NYCC Exclusive Winter Gear Spider-Man Statue Is Cool, Cold

Folks in the northern hemisphere are getting ready for the onslaught of winter, and figure maker Kotobukiya is bringing the reason for the season to New York City Comic Con with this exclusive winter gear Spider-Man figure.

Sure, you could celebrate the cold by trotting out some snowmen figurines, but it's very unlikely they're nearly as awesome as Spider-Man in a hat, earmuffs, scarf, and leggings, perched on a Spider-Man logo dusted with snow.

While Kotobukiya showed off other Spider-Man figures, the winter gear variant is only available at NYCC.

As you can see from the gallery, there are Venom, black-suit Spiderman, and Carnage statues as well.

New York Comic Con is well under way, with all the excitement and reveals it entails. Marvel has already teased its exclusive Jessica Jones posters, available only during the event.

The higher pricing for new members has gone into effect today, while existing Netflix subscribers will be moved over to the new pricier rates over the next few months. Existing members will be notified of the price changes starting on October 19, with Netflix promising to notify subscribers at least 30 days in advance.

Thor 3: The More Havoc Hela Wreaks, the Stronger She Gets

Author's note: While Disney has allowed us to discuss the following plot details of Thor: Ragnarok, the super-spoilerphobic among you may want to bookmark this article and revisit it after seeing the Marvel film.

Oscar winner Cate Blanchett revealed during my visit to the set of Thor: Ragnarok last year that Hela has "a lot of unresolved issues" with Asgard, a grudge that she's nursed for eons. More details on that -- as well as details on Quentin Tarantino veteran Zoe Bell's role working with Blanchett on the film -- follow.

"Playing the goddess of death has been really interesting," Blanchett said. Death is an unsettling notion for the Western world where, as the actress put it, "death has been banished" as a topic of consideration. Hela has likewise been banished by Asgard. "She’s been banished for a very long time, and I think if you’re locked under the Asgardian stairs for five thousand years, you’d be a little bit cross," Blanchett said. "But I think it’s very interesting to bring the concept of death into a world that’s ostensibly immortal."

According to a post on the official Pokemon website, journeying through the Ultra Wormholes with the help of version exclusives Solgaleo and Lunana, players will discover the world of Ultra Megalopolis, a world that had its light stolen by Necrozma.

A tall tower stands in Ultra Megalopolis, and The Pokemon Company hints that something special may await players at the top.

In addition, it has been revealed that Ultra Wormholes have warp holes within them, leading to different worlds. Some of these warp holes even lead to the home worlds of the Ultra Beasts.

Batman & Jack Kirby Inspired Robert Kirkman’s New Comic

A new comic book from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman is coming in March 2018 called Oblivion Song. Published by Kirkman’s Skybound imprint at Image Comics, it will be drawn by Lorenzo De Felici with colors by Annalisa Leoni.

The story follows a man named Nathan Cole, who spends his days trying to rescue people from another dimension called Oblivion. A decade ago, 300,000 people and a chunk of the city of Philadelphia were inexplicably transported to Oblivion, and at the same time enormous, man-eating monsters from that nightmarish dimension came to our world and wreaked havoc on the remainder of the city. Technology to visit Oblivion was developed but all rescue missions were called off because of the dangers of Oblivion. While most of society has moved on and the government considers the victims of the tragedy a loss, something is driving Nathan to keep going back, risking his life day after day.
