Fortnite Continues to Be a Problem for Children in School

Fortnite's popularity hasn't slowed down and neither have the problems it's causing for children in school.

Today alone, several local news outlets have reported ongoing problems with Fortnite and its incredibly strong hold it has on students. West Witney Primary School performed a survey on whether or not to ban the incredibly popular game. Older students ultimately voted in opposition to banning and the school went on to warn parents the game is not suitable for younger children.

Another school went a more detailed route and banned Fortnite dances like "Floss" and other emotes. Head teacher Catherine Cox went on to explain these dances were being used to "surround and intimidate other children" and that Fortnite is showing "obsessive and overactive behavior" in students that play. The school was met with backlash when parents took to social media to express their concerns.

July Monthly Humble Bundle Spotlight

If you buy something through this post, IGN may get a share of the sale. For more, read our Terms of Use.

Things are definitely heating up for the summer, which means it might not be a bad idea to take a break from the scorching summer sun to enjoy some games indoors. The Humble Monthly Bundle is here to keep you cool and keep your game library packed with great games.

Here's how it works: Visit the Humble Monthly Bundle site and sign up for just $12 per month. Then at the beginning of each month, you get a round of early-unlock games immediately. Good games. Fun games. But it keeps on delivering: even more games are revealed at the end of the month. So each month you get a whole grip of games, rationed out carefully for maximum enjoyment. When the next month begins, the process starts all over again, hence the “monthly” part of the Humble Monthly Bundle. You can cancel whenever you want, too, so if you see a game in this month’s bundle that really catches your fancy, but next month doesn’t excite you, there’s no penalty or committment. And isn’t being laid back what summer’s all about?

Kill la Kill the Game: IF Title and Story Details Announced

Studio Trigger and video game publisher Arc System Works announced new details for Kill la Kill the Game: IF during the game’s panel at Anime Expo 2018. As promised last month with its initial announcement, we now have some more details for the upcoming “battle action” title set for 2019.

First and foremost, the game’s official title has been revealed to be Kill la Kill the Game: IF. A brief amount of gameplay was shown off, featuring anime protagonist Ryuko Matoi taking on the ruthless student council president Satsuki Kiryuin with an art style inspired from the anime.

IF isn’t a typical 2D-style fighting game like Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle that Arc Systems Work is known for, as it is a 3D fighting game with flashy action moves and battles taking place on various maps. Panelists at Anime Expo from Trigger, Arc System Works, and developer APLUS said this is to allow for a more “accessible” barrier of entry into the game.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Pockets $11.5M on Preview Night

Ant-Man and the Wasp saw a stronger start than the original movie and Doctor Strange at the box office last night.

Deadline reports the Marvel sequel scored an estimated $11.5 million on preview night. That's better than Guardians of the Galaxy too, which brought in $11.2 million. But Ant-Man and the Wasp falls short of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's $15.3 million start last month.

Looking ahead at the full weekend, Ant-Man and the Wasp is tracking to bring in $70 million to $80 million. Those numbers would also top the original movie as well.
