3 Hours With Final Fantasy 15’s Ferocious Combat
NOTE: For more hands-on impressions of Final Fantasy XV, check out Luke Karmali's preview.
Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae gives us a brief glimpse of the possibility in Square Enix's eventual open world role-playing game, but the demo isn't just a simple sample of what's to come. Duscae is a deep, rewarding exploration of a gorgeous world, a group of friends, and Final Fantasy XV's complex and challenging combat.
This is what IGN Editors Mitch Dyer and Marty Sliva came away with after hours inside Final Fantasy XV.
I have never loved the Final Fantasy series -- I'm very particular about JRPGs, turn-based combat, and magical worlds, and while the series has done plenty of respectable and interesting things, I've never fallen for any Final Fantasy game. Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae is the first one I've instantly adored.

Final Fantasy 15 Isn’t Afraid to Innovate to Find Greatness
Note: For a deeper dive into Final Fantasy XV's combat, check out IGN's deeper dive into Episode Duscae's combat.
Ten years is a long time to wait for anything. In the case of Final Fantasy XV, many thought the wait would never end amid rumours of cancellations and vapourware. But while the wait’s been torturous, I’ve finally been able to get my hands on the game I’ve wanted since I was 15. Better still, it’s shaping up to build on the best bits of the series’ past while being unafraid to innovate.

Shuhei Yoshida: PSN Attacked ‘Literally Every Day’
President of Sony's Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida recently spoke about DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks on PlayStation Network and the surprising frequency at which they occur.
At GDC this week, Yoshida told Game Informer that PSN is attacked "literally every day" and that Sony is working diligently to combat each effort.
"We are always always working against these attacks," Yoshida said. "Actually, an attack happens every day. Literally every day. Some days are bigger and some days smaller. Some days they devise new means, new ways - it's like cat and mouse. We have a partner company we work with, and we always update the new ways the attacker might deploy, so it is a constant battle."
