Opinion: Despite Its Great Premise, DC’s New Comic Line Is Failing
DC Comics has been nothing if not ambitious in the last few years. The DC Rebirth relaunch was just the beginning, paving the way for a slew of new imprints like Young Animal, Wildstorm, DC Black Label and the recently revealed DC Vertigo relaunch. Then there's "The New Age of DC Heroes," an imprint devoted to spotlighting big-name artists and new characters. More than any other initiative this year, The New Age of DC Heroes embodies the kind of publisher DC is striving to be. That's why it's so unfortunate that the line has so utterly failed to live up to its promise.

Matthew Vaughn Reportedly Planning Kick-Ass Film Reboot
Matthew Vaughn is reportedly planning a Kick-Ass movie reboot alongside more Kingsman films.
Empire reports Vaughn, through his upcoming new movie studio Marv Studios, wants to do a new take on Kick-Ass. The remake could possibly feature the latest incarnation of the character, African-American single mother Patience Lee.
A solo Hit-Girl film might also happen, and it could focus on an older Mindy Macready or a younger version of the character being raised by Big Daddy.
As for Kingsman, Vaughn is planning on expanding the franchise with several more movies and even a TV show. A third Kingsman film featuring the end of the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship is in the cards.
18 Things We Learned On the Set of Blumhouse’s Halloween
There's a killer on the streets of Haddonfield... again. This fall, Halloween returns to theaters, with an all-new sequel which ignores all the other sequels (and the Rob Zombie reboot movies), creating a new branching timeline for horror fans to debate endlessly for years to come. And IGN was there, on the set of the Charleston, SC location doubling for the iconic small town which seems perpetually doomed to suffer every October 31.
The new film is once again called Halloween, and it once again stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. It's the role that originally shot her to stardom when John Carpenter cast her in 1978's influential thriller, which helped codify the burgeoning slasher genre. The new film is directed by David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express), and co-written by David Gordon Green and Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down), and also stars Judy Greer and Andi Matichak as Laurie Strode's daughter, and granddaughter, respectively, and Nick Castle, reprising his original role as Michael Myers (with actor/stuntman Jim Courtney stepping in for the more physical scenes).
