Dear Nintendo: Splatoon Needs a Voice Chat Option
After playing Nintendo's first round of public, online Splatoon beta matches, I'm left both indulged and annoyed. Splatoon is not only an exclusive first-party Nintendo title, but one of its rare ventures into shooters; in particular, the world of online shooters. In the hour-long beta, I fought for inked dominance with my team of paint-wielding squids, and I sat alone on my couch wishing I could strategize: holding down a key point of the map until I arrived, getting an alert from a player who needed support elsewhere, or asking about the next round of weapon coordination. According to Nintendo, it's not supporting voice chat for Splatoon.

Check Out the Action-Packed Trailer for The Strain: Season 2
Following a couple of brief teasers, the first trailer for Season 2 of FX's The Strain has now been released, and features one very clear message: "Fight or Die."
The action-packed footage shows the band of survivors, led by the CDC's Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll), as they take up arms against the neo-vampires that have come to New York City and struggle to find "a weak leak in the vampire biology" to combat the virus. Meanwhile, we get our first glimpse at newcomer Councilwoman Justine Feraldo (Samantha Mathis), who chooses all-out war against the vamps, declaring, “We’re going to take this island back one block at a time." However, that's not as easy as it sounds now that the vampires have totally overrun Manhattan, not to mention the fact that their Master is about to undergo some kind of powerful transformation.
7 Notable Game of Thrones Religions
Warning: Spoilers for all of Game of Thrones through the Season 6 premiere, "The Red Woman," follow.
No, there isn't actually a "God of T**s and Wine" (that we know of), but still, with Game of Thrones back for Season 6, we thought it would be a good time to take an updated look at who the proud, pious people on Game of Thrones actually do worship.
Now that Cersei's in a dire situation with a powerful faction of religious fundamentalists in King's Landing, religion's become a big theme on the series. Tyrion recently spotted a Red Priest in Meereen, Arya's been rendered blind by the mysterious magic hidden within the House of Black and White, and Melisandre looks to be a centuries-old witch of some sort.
Defeat Evil Pirates in New Star Citizen Minigame
A free minigame based on the art of Star Citizen is now available to play.
Called Hyper Vanguard Force IV, it's a small minigame in which a pilot attempts to take out the pirate who stole one of her most valued items.
It's playable in-browser via a virtual arcade cabinet and was created by Dave Richard and Christine Marsh using assets designed after the original concept art for Star Citizen. To play Hyper Vanguard Force IV, visit its official website.
Star Citizen is a spaceflight simulator from Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts that has amassed over $75 million in community-driven funding. They expect to collect over $100 million by the end of the year.
Is This Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Maz Kanata?
The following image claims to reveal the look of Maz Kanata -- the pirate/saloon keeper played by Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o -- in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The purported concept art seen below comes via Indie Revolver, the same site that revealed what turned out to be the first look at Episode VII's Chrome Troopers.
James McAvoy Goes Bald for X-Men: Apocalypse
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer revealed via social media today that James McAvoy's Professor X has finally lost his hair.
Singer posted this photo to his Instagram account showing McAvoy getting his head shaved accompanied by the caption: "#Xavier reborn (in process)."
No word yet on whether McAvoy's Charles Xavier lost his hair naturally or whether it was the result of some other means. He's had hair for the past two X-Men films.
X-Men: Apocalypse is now filming in Montreal. The 1980s-set movie also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, The Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Ben Hardy and Oscar Isaac.
Undateable Renewed; Moving to Weekly Live Episodes
Undateable has been renewed by NBC for Season 3, which is pretty notable for a couple of reasons. First off, this is the first NBC comedy to make it to a third season since Community - which obviously reflects on just how much trouble the network has had in this regard in recent years. And more importantly, when the show returns, it will do so with a season comprised entirely of live episodes.
NBC Renews The Night Shift; Orders Two New Series
Everyone's favorite crazy doctor who rides a motorcycle in a hospital will be back, as NBC has renewed The Night Shift! Okay, okay, none of the doctors on The Night Shift ride their motorcycle inside a hospital, but The Night Shift gave us perhaps the greatest promo photo ever and any chance to use it is a good one. See?
The first season of The Night Shift was a solid success for NBC when it aired in the summer last year, but it faltered a bit when put in the main TV season for Season 2. It remains to be seen where NBC will schedule Season 3.
