How The Last of Us Remains a Masterpiece 5 Years Later
In a weird way, The Last of Us has nothing to do with gnarly-looking, fungus-infected, brain-dead humans who want nothing more than to rip the flesh from your face as you trek across the rural U.S. in search of answers. That's why, early on in development, Naughty Dog hesitated over even including them in the game that's since sold 17 million copies in five years.
The Last of Us is, instead, very much about the familial bond between a man, Joel, and a girl, Ellie, over a 15-hour journey of stealth and shooting. It's also the representation of a teenager coming into her own, and coming to terms with what her presence in a post apocalyptic world means as she discovers and grapples with the varying sides of a humanity under threat. And it's the representation of a man overcoming the emotional baggage of having once been a father, restructuring his life, and then growing to embrace becoming a father figure.

Disney to Reportedly Increase Its Fox Bid Following Comcast Offer
Disney is reportedly set to increase its $52.4 billion bid for 21st Century Fox to fend off Comcast.
CNBC reports Disney is prepared to add cash to its all-stock offer to win the bidding, however, the exact amount is not known. Last week, Comcast made an estimated $65 billion bid for Fox's assets after its offer last year was rejected due to antitrust concerns.
Fox will be holding a shareholders meeting this Wednesday, according to CNBC, to determine the Disney deal and discuss Comcast's offer. If the board decide Comcast's bid is superior, Disney would then have five days to match the $65 billion offer.

Destiny 2’s Cayde-6 Is Really, Truly Dead, Says Bungie
Bungie has some bad news for Destiny 2 fans who were holding out hope that fan-favorite character Cayde-6 wasn't truly dead in the Forsaken DLC trailer.
"He's dead. His ghost is dead," Bungie Principal Producer Scott Taylor told GamesRadar during E3. Continuing, Taylor explained that there were several reasons for the move.
"We wanted to establish the tone of the game and show that we're serious about it," he explained. "We also want people to process it. You'll play a mission with him, and you're not really sure when this is going to happen, or how, so the emotional experience of that would be very different if you just turned on the game, you saw it and it was all just a shock. It's actually a little more rich and interesting if you have time to sit with it and reflect."
