Deadpool Dies in His 250th Issue
The Merc with a Mouth is no more. In today’s Deadpool #45 by writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn and artist Mike Hawthorne, marketed as the 250th Deadpool issue, Deadpool died when two alternate universe Earths smashed together. What a way to go.
For those following Marvel’s Avengers and New Avengers comics by Jonathan Hickman, this will come as no surprise. The heroes in those comics have been faced with a dilemma where parallel Earths are colliding with one another, resulting in the end of each Earth’s universe. They have avoided destruction thus far, but we already know that they will fail to stop the main 616 Marvel Universe from crashing into the Ultimate Marvel Universe, which will kick off Marvel’s big Secret Wars summer event. This is our first look at that incident, making Deadpool the first superhero casualty of Secret Wars.

Need for Speed Film Sequel in the Works
A sequel to last year's Need for Speed movie staring Aaron Paul is in the works, Electronic Arts has announced.
According to Variety, EA is partnering with China Movie Channel Program Center, Jiaflix Enterprises, and 1905 Pictures to produce a followup film set in China.
"We are excited to work with EA, one of the world’s most recognized creative companies," China Movie Channel Yin Cao said. "We are also delighted that much of 'Need for Speed 2' would be filmed in China, and we believe it will include much more Chinese talent and elements."
It's no surprise that EA is looking to set the sequel in China, as the 2014 film performed incredibly well in the region, raking in approximately $65 million.
Supernatural Creator Writing New DC Comic and TV Series
DC Comics imprint Vertigo is getting a new comic book miniseries from Supernatural creator Eric Kripke called Amped, and a television adaption is also in the works for USA Network from Kripke.
According to Variety, Amped's six issues will be released monthly starting this fall. Kripke will also write and executive produce the TV series, which USA described alongside the annoucement:
"When a neurotic family man buys an online "smart pill" to increase his focus and jolt him out of his slump, he gets much more than he bargained for. To his surprise, the pill gives him incredible strength and power. The project examines both the mighty highs and humiliating lows of being a real-life super hero."

Bandai Namco Launches Teaser Site
Bandai Namco Games, in collaboration with Japanese magazine Famitsu, has launched a countdown teaser website.
The site's countdown timer will hit zero on April 13. However, Gematsu has managed to trick the system by changing its computer's internal clock. The result is an image of a city shrouded in haze, covered by gold chains.
This isn't the first time Bandai Namco has teased its fans with a timer, as earlier this year the Japanese publisher hinted at an impending game reveal with a similar countdown site.
Battlefield Hardline Players Spent 3,800 Years In-Game
Over 2 billion minutes, or 3,805 years of gameplay, have been spent in Battlefield Hardline.
According to a new infographic from EA, the game modes Hotwire, Conquest Large, and Heist dominate the majority of that time across Hardline's top three maps: Downtown, Everglades, and Riptide.
The most popular class in Battlefield Hardline is the Operator, similar to Assault in previous Battlefield installments, used by 46% of players. 22% of players play Professional, 21% play Mechanic, and 11% play Enforcer.
So far, players have engaged in 224,943,351 multiplayer battles, earning $901 billion in-game dollars.
Visceral Games Boss Leaves EA
Steve Papoutsis, the Executive Producer on Battlefield Hardline, is no longer the General Manager at Visceral Games.
His position was filled by Scott Probst, the son of a former EA executive, reports Kotaku. Their report didn't clarify whether Papoutsis still works for EA or whether he left the company altogether, but a statement from EA given to the site confirms the latter:
“We are thankful for Steve’s many contributions to EA and wish him the best."
In addition to leading development on Battlefield Hardline, Papoutsis is also known for his work on the Dead Space series.
Pixels: Pac-Man’s Out for Blood
Check out some newly released photos from Columbia Pictures' upcoming alien invasion, video game comedy Pixels.
In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens misinterpret video-feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of war against them, they attack the Earth, using the games as models for their various assaults. President Will Cooper (Kevin James) has to call on his childhood best friend, ’80s video game champion Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler), now a home theater installer, to lead a team of old-school arcaders (Peter Dinklage and Josh Gad) to defeat the aliens and save the planet. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.
