Captain Phasma Star on How She Escaped Force Awakens

Gwendoline Christie recently addressed the unfavorable predicament Captain Phasma appears to find herself in at the conclusion of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and spoke to how she might have escaped.

"If I could be precise about this, I don't think we actually saw me inside the trash compactor," Christie told Good Morning America. "That scene didn't exist. What we saw was the threat of that. So aren't you just on tender hooks now to think about why I'm here," she added, to the laughter of her fellow cast members.

Leia’s Arc in Last Jedi Hopes to Provide ‘Catharsis’ for Fans

While Star Wars: The Last Jedi wasn't intended to be Carrie Fisher's final Star Wars movie, director Rian Johnson hopes Leia's story in the film provides a "kind of emotional satisfaction" to fans of the franchise.

"Carrie gives a really beautiful performance in the film," Johnson told Good Morning America. "We obviously didn't make the movie to be her final film—final Star Wars movie. Given that though, I think there are scenes that she has that are going to mean a lot to people," he added.

Apes 3 Dethrones Spider-Man in Box Office Debut

War for the Planet of the Apes debuted in first place at the North American box office, dethroning Spider-Man: Homecoming with an estimated $56.5 million.

Despite coming in at number one, director Matt Reeves' trilogy-capper earned significantly less than its predecessor, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which had a domestic opening of $72.6 million when it debuted in 2014. Still, the film managed to eclipse the rebooted series' first installment, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which opened in 2011 to $54.8 million.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Homecoming dropped 61 percent during its second weekend in theaters, slipping to the number two spot with an estimated $45.2 million. Director Jon Watts' superhero film debuted in first place last weekend,  surpassing Iron Man to become the biggest solo character debut in the MCU.

Mark Ruffalo on Why Solo Hulk Film ‘Will Never Happen’

It doesn't look a solo Hulk film is coming anytime soon, and Bruce Banner actor Mark Ruffalo has come forward to explain why.

Ruffalo explained that Universal still has the movie rights "and for some reason, they don't know how to play well with Marvel," adding, "they don't want to make money." KH3 Director Hints at Second Playable Character

Kingdom Hearts games have made a habit out of featuring multiple playable characters, and Kingdom Hearts 3 looks to be following in step with its predecessors, according to the game's director.

Speaking to IGN at D23 Expo, Tetsuya Nomura declined to say exactly who but did hint that Sora will not be the only playable character in Kingdom Hearts 3.

"So it would be tough to introduce many, multiple playable characters, but there is an intention of adding a playable character aside from Sora. Unfortunately we’re not able to disclose who it is yet, but there will be

," Nomura said.

Kingdom Hearts II started off by putting players into the role of Roxas, Sora's Nobody, before segueing back into making the series' protagonist playable, and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep actually featured three Keyblade-wielding playable characters. Even going back to the Game Boy Advance entry Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, players could control Riku in a second campaign after beating Sora's adventure.
