Guest Column: Channel Zero Creator’s 7 Favorite Creepypastas

Editor's Note: In support of Channel Zero: No-End House's season finale on Syfy, airing Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT, IGN asked showunner, creator and executive producer Nick Antosca to share with our readers the creepypastas -- or Internet horror stories turned urban legends -- that inspire him.

Season 2 of Syfy's horror anthology series Channel Zero is based on the famous creepypasta "No-End House," after Season 1 was inspired by "Candle Cove." No-End House tells the story of a group of friends who get trapped in a viral haunted house that is not at all what it seems. Remember: beware the cannibals.

South Park Devs Talk Delays, Design, and What’s Next

For a company with dozens of studios around the world and massive franchises like Assassin’s Creed and the Tom Clancy games, it would seem like there’s little place for risk in such a big organization. But that’s just what Ubisoft San Francisco, the studio behind Rocksmith and South Park: The Fractured But Whole, prides itself on delivering within Ubisoft’s lineup.

“If we were making the next Far Cry or another Assassin's Creed, people would say, ‘Why are you making it in San Francisco,’” Ubisoft SF head and South Park Executive Producer Nao Higo told IGN with a laugh. “You already have great studios in the rest of the world, in a lot cheaper locations…. We have to be different and take chances, take risks, and do something that maybe the larger organization would shy away from dedicating 1,000 people to work on.”

CERN Scientists Conclude that the Universe Should Not Exist

Scientists at CERN are bemused as to why the universe exists, according to a new study.

As Cosmos Magazine reports (via The Independent), recent discoveries suggest that there's a perfect symmetry between matter and antimatter - meaning it's not clear why they didn't annihilate each other upon the birth of the universe.

CERN's latest study sought to find out whether different magnetic properties accounted for matter's seeming victory after the Big Bang, but found another point of symmetry.

The Walking Dead Season 8 Premiere Lowest-Rated Since S3

The Walking Dead's 100th episode is the zombie drama's lowest-rated season premiere since 2012's Season 3, and the third-lowest in the series' history.

Nielsen ratings (as reported by Variety) for Sunday night's episode put the total viewers at 11.4 million. By comparison, last season's opener hit 17.03 million.

Only Seasons 1 and 2 had lower-rated premiere episodes - although it's worth pointing out that Season 8 did not start by resolving a cliffhanger, as other seasons have.

These are still strong numbers when compared to the rest of the industry, but its a steep drop for a show that's gained viewers with each season, by and large.

We've been a little divided over the latest episode - our 7.3 review called it "a good set-up episode, but because we were only given the initial stages of this conflict, the stakes fell a bit flat." Some of our other editors were less taken, calling it an all-out bore.

Thor: Ragnarok Finally Solves Marvel’s Biggest Plothole

You know the Infinity Gauntlet? That big glove in the Marvel Cinematic Universe specifically designed to hold all six infinity stones and turn the wearer into basically a God? Well, eagle eyed Marvel fans have been confused by something about it for a while now and Thor: Ragnarok finally clears all that up.

Odin's Vault (Thor, 2011). Odin's Vault (Thor, 2011).

We first saw the Infinity Gauntlet in the background of Odin’s Trophy Room in the first Thor film when The Destroyer was popping off against the Frost Giants. Notice this one is a right handed gauntlet. Why is this important? Well, the next time we see the gauntlet in the MCU was in the Avengers: Age of Ultron mid credits scene.
