Jumanji Becomes One of 2017’s Top-Grossing Films

After finally reaching the No. 1 spot at the box office in its third weekend in theaters, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has become one of 2017's most successful films domestically, and an impressive performer overseas, too.

The Jumanji sequel's chart-topping box office weekend — in which the film overtook Star Wars: The Last Jedi's run atop the weekly box office — pushed it to nearly $245 million domestically in total. That makes Welcome to the Jungle 2017's ninth most successful film, overtaking Justice League (which currently sits at about $227 million domestically) and pushing Logan out of 2017's top 10 grossing domestic films. The film spent two weekends at No. 2 before beating Insidious: The Last Key and reigning box office champ The Last Jedi this past weekend.

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition Listed by ESRB

The ESRB has published a rating for Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition, indicating the JRPG might soon be getting some sort of a re-release.

Not much is currently known about this Royal Edition since the ESRB description is identical to the original title. However, it seems likely this repackaged version would bundle the base game with all of FFXV's post-launch content, which includes the Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis story episodes, and the Comrades multiplayer DLC.

Explaining the Complicated History of Shazam

There was a time when Shazam (aka Captain Marvel) was the most popular superhero in the world. And maybe that time will come again, as a live-action Shazam movie starring Zachary Levi as the World's Mightiest Mortal is now here.

But who is this magical powerhouse, and how do Shazam and his powers fit into the larger DC Universe? Read on to learn everything you need to know about Shazam.

Shazam Explained: The Basics

Shazam is proof that the superhero business doesn't need to be reserved for adults. Young Billy Batson is an orphan who caught the eye of a powerful but aging wizard who granted him amazing magical abilities and tasked him with defending the Rock of Eternity (an enchanted place at the nexus of space and time). Whenever Billy utters the word "Shazam!", he transforms into a powerful hero with abilities to rival those of Superman himself.

Nintendo Switch Beats Wii U Lifetime Sales in Japan

The Nintendo Switch has now sold more units in Japan than the Wii U did in its lifetime.

As reported by Famitsu (and spotted by Twitter's Nibel), the Switch's latest sales data puts it at 3,407,158 to the Wii U's 3,301,555.

The Switch has been available for just over 10 months - the Wii U has been on sale for a little over 5 years. Japanese buyers have preferred handheld experiences in recent years, which perhaps explains Switch's sales dominance over its predecessor.

The hybrid console has already proven itself to be a move in the right direction for Nintendo, and is expected to surpass Wii U's global lifetime sales this year. In December, Nintendo said Switch had topped 10 million units worldwide - Nintendo reports that Wii U sold 13.56 million.
