Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade Won’t Boast Massive Roster on Day One

Square Enix has announced that Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade won't boast a 50-character roster on day one. Instead, the studio plans to start off with a modest number of 14 playable fighters.

It was initially believed the game would launch with a whopping 50 characters from the Final Fantasy universe, but Square Enix has since clarified (via Gematsu) that such information was misreported, as it plans to climb to that number over time with post-launch support.

So far, a total of seven characters have been confirmed, including the Buster Sword-wielding Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII, Lighting from Final Fantasy XIII, and Final Fantasy VI's Terra Branford.

Here’s How You can Get The Elder Scrolls Online for $20

A $20 copy of The Elder Scrolls Online is on offer for those who are transferring from PC to Xbox One or PlayStation 4.

In order to obtain this significantly-discounted copy, however, several qualifications must be met. Those who purchased The Elder Scrolls Online and registered their copy by June 30, 2014 can now visit the PC/Mac store and buy the discounted console version under the tab "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for Console with account copy." It should be noted that this will only be available until May 9.

This discounted copy for either console will be exactly the same as other full-priced options, and the account used to play on PC will be copied and moved over to console, meaning players can continue to play on both PC and console. However, since the account will be a copy, the progress saved on either version will not carry over to the other.

Resogun Wasn’t Originally Planned Just for PS4

After releasing Resogun on all three Sony platforms last year, developer Housemarque looked back on the arcade shooter's pre-release design plans, as well as some features that had to be cut.

Although Resogun was originally released solely on PS4, this wasn't the original plan –– Housemarque wanted to release it on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita simultaneously. But after speaking with Sony, the developer decided to focus on the PS4 version in order to show off the new console's power in late 2013. Resogun later released for the other two platforms in December of 2014.

"Originally, we were planning to have PS3 and Vita versions of the game," Housemarque said in a post-mortem video. "But that was also close to the release of the PS4. So after a lot of talking with Sony, everybody agreed it would be better to initially make this a PS4 exclusive, to harness all of the extra power we would get with the new system."

Monster Hunter Stories Announced for 3DS

Monster Hunter Stories, a brand-new spinoff set in within Capcom's insanely popular creature-hunting franchise, is coming to Nintendo's handheld.

Capcom unveiled this 3DS-exclusive role-playing game during its Monster Hunter Fest '15 Finals. According to series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Stories will offer a very different take on the series. In addition to having a much more whimsical art style, Monster Hunter Stories will put players in the shoes of a "Rider" rather than a "Hunter."

"After having passed the 10th anniversary last year, this is a new challenge for the Monster Hunter series that we’ve began designing since about five years ago," Tsujimoto said at the event (via Siliconera). "While staying true to the world of Monster Hunter, and a story that can only be told through an RPG, we’d like to pack it with fun and enjoyment that we can’t even begin to describe with words."
