What TWD Can Learn from Fear (And Vice Versa)

Zombies are taking over AMC, as Fear the Walking Dead's first season just wrapped its run with "The Good Man" and The Walking Dead: Season 6 premieres on October 11th.

The two shows are set during different times in the franchise's zombie apocalypse, and both have different goals; The Walking Dead has turned into a survivor drama, while the purpose of Fear's first season was to be a family drama set against a horror backdrop. But even though they are meant to serve different purposes within AMC's lineup, there still are some key points they can take away from one another.

Here is a breakdown of what The Walking Dead can learn from Fear the Walking Dead.

Apple Rumoured to Announce New 4K iMac Next Week

Apple is preparing to launch a new iMac model next week, if today's rumors are to be believed.

According to 9to5Mac, citing its own sources, Apple is planning to announce a 21.5-inch 4K iMac as part of its Fall lineup. The computer would hit stores in a limited quantity on Tuesday, October 13, but Apple will increase production as it heads into November, thereby making it more readily available.

As for the appearance of the new hardware, it will greatly resemble the non-4K, 21.5-inch iMac, but it will also feature faster graphics cards. Of course, better hardware and a 4K display will most likely lead to a higher asking price, just as the 5K iMac from last year was more expensive that its non-5K counterpart; 9to5Mac's sources didn't share pricing plans, however.

Terminally Ill 7-Year-Old Helps Police Fight Zombie Outbreak

Spencer Holt was recently able to help Florida police fight a zombie infestation.

There weren't real animated corpses, of course, but a group of local high school theater students who had applied copious amounts of makeup to make themselves look like the shambling dead.

It was all in an effort to surprise 7-year-old Holt, who is currently suffering from a terminal illness. Armed with a nerf gun and a badge, Holt accompanied the SWAT team to help them fight this mock zombie outbreak inside an old jail. See images of the event in the gallery below.

"We were truly humbled to host 7-year-old Spencer Holt on Sept. 29, 2015. Although he’s living with a terminal illness, his light is bright and his smile is even brighter," reads a post on the Pasco Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

How Does Microsoft’s Surface Book Stack Up?

Microsoft surprised everyone today when it announced the Surface Book, Microsoft's very own convertible laptop. There's no mistaking who the shots it fired were aimed at, with Microsoft comparing the Surface Pro directly to the MacBook Pro, claiming its laptop is 50% faster than Apple's.

Microsoft also made much of the Nvidia GPU and $1500 price tag, but those two things seem to be mutually exclusive, at least according to the pricing and specs shown in Microsoft's own online storefront.

Marvel’s Black Panther Has Found Its Writer

Marvel's Black Panther film has found its writer in Joe Robert Cole, according to a new report.

Sources have told Variety that Cole, a member of the in-house writing program at Marvel, is currently in negotiations to pen the movie's script. It's worth noting Guardians of the Galaxy screenwriter Nicole Perlman got her start within the very same program.

The film has yet to find a director, as Selma's Ava DuVernay decided to pass on the opportunity over creative differences. However, a new report suggests Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray is in the running.

7 Things to Know About Arrow: Season 4

Arrow returns with Season 4 on Wednesday, October 7th. The Season 3 finale saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) leave Starling City and Team Arrow behind, and when the story picks up six months after that scene, they're the very picture of domestic bliss. This is Arrow though, so of course that doesn't last. Star City, formerly known as Starling City, is in worse shape than ever before thanks to the new villain on the block, Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough).

IGN attended an early screening of the premiere and participated in a Q&A with executive producers Marc Guggenheim and Wendy Mericle. These are seven things we can look forward to in Season 4:

Follow The Martian’s Journey in This 3D Video

If you would like to experience Matt Damon's character's journey across Mars in The Martian, that's now possible thanks to this 3D video.

According to CNET, scientists at the German Aerospace Centre used image data from the Mars Express spacecraft's high-res stereo camera to reenact Mark Watney's journey across the Red Planet in Ridley Scott's hit film.

Mars Express data has been used to produce digital terrain models of Mars for nearly 12 years; this video traces Watney's journey through Chryse Planitia, Arabia Terra, and his final destination at the Schiaparelli Crater. To produce this video, Germany's DLR Institute of Planetary Research processed 2 terabytes of data from 7,300 high-resolution stereo images.
