Mad Max Gameplay Trailer Reveals Thunderdome

Today's Mad Max gameplay overview trailer reveals the Thunderdome, the caged gladiator arena from 1985's Mad Max 3: Beyond Thunderdome.

Does this mean we can anticipate deadly cage fights as much as ruthless desert warfare?

Just based on this trailer, we're not quite sure what the role of the Thunderdome is in the new Mad Max game.

Does it make a one-off appearance as part of a story mission, or is it a multiplayer game mode unlockable via the campaign? The possibilities...

Steam Workshop Update Gives Creators More Ways to Make Money

Steam has updated Workshop to let modders make more money from their creations.

Games with the new feature enabled will let modders list their maps, items, and other creations for sale directly through Steam Workshop through "a new streamlined process."

Direct mod sales begin today with Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and future titles will become available "in the coming weeks."

"We think this is a great opportunity to help support the incredible creative work being done by mod makers in the Steam Workshop," said Valve's Tom Bui, adding that user-generated content (UGC) is increasingly a "significant component" of many Steam games. Valve believes that adding financial incentives for modders will "help drive the level of UGC to new heights."

No Gambit in X-Men: Apocalypse?

X-Men: Apocalypse may not in fact feature an appearance from Channing Tatum's Gambit.

In an interview with MTV, while promoting his upcoming film Magic Mike XXL, Tatum hinted at the very real possibility of Gambit's planned solo film serving as the first time moviegoers get to see his version of the character on the silver screen. This conflicts with early reports which indicated that Gambit might debut in the Days of Future Past sequel.

"You know, I don’t know if I’m at liberty to say," Tatum said when asked about Gambit's role (or lack thereof) in X-Men: Apocalypse. "But I don’t think I want to introduce Gambit until you can really explain who Gambit is."

What’s New on Netflix in May

No, there's no hugely-hyped superhero series like Marvel's Daredevil in May (though here's your reminder to start watching Daredevil if you haven't!), but that doesn't mean Netflix is slowing its original series roll. Two more new Netflix shows premiere this month - the Jane Fonda/Lily Tomlin comedy Grace & Frankie and the sci-fi drama Between, starring iCarly's Jennette McCurdy - the latter especially notable as it's the first time Netflix will release a series with one episode a week, rather than their usual "Here's the whole season at once" method.

This Week in the Nintendo eShop

It's a Mario Kart kind of week on the Wii U eShop, with the new Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack and 200CC update launching alongside the DS Virtual Console release of Mario Kart DS. Aside from that, the other big release this week is Cube Creator 3D, a Minecraft-like game on the 3DS. With only three total new releases this week, Nintendo seems to be saying to the world: "Hey, how about you play some Mario Kart?"

Cube Creator 3D ($4.99)

While seemingly every other platform in the world already has Minecraft, the 3DS does not. And it still doesn't, but Cube Creator 3D, from 3DS regulars Big John Games, promises to bring the creative crafting and survival reminiscent of Minecraft to the two-screened system. Cube Creator 3D features a Creative Mode and a Survival Mode, as well as touch screen controls and stereoscopic 3D. Also, it's only $4.99 for a limited time before it reverts to a higher price.
