What Does the Future Hold for Hearthstone Esports?

Hearthstone is nothing short of a juggernaut these days. The game hit 70 million players as of May 1, and is currently enjoying one of the most diverse metas in its history, thanks to a new Standard rotation (where certain older sets are no longer playable in the main game mode) and the most recent expansion, Journey to Un’Goro.

Hearthstone’s esports scene is obviously a huge part of that picture too, and has grown in leaps and bounds since the early days. 2017 in particular has seen the Hearthstone Championship Tour (HCT) really find its feet and Blizzard has actively started up a number of other interesting programs.

Vicarious Visions Explains Why Crash Bandicoot Remake Is Harder Than the Original

In a new post on the Activision Games Blog Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy developer Vicarious Visions has discussed concerns regarding the difficulty of the first game in the studio’s new compilation.

“Now, we can all agree that some of the Crash levels were, and still are, not easy,” began the post, which is attributed simply to ‘Vicarious Visions staff.’

Vicarious Visions went on to explain that its goal for the trilogy was to “reduce any points of frustration while preserving the challenge of the originals.”

According to Vicarious Visions, the team used the handling from Crash Bandicoot: Warped as its starting point for the whole project but it ended up “tuning jump differently for each game, so that the jump metrics are the same as the originals.”

As of writing, you can download the app but get a server maintenance error when trying to log in (see screengrab below), so we haven't been able to test its features.

Whoopi Goldberg Wants Song of the South to Be Available

Whoopi Goldberg, the voice of Shenzi the hyena in The Lion King, has stated her desire to see the controversial 1946 film Song of the South made available in the United States of America. While Disney is usually quite happy to revisit (and remake) their classic films for the sake of their adoring fans, Song of the South has been unavailable in the USA since its 1986 40th anniversary theatrical re-release.

The film, a combination of live-action and animation, is notable as Disney's first live-action musical but has been criticized ever since its original 1946 release for its controversial depiction of its African American characters. However, elements of Song of the South remain present in popular culture, such as the Academy Award-winning song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" and the Disney ride Splash Mountain. Additionally, the movie has remained available in other countries, with the ersatz ban only existing in America.
