside friends online." Playing the beta earns players bonus items in the full game upon release, including a FOX HOUND name plate, a Metal Gear Rex Head accessory and a bandana accessory.

The announcement comes alongside a new gameplay video, which explains the basics of the game's survival mechanics:

The wave-based, survival-focused Metal Gear spin-off was announced last year to some confusion. We've since said that it seems not to understand the series' strengths.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Updates Detailed

Monolith Soft has provided some new details about Xenoblade Chronicles 2's forthcoming updates and expansion pass.

According to a recent post from Monolith Soft executive director Tetsuya Takahashi, the Ver. 1.1.1 update, which will drop on December 22, will include a slew of bug fixes as well as the following features:

  • An easy mode for the Tiger! Tiger! mini game.
  • By pressing the X button, the Skip Travel screen will open the map to your current location.

5 PSVR Games That Give Us Hope For The System

Being an early adopter of any new technology can lead to disappointment, and as someone who jumped on the PlayStation VR bandwagon last fall, I've spent a good deal of the last year dreading this beautiful piece of hardware would go the way of the Vita: withering away from a lack of support from Sony, developers, and consumers.

While there's still a possibility it could go this way, Sony Interactive Entertainment's strong VR offering at PSX 2017 definitely set my mind at ease. The company had dozens of new of new games playable on the show floor, with enough variety to feel like the launch lineup we hoped for, but didn't quite receive, last fall.

Life Is Strange Coming to iOS This Week

Life is Strange is coming to iOS this week.

Developer DONTNOD Entertainment announced the first three episodes of its critically acclaimed game series will be available to download via the App Store tomorrow, December 14. Episodes 4 and 5 will be released sometime in Q1 2017.

The port is being handled by Black Wing Foundation and comes with a few exclusive new features, including full touch screen integration and an in-game photo mode allowing you to take pictures, modify them with filters, and share them with friends.

Also included are Life is Strange iMessage stickers and the ability to share your game progress on social media and compare your story choices. The port is also being built with Unreal Engine 4.

DayZ Creator: One Game Launched, Another Announced

DayZ creator Dean "Rocket" Hall and his RocketWerkz studio have been busy, with a brand new title dropping today on the Steam store and another announced with an unspecified release date.

Stationeers is live now as an Early Access title on Steam, and describes itself as being "inspired by the beloved Space Station 13". The game features both single player and multiplayer options, and allows players to construct and manage their own space stations. Touting "complex atmospherics, science, power, engineering, medical, and agricultural systems", Stationeers requires "thought and management at all times". For players who are a little more adventurous, the game also provides motherships, flyable vehicles which allow a departure from the space station to explore local asteroids and collect resources which can be refined through factories within the station.
