Gengar Makes a Haunting Grand Entrance for Pokken Tournament
At NicoNico Chokaigi, Gengar was revealed to be the latest addition to Pokkén Tournament's roster of fighters.
The addition of Gengar was determined by the public through a Twitter campaign that ran when Pokkén Tournament was annouced in August 2014. Gengar's reveal trailer showed a variety of moves, some of which appear to be Night Shade, Feint Attack, and Lick. The Shadow Pokémon's ultimate move, also known as a "Burst Attack," was shown to be its Mega Evolution.
Pokkén Tournament is an upcoming arcade fighter being made in collaboration between The Pokemon Company and Bandai-Namco. It originally introduced the fighting-type Pokémon, Machamp and Lucario, in the game's annoucement trailer.
Black Ops 3: Everything You Need to Know About Today’s Reveal
Today, Activision held its "world reveal" of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
A new trailer, some news about the release date and beta, and new screenshots were dropped. We're looping everything together in one convenient spot so you don't have to go hunting.
Here's what you need to know about the next Call of Duty.
Set to Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones, the trailer gives us a first look at Black Ops 3 gameplay and offers some story context about how soldiers are becoming less and less human.
Most importantly, it confirms the leaked Black Ops 3 release date of November 6, 2015 was correct.
Black Ops 3: What You Need to Know About Multiplayer, Zombies, and Campaign
Every year, the studio developing Call of Duty tries something new to shake up the familiar formula.
Sledgehammer Games, for example, wanted more speed and verticality, so Advanced Warfare had jetpack-like Exo suits. Treyarch’s plan for Black Ops 3 doesn’t sound as revolutionary, and until you play the game, it might not make any sense.
They’re taking the shootiest shooter around, and… adding more shooting. That’s not cynicism; it’s genuine astonishment.
When I visited Treyarch to see Black Ops 3 in action, the developers kept using the phrase “guns up.” Boiled down, it means no matter what you’re doing, you’re going to have full control of your weapon.
Black Ops 3 Will Have a Multiplayer Beta
If you pre-order Call of Duty: Black Ops III, you’ll have access to a multiplayer beta before the game is launched later this year.
“The public MP beta will be available for anyone who pre-orders the game,” said Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia. “We want people to play before it launches. The team is so excited to offer this opportunity, which is something the franchise hasn’t done since Call of Duty: World at War.”
Last week, leaked promotional images suggested a Black Ops 3 beta would soon be announced. Now, Activision has made the news official.
New Black Ops 3 Gameplay Trailer Reveals Release Date
A new trailer from Activision gives us a first look at gameplay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
It also confirms a November 6, 2015 release date, which was leaked via promotional materials last week. If you pre-order Black Ops 3, you'll get access to a multiplayer beta on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, though no start date was given.
In Black Ops 3 multiplayer, you no longer play as regular soldiers. Instead, you pick a specialist, which has a unique weapon and power. This trailer shows off some of them, including the death robot whose arm turns into a minigun. For more details on the new game from Treyarch, check out our full Black Ops 3 preview.
Whedon Still Interested in Directing a DC Movie
Joss Whedon has said that he’d be interested in making a movie for DC, and while sad he isn't getting to direct the forthcoming Wonder Woman movie, he's still excited to see it.
While promoting new film Avengers: Age of Ultron, the writer-director has been telling all and sundry that this would be his last Marvel movie for the foreseeable future. So we asked if he’d consider defecting to the other side.
“Sure. I’d be like ‘I have all these joke ideas.’ And they’d be like ‘No, we don’t do that here.’ I desperately wanted to do a Batman film – who doesn’t? And I wanted to do Wonder Woman. I was a Marvel kid growing up, but I was always DC-curious. And I see myself on the spectrum in between.”
P.T. Getting Pulled From PlayStation Store
The "playable teaser" for Konami's upcoming horror game Silent Hills will be delisted from Sony's online marketplace in just four days.
The publisher posted a notice on the game's official website, announcing that come April 29, the "distribution period of 'P.T. (Playable Teaser)' on PlayStation Store will expire."
Ever since Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima's position over at Konami was first called into question, the future of Silent Hills, which Kojima was set to work on with Guillermo del Toro, has looked shaky at best.
Here’s Your First Look at Ninja Turtles 2

In addition to a pair of photos showcasing the Turtles' new van, Bay's tease on Twitter also includes an image of a Polaris Slingshot, accompanied by the description: "Just some stuff I found…"
Here's a look at Polaris' three-wheeled motorcycle.
Valve Adding ‘Pay What You Want’ Option to Steam Workshop Mods
After what could be described as a cool reception to the news that Valve would allow modders to charge for their creations, Valve co-founder Gabe Newell took to reddit to talk about mods, Valve's reasoning behind the move, and his confidence that mod authors won't have their creations ripped-off.
Addressing concerns that a pay model will corrupt the modding community, Newell said Valve's goal is to improve modding both for the authors and gamers. "If something doesn't help with that, it will get dumped," he said, adding that while he believes this will be a win-win situation for modders and gamers, ultimately the data will decide what stays or goes.
