Friday the 13th Actress Betsy Palmer Dies
Betsy Palmer, best known as Jason's murderous mother, Pamela Voorhees -- the original killer in the iconic horror flick Friday the 13th -- has passed away at 88.
Palmer appeared in a number of films, TV and stage shows throughout the 50s, including quiz show I've Got a Secret, iconic musical South Pacific and war flick Mr. Roberts (alongside Henry Fonda). She took on the role of Mrs. Voorhees in 1980 to pay off her car, and was originally quite vocal about the quality of the film, famously claiming "what a piece of sh*t! Nobody is ever going to see this thing."
Star Trek 4 Limited Edition Whale Bobblehead Coming Soon
Fans of whales and Star Trek can rejoice. A limited edition Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home bobblehead figure commemorating a scene featuring Spock swimming with the whales is coming soon.
Pre-orders are live at online toy retailer Entertainment Earth for the figure made by Bif Bang Pow! It features two whales with tails that bobble (rather than the heads) and a miniature Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, who sadly passed away earlier in the year.
Lucius Fox Returns for Gotham Season 2
Lucius Fox is going to have a much bigger role to play in Season 2 of Gotham.
TVLine is reporting that Chris Chalk (The Newsroom) is set to reprise his role as Fox in the second season of Gotham.
Chalk portrayed Wayne Enterprises junior executive Lucius Fox in a small role towards the end of Season 1.
Despite his brief appearance, Fox provided essential information to young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) that help to set him on his path to becoming the Batman.
According to Gotham executive producer John Stephens, "
becomes another person who's going to help Bruce on his journey to find out what happened to his parents and what his parents were doing, and also his journey to manhood and Batman-hood.
Report: Nintendo’s Codename NX Platform Will Be Android Based
The operating system for Nintendo's platform codenamed NX will allegedly be Android based, Japanese business outlet Nikkei reports.
According to the report, found and translated by NeoGAF user duckroll, claims that NX’s operating system is Android based come via an insider source. The move to an open platform like Android is an attempt by Nintendo to give “developers more flexibility in making content that can also be on smartphones and tablets.”
The "dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept” platform was revealed in March during an announcement of Nintendo's plans to create official Nintendo smartphone games. NX’s unveiling during the briefing served to prove that the move into smartphone games wasn’t a sign of lost passion or vision for dedicated game systems.
Driveclub Servers Being Replaced as Preparation for PS+ Edition Continues
Driveclub developer Evolution has announced a “significant server upgrade” for Driveclub will be happening at 10am BST on Monday June 1 (2am PDT, 5am EDT, 7pm AEST). Game Update 1.16 will also be pushed live during this period.
Evolution has explained via the official Driveclub Facebook page that the servers that power Driveclub’s Challenges are being replaced and upgraded. Evolution notes this process will bring “bigger, better challenges and improve server performance across the game as we continue to work to make the PlayStation Plus Edition of Driveclub possible.”
The caveat is that, after the new servers are live, your Challenges and Event History will “start afresh” so Evolution has warned players to schedule challenges to end before 10am BST, June 1. Events that are still active during the update won’t continue on the new servers.

This Is What Aquaman and Wonder Woman Could Have Looked Like
Right on the heels of George Miller's wildly successful Mad Max: Fury Road, a new documentary exploring the director's cancelled Justice League movie--Justice League: Mortals--was announced. Now we've gotten our first look at the project thanks to some never-before-seen concept art.
To help create buzz around the documentary, the official Twitter account released four pieces of concept art provided to them by the artists directly involved with the film.
Two images of Princess Diana--aka Wonder Woman--were released, one with her stopping a flying car and one of her flying through Themyscria.
The Wicked + The Divine Headed to TV
Hot off its three Eisner-nominations (including one for "Best New Series"), Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson's The Wicked + The Divine is getting a small-screen adaptation, after striking a deal with Universal TV.
According to Deadline, comic book scribes Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick will produce the series under their new production company, Milkfed Criminal Masterminds, for Universal TV. The acclaimed duo recently formed Milkfed with the intention of bringing fellow indie comic creators' IP to television, starting with an adaptation of Fraction's own Image Comics series, Sex Criminals.
Game of Thrones Author Hopes to Finish Book 6 Before Season 6
The sixth Game of Thrones novel, The Winds of Winter, could debut in the next year.
According to Entertainment Weekly, George R. R. Martin is committed to wrapping up the novel ahead of the Season 6 debut of the Game of Thrones TV series.
Martin did not script an episode for the fifth season of Game of Thrones, like he had in previous seasons, and will opt out of penning any episodes for Season 6.
Suicide Squad Director Says Film Still Has Surprises
With exterior location filming now complete, Suicide Squad director David Ayer says his movie still has plenty of surprises in store despite all that's been posted on social media recently.
Ayer addressed the deluge of images and footage of the Suicide Squad cast in various scenes throughout the last few weeks on Twitter, stating it is “time to go dark” and that we’ve only seen “the tiniest glimpse” of the movie thus far.
