7 Things We Hope Dark Souls Remastered Fixes
Dark Souls is getting a long-awaited and much-deserved revisit in the form of Dark Souls Remastered, coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and — surprisingly — Nintendo Switch on May 25, 2018.
As a game that, in only a handful of years, defined a generation of games and whose influence will probably be seen for years to come, Dark Souls doesn’t have a whole lot we’d ask FromSoftware to drastically change. But there are a few ways we’re excited to see the beloved adventure improved for current gen platforms, and for the incoming wave of new Dark Souls fans.
Warner Bros. Sets Shazam! Release Date
The Zachary Levi-led Shazam! movie now has a release date.
Warner Bros. announced the DC superhero film will open in theaters on April 5, 2019, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The release of Shazam! is just one month ahead of Marvel Studios' still-untitled fourth Avengers film, which makes its theatrical debut on May 3, 2019, and four months after DC's Aquaman solo movie, which opens on December 21, 2018.
Levi will star as Earth's Mightiest Mortal, while Disney Channel star Asher Angel will play Billy Batson, who, by simply saying "Shazam!" can transform into the adult superhero. IT star Jack Dylan Grazer will play Billy's best friend, Freddy Freeman, and Mark Strong is in talks to play the movie's villain.
John Wick TV Show, The Continental, Coming to Starz
Starz and Lionsgate are developing a John Wick TV series titled The Continental, Starz announced at the Television Critics Association winter 2018 press tour.
The show will be set in the John Wick universe and take place in a hyper-real version of Los Angeles, with the story focusing on the inner workings of the Continental Hotel. Starz promises the series will maintain the same fast-paced action and dry humor from the two John Wick films.
Speaking at the TCA winter press tour, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht said "the show and the movies exist side by side" and noted "it’s unclear what Keanu’s role will be. The show is not designed to have him in the lead
we’re very excited for it."
Gillian Anderson Reveals Why She’ll Never Do Another X-Files Series
After 11 seasons and more than 200 episodes of The X-Files, Gillian Anderson has revealed that the current run of episodes will be her last -- and she wants to make it clear that "this is it for me," regardless of whether creator Chris Carter and co-star David Duchovny choose to continue.
At a recent panel for the series at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Anderson explained how she came to the decision, admitting that when she signed up for Season 10, she believed that those six episodes would be her last hurrah as Special Agent Dana Scully, but the pitch for the current season -- which was bumped up to 10 episodes -- changed her mind.

Awards seasons has got hold of the IGN UK team and they went off to see a flurry of worthy films this week. Gav was bang into I, Tonya, Rory was feeling Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Simon ran a bit lukewarm on The Shape of Water and they all stepped out to the premiere of The Post.
There's also sexy times to be had with a Nintendo Direct and the announcement that we'll be going back to Lordran when Dark Souls comes to the Switch.
That's not all! There's a dramatic Keyword Countdown and due to tangible demand we have the return of Cardy's Football Manager Update (we really need a new name for that segment)
12 Years a Slave Writer Explores DC Comics’ Secret History
DC Comics has enlisted Oscar-winning screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) to helm an ambitious new project that offers a more racially and politically charged look at the history of the DC Universe.
Dubbed The Other History of the DC Universe, this limited series will center on heroes from various marginalized groups in the DCU, be they racial minorities, members of the LGBT community or even aliens. Ridley's story will reexamine key events in DC lore from the perspective of these characters and chronicle their respective struggles to embrace their true selves.
Marvel’s Smart Approach to Linking Movies and Comics
Last week Marvel revealed the latest addition to the ever-growing line of X-Men comics, Exiles. This revival of the fan-favorite early 2000's series follows the same basic premise as the original series, with mutant teleporter Blink leading an eclectic team of heroes in a quest to protect the Marvel multiverse. Perhaps the biggest twist in this new announcement, however, is the fact that the team will include a new version of Valkyrie modeled very directly on Tessa Thompson's portrayal of the character in Thor: Ragnarok. It's the latest example of Marvel tweaking its comics to make them more like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But where some of Marvel's past attempts at superhero synergy have failed, this new Valkyrie suggests they're learning from their mistakes.
