Hugh Jackman Ponders Wolverine Joining the MCU
You’ve surely heard by now the amazing news that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have struck a deal to essentially share the character of Spider-Man on the big screen moving forward. And now, another Marvel super-star -- Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman -- is talking about the situation.
While talking to Geek.com this morning, Jackman offered his thoughts on whether or not Wolverine could wind up in the Marvel Studios movies eventually as well.
Boston Dynamics Introduces Newest Robot Dog, ‘Spot’
Boston Dynamics, a wholly-owned subsidiary of search-engine giant Google, has introduced its latest rough-terrain robot, "Spot."
The robotic dog walks like, well, a dog, and uses advanced sensors to help it move around rough terrain. The robot also has a keen sense of balance, as can be seen by the almost disturbing footage of team members kicking Spot to try to knock it over.
Spot is able to quickly adapt to the sudden force exerted upon it. Performing calculations and adjustments that keep it from falling over prevents the demonstration video from turning sad and oddly cruel.
Four legged mobility has distinct advantages in rough terrain over wheeled alternatives. Boston Dynamics has worked alongside the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, and the US Marine Corps to develop other robots such as the LS3, or Legged Support System. The LS3 robotic pack mule is designed to carry up to 400 pounds of gear and will follow its leader using computer vision.
Why Does Laying Traps in a Video Game Feel So Good?
In his ancient military text The Art of War, strategist and philosopher Sun Tzu said: “Hence to fight and conquer in your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting.”
I read The Art of War once. I didn’t really get it. I mean, I got it - it’s a pretty comprehensive ‘how to’ of the battlefield - but as someone who has never had to engage in armed combat, it was a little over my head.
As far as I could perceive, these pages contained fighting advice delivered by a hardened veteran of conflict. How these words have since been reinterpreted to align with entrepreneurialism, how they transcend to the proverbial board room, or how they can act as a syllabus for business acumen is utterly beyond me. Maybe I just don’t get it. What I do get, however, is how Tzu’s statement above could relate to video games.
Community: Season 6 Includes a Police Academy Reunion
Community's sixth season may be premiering on a whole new platform (Yahoo Screen on March 17th) with all new cast members (Paget Brewster and Keith David), but from the looks of the tweet below the show hasn't lost its love for retro movie references.
Police Academy star Steve Guttenberg tweeted a picture from the Community set yesterday, revealing that a cool three-person Police Academy reunion was underway on the show. Here you'll see Guttenberg posing with Community star Joel McHale, along with fellow Academy alums Bobcat Goldthwait (who played Zed) and former SNL cast member Tim Kazurinsky (who played Sweetchuck).

Gotham: Joker Set-Up Beginning Next Week?
With seven episodes left to go now in Gotham's first season, it seems like (the seeds of) The Joker are being sown in next week's episode "The Blind Fortune Teller." Check out the quick promo for the episode here...
Could this be a bit of misdirection? Well, Gotham creator Bruno Heller said that origins of Joker would be lightly touched upon before the season was up. It's also interesting to note that FOX's original order for the season was for 16 episodes, and next week's chapter is number 16. We don't know though if "The Blind Fortune Teller" was ever intended to be the season finale or if everything got reworked after FOX bumped up the order to 22 episodes back in October.
