Darren Aronofsky’s mother! Inspires 12 Twisted Works of Art

What happens when you task 12 artists with translating Darren Aronofsky's latest film into works of art? The 12 gorgeous pieces of artwork that IGN can exclusively debut below.

In preparation for the upcoming release of mother!, Paramount worked with a group of artists from around the world to create the custom images featured below. Each artist was given the audio from the first trailer as inspiration, which makes it especially interesting when you see the themes that reappear in many of the works of art.

And for context on what inspired these artists, rewatch mother!'s first trailer below.

mother! stars Jennifer Lawrence as its titular heroine, a happily married woman living in a beautiful house in the country with her husband (played by Javier Bardem). Their tranquil life begins to deteriorate upon the arrival of a mysterious couple (Ed Harris and Michelle Pfieffer), whose mere presence seems to challenge all perceptions of reality.

PUBG Gets New Gun, New Town, Fog And More

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ September patch is coming to test servers today, bringing foggy weather, a new town, a new semi-automatic rifle and more details on the upcoming vaulting feature.

In a post on the PUBG Steam page, players have been given a look at a host of new features, bug fixes and soon-to-be-added features. Coming immediately to test servers will be the introduction of foggy weather to lower visibility. Don’t start sweating just yet though, as this will be a, “low probability,” weather effect in the live game (it was noted however that this will occur more frequently on the test servers).

Fortnite Battle Royale Adds Building to Its PUBG Formula

In Fortnite Battle Royale, you’ll skydive onto an island arena, scavenge for weapons, run from an encroaching electricity field, and fight your way through 99 other players to victory. Sound familiar? A carbon copy of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has found it’s way into Epic’s recently Early Access-launched crafting adventure Fortnite with many notable exceptions, but at least two major additions: building and destruction. Fortnite Battle Royale is an unexpected and disconnected addition to the main game, but one that isn’t entirely without merit.

Let’s get the negatives out of the way first. Despite feeling eerily similar to PUBG at times, the build of Fortnite Battle Royale that I played was missing a plethora of quality of life features that were sorely missed from my time spent with Battlegrounds. Vehicles, free look, aim down sights, backpacks, and the ability to sort through nearby items with an inventory screen had not yet been added. Weapon attachments, airdrops, and the ability to go prone were absent too, but those struck me more as stylistic differences.
