Connectivity Issues Plague Halo Championship Series

ESL's Halo Championship Series was cancelled over the weekend because of further "joinability" issues with Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

47 teams from across North America had signed up for a chance to compete for the $3,000 prize pool and progression to Sunday's Legendary bracket tournament. But as connectivity issues once again reared their ugly head, the Halo twitter account announced that although the devs were aware of and investigating the problems, the tournament had to be suspended.

Has NASA Accidentally Invented a Warp Drive?

The EmDrive, an experimental propulsion device, may be producing a warp field.

According to posts on the NASA Space Flight forum, when lasers were fired into the EmDrive resonance chamber, it was found that some of the beams were travelling faster than the speed of light.

If this is true, then it would mean that the EmDrive is producing a warp field or bubble. A forum post says that "this signature (the interference pattern) on the EmDrive looks just like what a warp bubble looks like. And the math behind the warp bubble apparently matches the interference pattern found in the EmDrive."

Charlie Cox Wants The Punisher in Season 2 of Daredevil

Charlie Cox has been talking about the characters he’d like to do battle with in Season 2 of Daredevil, with the actor picking several fan favourites.

We caught up with the star just days after the second season was announced, and he said it was awesome to wake up to “an email that made me realise I have a job.”

But as for who he’d like to see appear in future episodes, Cox said “Loads really. I love Stilt-Man. I love Owlsley. I think in our show we’re more likely to see the likes of Bullseye, The Punisher and Elektra.

“I don’t know if any of those characters will appear, and also I don’t know what’s going to happen with Wilson Fisk. He’s certainly not out of the picture. Hopefully he’ll come back.”

Telesurgery Robot Is Easily Hacked

Researchers at the University of Washington have found that Raven II, a remote surgery robot, is open to cyber attacks.

The study discovered that by simply hacking the router connected to the equipment, an attacker could "maliciously control a wide range" of the robot's functions, and could even "completely ignore or override command inputs from the surgeon."

The video connection that links the surgeon to the patient is also publicly accessible. The study was designed to raise awareness of these threats before telesurgery becomes more widespread.

In other robotics news, researchers at the University of Pennsylvania have developed a robot that mimics your every move.

Cinder is Coming to Killer Instinct

Cinder is the next character coming to Killer Instinct.

The latest trailer from the official Killer Instinct YouTube channel shows Cinder in action, along with a release date of April 30 for Ultra Edition owners, and May 6 for everyone else.

We first knew about Cinder earlier this month, when Iron Galaxy Studios revealed some details about Cinder, along with a slew of concept art.

In our review of Killer Instinct, we said it “succceeds enormously at exposing all of that information to players of all skill levels. Not only is its combat system flashy and well thought out, it's well explained too, thanks to its powerful training tools, and what is easily the most complete guide to terminology and tactics ever assembled in a fighting game.”
