Jaws 19 Trailer Released as Back to the Future Tie-In

Universal Studios has released a parody trailer for Jaws 19 as part of the lead-up to the release of the Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Trilogy on Blu-ray and DVD

In case you’re unfamiliar with the reference, shortly after Marty McFly arrives in Hill Valley in 2015 he’s startled by a holographic billboard for Jaws 19. Universal’s trailer for Jaw 19 doesn’t contain much in the way of fake sharks but it does make an effort to detail every Jaws sequel that led up to it.

This Jaws 19 trailer is just the latest piece of Back to the Future-related goodness to arrive in a year that already brought us news of Power Laces, Pepsi Perfect, a somewhat limited hoverboard, and the chance to win a DeLorean time machine if the Chicago Cubs win the world series (which probably sounded like a much better idea to Chicago’s Volo Auto Museum before the Cubs actually qualified for the postseason).

Ubisoft Acquires The Crew Developer Ivory Tower

Ubisoft has acquired Ivory Tower, the studio that developed The Crew. Ubisoft has confirmed that the Lyon, France-based team is now “officially part of the Ubisoft family” via the Ubi blog.

Ivory Tower was founded back in 2007 by ex-Eden Games members Ahmed Boukhefila, Stephane Beley, Emmanuel Oualid. Building on Eden’s experience in the racing genre (which included the V-Rally series and the acclaimed Test Drive Unlimited) The Crew was Ivory Tower’s debut game. Ivory Tower worked on The Crew with the assistance of now fellow Ubisoft driving specialists, Reflections.

Ubisoft notes that The Crew has racked up more than three million players worldwide since its release.

Pubcast 124: Proudly Hated by Tim Burton

Pubcast 124 is a lot like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5: it's finally returned after a lengthy break... Broken, old-fashioned and sloppier than ever! Yep, the AU team is back with a bumper 'what we've been playing' special, along with Tristan and Cam's highlights from their recent gaming tour of Tokyo.

The Flash: WWE’s Edge Talks Atom Smasher

When The Flash returns on Tuesday, October 6th, Barry's got some nasty obstacles to overcome. In the Season 2 premiere, "The Man Who Saved Central City," a new villain makes a big sinister splash at a very inconvenient time. DC's Atom Smasher - played by former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland - aka Edge - hits the scene during a time when Barry's not really accepting outside help from friends and family. So to say The Flash is vulnerable is putting it lightly.

I spoke to Copeland about his season premiere role as Atom Smasher and got his thoughts on playing a super-powered heavy with a knack for absorbing radiation and growing into a giant. Copeland also gave his thoughts on Arrow's Stephen Amell entering into a wrestling feud with Stardust and his Syfy series Haven going into its final stretch of episodes.

Yu Suzuki Wants More Money for Shenume 3

Even though Shenmue III broke Kickstarter records, ending its campaign with over $6.3 million in funding, series creator Yu Suzuki admits the project could still use more money to fund development.

"Kickstarter's not the only source of money. There's also funding from Sony and Shibuya Productions," Suzuki told Eurogamer in an interview at Tokyo Game Show. "Before we started Kickstarter, we had goals set around the budget - so if we only got $6 million, we'd create Shenmue 3 based upon what we could do with that $6 million.

iZombie: Expect Big Fallout From S1’s Finale in Season 2

iZombie returns Tuesday night for Season 2 with a ton in motion. The show ended its first season on a notably strong note, with a terrific season finale that found Blaine (David Anders) transformed back into a human, while Liv (Rose McIver) chose to save a dying Major (Robert Buckley) by biting him… only to use her final batch of the zombie cure on him, after he made it clear he wanted no part of her undead life.

With Season 2 here, I sat down with the show’s executive producer and co-showrunner, Diane Ruggiero-Wright, to discuss what’s next for Liv and her friends, family (and estranged friends and family) in Season 2. Not to mention the source of brains Liv will be consuming in upcoming episodes, temporarily transforming her own temperament and attitude, and letting McIver show off a bevy of skills in the process.

Destiny to Get Optional Microtransactions

Bungie announced today that Tess Everis will soon be returning to The Tower in Destiny, and with her comes a few new changes.

Along with Tess' new look and storefront, microtransactions will be introduced to the game for the first time. Through Tess and the all-new Eververse Trading Company, players will be able to purchase eighteen different emotes for their Guardians beginning Tuesday, October 13.

To purchase these emotes, players will have to use "Silver," a new in-game currency purchased using real-world money via the player's platform store front.

On Bungie's official Destiny blog, community manager DeeJ confirms the emotes are strictly optional and won't impact Destiny's gameplay in any way.

The Flash: A Guide to DC’s Speedsters

Barry Allen may be one of the greatest heroes in the DC Universe, but he's not the only person tapping into the power of the Speed Force. That concept is pretty much the central theme of the second season of The CW's wildly popular TV series, debuting Tuesday night. Now that Barry has breached the barriers between dimensions, an entire multiverse of speedster heroes and villains has been unlocked. We can expect new characters like Jay Garrick, Jesse Quick, Wally West and Zoom to make their debuts this season, and those are just the characters announced so far.

But don't worry if you're having trouble separating your Kid Flashes and Reverse-Flashes. We've put together a guide that breaks down all the major speedster characters (albeit not all of them - there's a ton!) in the DCU and how they fit into Barry Allen's increasingly colorful world.
