In advance of the debut, IGN has an exclusive look behind-the-scenes of the series. Check out what cast members Will Friedle (Star-Lord), Trevor Devall (Rocket), Vanessa Marshall (Gamora), Kevin Michael Richardson (Groot), David Sobolov (Drax the Destroyer) and James Arnold Taylor (Yondu) had to say about why being a Guardian is so fun and the show's mixture of action and comedy.

Note: ScreenCrush reports these details are based on an older draft of the script from before director Jordan Vogt-Roberts joined the film. Vogt-Roberts is reportedly working with an entirely new script from a new team of writers.
Mark Millar Thinks Superhero Movies Have at Least 5 Good Years Left
During a sitdown interview with Mark Millar about his comics Jupiter’s Circle and Chrononauts -- keep an eye out for the full interview soon -- IGN asked Millar for his reaction to the performance of Fox’s critically-savaged Fantastic Four movie. As a veteran comic book creator with numerous hits under his belt, Millar is a creative consultant for Fox, giving his input on decisions regarding their Marvel movies, so he has more insight on Fantastic Four than most. While he kept his comments general, they eventually led way to a discussion about the performance of the superhero movie genre and how flops are a part of the beast. He also addressed Steven Spielberg’s superhero movie doomsaying and gave his own predictions on how long the cape and cowl genre will last.
Why Nicolas Cage Turned Down Roles in Lord of the Rings, The Matrix
Had things played out differently, Nicolas Cage may've been the one to play iconic Lord of the Rings character Aragorn.
Chatting with Newsweek, the prolific star revealed that he had been offered roles in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Matrix, but was unable to accept them due to other commitments.
"There were different things going on in my life at the time that precluded me from being able to travel and be away from home for three years," he said. "There certainly were movies that I probably would have benefited from if circumstances in my life allowed me to make them."
Doctor Who’s New Companion Needs Some Changes
Doctor Who is readying for a major change in its future. Just as New Who is returning for its ninth season, fans are also grappling with the fact that Jenna Coleman will be exiting soon as Clara Oswald.
First introduced as The Impossible Girl with Matt Smith's 12th Doctor before heralding Peter Capaldi's 13th Doctor into the series, Clara -- love her or hate her -- has made her stamp on Doctor Who. But her leaving the show gives showrunner Steven Moffat an opportunity to spice things up, and as the mixed reaction to Clara proves, this is the right time for it.

AC Syndicate to Introduce Series’ First Trans Character
For the first time in the series' history, a transgender person will be featured in the upcoming Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Named Ned Wynert, this character is a trans man who acts as a supporting character and quest giver for the player. The exact nature of their connection to the story and what role they play in it remains unclear.
With this announcement, Ubisoft stresses they're working toward being more inclusive in their approach to game design, providing options to better represent the diverse array of people who play their games. This is also evident in giving players an option between playing as a male or female character in the form of Jacob or Evie Fry.
Matt Damon Would Star in Nolan-Directed Daredevil Movie
If Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan were to helm the next Daredevil movie, Matt Damon would be up for playing Marvel's blind superhero.
In an interview with The Daily News (via THR) to promote his new film The Martian, Damon explained why he turned down the opportunity to play Matt Murdock in the 2003 film, which instead starred Ben Affleck.
"For
it was always 'Daredevil' — that's the comic we read when we were kids," Damon said. "But when that one came along (in 2003) I chickened out, because I couldn't tell. I hadn't seen the director (Mark Steven Johnson's) work and I didn't know. So I just said, 'No.' Ben
How Psychonauts Almost Killed Double Fine
Psychonauts is, for very good reason, dear to the hearts of many a gamer, but creating it just about killed developer Double Fine, according to the studio’s founder, Tim Schafer.
In an interview with IGN for our upcoming show IGN Unfiltered (premiering Tuesday, September 29), Schafer provided some insight into the period of time following Microsoft’s decision to pull funding on the long-running project. It’s a dark account, including this bit about the lengths he went to in order to pay his employees:
“I borrowed money, I borrowed a lot of money to keep the studio going. I was personally on the line. I would have been in debt for the rest of my life for the money I borrowed to make payroll.”
