The Strain: Corey Stoll is Losing the Wig

The strigoi might be increasing in number, form and terror during the second season of FX's The Strain, but the residents of New York City haven't quite honed in on the terror just yet. At least that was the concern from reporters during the summer 2015 TCA (Television Critics Association) summer press tour in Los Angeles.

Showrunner Carlton Cuse, co-creators Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, and actors Corey Stoll, David Bradley, Mia Maestro and Kevin Durand took to the stage on Friday to chat all things vampires. "There is not full scale social demise yet - that happens throughout the show," Cuse explained when reporters wondered about contrasting bloody scenes with ribbon-cuttings and nights out at the batting cages. "It's willful denial and people are trying to go about their lives in New York. It’s kind of a mixed bag at this point."

Writer Greg Rucka has shared more details about the main protagonists of the comic Star Wars: Shattered Empire.

Newsarama reports that even though the teaser artwork prominently featured the familiar major characters from the original trilogy, they aren't the focus for the comic. Instead, it will feature two new Rebellion fighters, a married couple named Kes and Shara Bey.

Shara is a pilot, and Kes is the muscle. They're both exhausted Rebel veterans who mistakenly think the war is over at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Han Solo Director on Giving Audiences a Fresh Experience

Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord's next movie couldn’t be bigger, as the duo behind The LEGO Movie and 21 Jump Street are taking on one of the upcoming Star Wars standalone “Anthology” movies – focusing on a young Han Solo and written by Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Force Awakens) and his son, Jake Kasdan.

In the meantime, Lord and Miller are continuing to executive produce the FOX comedy series, The Last Man on Earth, and developing a third Jump Street film, a LEGO Movie sequel and various LEGO spinoffs - and writing a Spider-Man animated movie for Sony.

I spoke to Miller this week at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, where he was on hand to promote Season 2 of The Last Man on Earth. I’ll have more from my chat with him later about that show specifically, but we also spoke about what it’s like taking on the Han Solo film and he and Miller’s approach to Spider-Man.
