Overwatch: Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All Now Live

After opening up its two new modes and a new map to the PTR, Blizzard has officially made Team Deathmatch and Free-for-All available to all players in the Overwatch arcade.

Deathmatch's two flavors allow players to compete for the most kills, introducing a new scoreboard to keep track of the kill count. Team Deathmatch features 6v6 competitive play, with teams vying to reach the goal of 30 kills first. In this mode, Mercy resurrections take kills away from the opposing team's total.

Free-for-All, meanwhile, is 1v7, letting players run free to see who can most quickly pull off 20 kills.

With these new modes, which were previously available via the PTR, several maps have been adjusted to accommodate Deathmatch play. Blizzard has also introduced the new Chateau Guillard map for Free-For-All gameplay.

DC Comics’ mega-event Dark Nights: Metal might be in full swing now, but the comics publisher has a long history of embracing its metal side. What do we mean when we say metal? We mean the sort of stories that make you want throw up some horns and get in the pit. We’re talking about characters and story arcs that deserve a soundtrack from Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Converge, Iron Maiden, Neurosis, or Slayer. These are moments that invoke the blackest metal and heaviest riffs.

So sit back, prepare a ritual sacrifice and read through DC's most metal concepts, characters and stories.

What to Expect in Tomorrow’s Nintendo Switch Showcase

Nintendo is hosting a brand new Switch Showcase on Wednesday, August 30.

And while no exact games have been announced as part of the showcase video, Nintendo did reveal the focus will be on Nindies — Nintendo indie titles, many of which have a console-exclusive hook to them. (Think an early launch window or Switch-specific functionality.)

But even without knowing a single game confirmed to appear, there is still plenty we can gleam about what might be shown.

Nintendo hosted the first Nindies Switch Showcase back in February ahead of the Switch’s release. Nintendo announced 17 games for the Switch, teasing many to come throughout the following months. The lineup included games already released on other platforms, like Yooka-Laylee and Stardew Valley, as well as newly revealed games like SteamWorld Dig 2.

PSVR: The Inpatient, Bravo Team Release Dates Announced

Supermassive Games has confirmed its latest PlayStation VR offerings, The Impatient and Bravo Team will be released on November 21 and December 5, respectively.

Revealed at this year's E3, The Inpatient is a psychological horror game based in the Blackwood Sanatorium from Until Dawn. The game will take players back to the 1950s to relive the institution’s final days while playing as a character with absolutely no memory of how he got there. As players explore the grounds in an attempt to rebuild the character's memory, "your decisions and actions will determine the fate of people that you meet," much like Until Dawn.

Don’t Settle for Less, These are the Best Budget TVs for Gaming

Sure, we’d all love to play our console games on a massive $4,000 OLED 4K TV, but for most of us, that’s just beyond our budget. Many consumers balk at spending even $1,000 on a new TV. Thankfully, the best budget gaming TVs offer a surprising number of features with 4K resolutions, high-dynamic range, and even preloaded apps.

And if you already have a high-end 4K TV in the living room for watching Netflix, movies, and sports, then you can spend a lot less for a second TV for the basement or a kid’s room that will pull double duty as big gaming screen next to a gaming PC or console. Sure, you can get better color reproduction, viewing angles, brightness, and contrast if you spend more, but a cheap TV might surprise you with its features and image quality.

Telltale’s Game of Thrones: Season 2 Currently ‘On Hold’

It might be quite a while before Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series gets a second season, if recent comments from Telltale creative communications head Job Stauffer are any indication.

When asked by Eurogamer, if Season 2 of its Game of Thrones series will be released next year alongside the recently announced second season of The Wolf Among Us, Stauffer replied, "Uhhh... no. Not long after the conclusion of the first season we said would be continuing, and we had designs on the future of Telltale's Game of Thrones. Right now that is on hold."

The Games Hit Worst By Miiverse’s Closure

Well, Miiverse is closing. The strange, extremely Nintendo-y, and occasionally much-loved social network built into Wii U (and built onto 3DS) will be shuttered come November 7/8 (depending on where you live).

Aside from Super Mario Maker - which will receive a patch to continue allowing for level sharing - that change will seemingly unavoidably affect over 100 games, rendering Splatoon's busy, graffiti-filled Inkopolis hub silent, turning Super Mario 3D World or Bayonetta's Stamps even more into collectibles for the sake of collectibles, and putting a stop to creation sharing in Zelda: The Wind Waker's Tingle Bottle or the Art Academy games.

Game of Thrones: What Was Tyrion’s Final Look All About?

Warning: Spoilers for the Game of Thrones: Season 7 finale, "The Dragon and the Wolf."

One of the biggest moments to come from Game of Thrones' Season 7 finale was the long-awaited reveal of Jon Snow's true parentage (and true name).

It was a moment that came as part of a montage that also featured Bran traveling back and time to witness the secret marriage between Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark along with an intimate sex scene between Jon and (his aunt) Daenaerys while they rode on a ship to White Harbor.
