Fortnite: Season 5 Teaser Image Unveiled
Epic Games is counting down to Fortnite: Season 5 with a new teaser image.
Unveiled on Twitter, the Season 5 image shows a pink cat behind the rift caused by the in-game Fortnite rocket launch late last month. One Reddit user believes the character is Bastet, an Ancient Egyptian goddess.
Epic Games has released this teaser image for Fortnite: Season 5, which starts this Thursday, July 12.
Overwatch Raised $12.7 Million for Charity Thanks to Pink Mercy
Back in May, Overwatch revealed a limited time Pink Mercy legendary skin that cost $15 USD, with 100 percent of the proceeds going toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Today, Blizzard announced that the campaign, which ran from May 8-21, raised over $12.7 million and became the largest donation by a corporate partner within one year of the 25-year history of the foundation.
In addition to the Pink Mercy skin, thousands of limited-edition Pink Mercy T-shirts were sold for this cause and contributed to the total, designed by community artist VICKISIGH.
Fortnite Rifts Are Now Spawning New Items into the Game
Fortnite's rifts are at it again. No longer content to suck in-game items up and deposit them into the real world, the rifts are also now generating new in-game items.
Most prominently, Reddit user TimSad and Twitter's Fortnite: Battle Royale Leaks noticed that the portal between the Moisty Mire and Prison areas spawned a wagon over the weekend.
While theories vary as to what this means, it appears likely to be yet another reference to what's believed to be a Wild West theme for Season 5.
Super Mario 64 Speedrunning Record Broken
A new speedrun record for Super Mario 64 has just been achieved.
Speedrunner Drozdowsky has finished arguably the most popular speedrun game in record-breaking time at 6:41:76. The record was held for 2 years at 6:44:23 by Akira, as seen on Speedrun.com.

Akira now comes in second, with third place belonging to Xiah who trails just behind at 6:44:70. You can check out Drozdowsky's record-breaking run on YouTube.
Chasm Release Date Revealed
Five years later, Chasm finally has a release date: July 31.
Developer Bit Kid also stated on a Kickstarter update that Early Access backers can play the full game July 16. Chasm was originally funded back in 2013.
Back in April, Bit Kid announced Chasm was planned to arrive this summer (in the Northern Hemisphere). The Metroidvania game is cross-buy on PlayStation 4 and Vita.

Amy Hennig’s Star Wars Game Characters May Be Re-Used in New Open-World Game
EA Vancouver's upcoming new open-world Star Wars game might feature a lot of unused assets from Amy Hennig's cancelled Star Wars project.
In an interview with GameInformer, Motive Studios general manager Jade Raymond said the plan is to re-use as many as Star Wars characters and other assets as possible.
According to Raymond, the plan was to always keep some of the best stuff from Hennig's game, which was said to have been a single-player adventure title codenamed Ragtag.
Anthem Will Let You Turn Off Damage Numbers
If you don't like damage numbers in Anthem, get rid of them.
During the self-styled 'AMAAAA' (Ask Me Almost Anything About Anthem) with executive producer Mark Darrah, BioWare revealed that players can customize damage numbers in its upcoming sci-fi action game Anthem over the weekend.
"Damage floaties can be tuned to your liking," reads a tweet from Anthem's official Twitter account. "Adjust opacity, size, and even completely turn them off. Whatever helps you win the battle."
So, if you're a person who doesn't like the idea of Anthem's world being infested with flying digits, you can keep that knowledge hidden or adjust it in whatever way feels best.

Traversing the Lo-fi Abyss of Objects in Space
The low hum of my ship’s engine confirms the status emblazoned on my helm monitor — everything’s running perfectly. I took an easy contract to deliver some cargo. Same sector, easy money. I check the nav map and see I’m about to hit my first waypoint. The autopilot slowly turns my tub to the left and into a new unexplored sector of space. I glance down at my phone and start reading Twitter, then Instagram. “Man, how does the Rock have the time to be this amazing?” I don’t hear the ship’s proximity alarms. “I should really work out more. I wonder what The Rock’s workout is like?” I glance back up to see my ship heading full speed into the middle of an asteroid field. I curse my momentary lapse of concentration and set about plotting a course out. I just hope my ship will hold together.
Brie Larson Posts Photo on Twitter Confirming Captain Marvel is a Wrap
Captain Marvel star Brie Larson shared a photo on Sunday through Twitter confirming the end of filming for the Marvel Studios movie.
The image is of a signed Captain Marvel clapperboard atop a calendar with days throughout the month of June and July crossed out, and the word "HOME" written by the date of July 7th. Co-director Ryan Fleck shared an Instagram post a couple days prior, teasing that filming wrapped up on July 6th as well.
