New Star Wars Infographic Reveals Updated Canon
A new, official Star Wars infographic has revealed the updated canon for all upcoming movies, TV shows, books and video games within the franchise.
Last year, Disney/Lucasfilm announced a new Star Wars continuity that would only include the six previous Star Wars films, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and any future Star Wars material. Now, the eagle eyes at Jedi Bibliothek have spotted a handy timeline in the Amazon preview for the upcoming paperback edition of Star Wars: A New Dawn. Check it out:
Drone Made To Look Like Imperial Star Destroyer
A drone hobbyist known as Olivier C on YouTube recently showed off a remote-controlled quadcopter modded to look like an Imperial Star Destroyer.
Spotted by CNET, the drone's Star Wars-inspired, custom built frame is fitted with LED lights and seems well-balanced in the air, based on the videos on Olivier's page.
Olivier C also has a host of other custom drone cases, including a TIE Interceptor and the Millennium Falcon.
A thread on the RCGroups forum includes a step-by-step visual guide to building the Falcon if you want to see how it was done.
Atari Launches Asteroids: Outpost Today on Early Access
Asteroids: Outpost, Atari's reimagining of its classic arcade game, is now available on Steam Early Access.
For a limited time, Asteroids: Outpost will cost $19.79 USD, to commemorate the 1979 launch of the original Asteroids. When this offer expires, it will return to its regular price of $30 USD.
Asteroids: Outpost is described as an open-world, multiplayer survival game. You'll be placed on the Asteroid Belt, where you'll be able to mine materials, craft tools and weapons, build and defend a base, and attack bases belonging to others. While it clearly differs from the original, Outpost will pay homage to Asteroids through asteroid destruction animations and outer space themes.

Fifty Shades Director Not Returning For Sequels
Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return to direct either of the two sequels to the movie adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.
Speaking with Deadline, Taylor-Johnson said: "While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three."
Deadline reports that Taylor-Johnson's departure is the result of clashes over creative controls. Author E. L. James wanted to ensure that the film would please the 100 million fans of her book series, and Taylor-Johnson felt "creatively handcuffed" by James' wishes.
Overwatch Trademark Suspended… Again
Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming class-based shooter Overwatch is facing trademark issues again, as the USPTO has suspended the studio's rights to the name for a second time.
Earlier this year, a similar suspension was made on the grounds of brand confusion with similar trademarks already owned by Innovis Labs. However, a compromise was made shortly thereafter in the form of a co-existence agreement between Blizzard and Innovis.
Oddly enough, the new suspension, which was filed yesterday, once again cites brand confusion as the reason for challenging Blizzard's ownership of the name Overwatch. It appears Innovis Labs has not amended its prior application.
Game of Thrones: 6 Book Elements We Miss
UPDATED: Spoilers for both HBO's Game of Thrones TV series (through Season 5) and for all of George R. R. Martin's completed A Song of Ice and Fire novels follow...
Not that HBO's Game of Thrones hasn't deviated from the original George R. R. Martin books, but from a book-to-show adaptation standpoint, knowing what can happen in situations like these, the show's actually been surprisingly faithful. More or less. Almost every big moment has remained intact, as creators/producers D.B. Weiss and David Benioff didn't feel the burning desire to fix something that ain't broke.
But now, having entered Season 6 - which has no direct book correlation - the show is off and running on its own. George R. R. Martin's A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons were his most recent published Song of Ice and Fire books, with two still left to finish. Which means -- aside from a few remaining Iron Island aspects and a couple other subplots -- the TV series has overtaken the show and will complete the saga with nothing tethering it to the original text.
