PUBG Getting Its First Event Pass This Week

A new map isn't the only thing coming to PUBG on PC this week. On Friday, PUBG's PC version will also get its first Event Pass, a limited-time system that will unlock in-game item rewards when players level up by completing specific missions. It seems very similar to Fortnite's Battle Pass.

"The Event Pass is designed to reflect the opinions of players who wanted a trackable progression-related system, and at the same time allows you to unlock new content in PUBG in a way that is different from the crate and key system," reads a PUBG Steam post.

Inside and Limbo Finally Coming to Switch This Month

Independent developer Playdead's dark and wonderful games are finally making their way to Nintendo Switch.

Limbo and Inside will launch worldwide June 28 on Switch on June 28, as initially reported by Famitsu and then later confirmed on Playdead's Twitter account.

Limbo tells the mysterious story of a lost little boy traveling through a treacherous landscape. It initially released in July 2010 as part of that year's Xbox Live Summer of Arcade.

Inside, initially released June 2016, tells a similar story of a small boy trying to escape some bizarre internment camp where horrifying experiments are conducted. Its unforgettable ending will surely make you at least mildly uncomfortable.

AMC Launches MoviePass-Like Service

AMC is directly taking on MoviePass with a new service called AMC Stubs A-List.

For $20 a month, AMC Stubs A-List members can see three movies per week, including IMAX and 3D showings at AMC theaters. In addition, the service will allow people to order tickets online and even make reservations in advance, as there is no physical card.

The A-List service — which officially begins June 26 — also offers AMC Stubs Premiere benefits, like free upgrades on popcorn and soda. Plus, repeat viewings of movies is acceptable.

MoviePass and AMC have a rocky history, though you can use MoviePass once again at the latter company's theaters. MoviePass offers a movie-a-day subscription for $10 each month, though repeat viewings are a no-go.

Aquaman: Atlanteans Will Ride ‘Sea Dragons’, Sharks, and More Into Battle

Aquaman will feature Atlanteans riding seahorses, just like the comics, except we're calling them sea dragons now.

James Wan's take on Aquaman is aiming to be a far cry from the comics, where the character has become a bit of a running joke. Aquaman's trusty steed will also be getting a change of image, having been re-branded as a 'sea dragon' that will carry Atlanteans into battle alongside a host of other aquatic creatures.

EW has an exclusive first look at a new batch of official photos from the film, including one of an underwater gathering of Atlanteans astride their various underwater mounts:

Street Fighter 5 is getting the equivalent of loot boxes as part of this week's big update.

Street Fighter 5 is getting an update this week which makes improvements to Survival Mode and adds new obtainable skins. However, the update also introduces a system called Fighting Chance.

Fighting Chance sees playable character Menat opening her own Fortune Teller establishment. If you spend 500 Fight Money (the in-game currency), you will get a 'Fantasy Fortune Reading', which contains multiple, random items - some of which are exclusive to Fighting Chance.

New American Girl Doll Set Comes With Pretend Xbox One S

American Girl has unveiled an Xbox Gaming Set for its line of dolls, complete with a pretend Xbox One S and gaming chair.

American Girl has apparently partnered up with Xbox for its newest set, which includes everything your doll needs for a sweet gaming set-up. The Xbox Gaming Set was revealed earlier this week, and Xbox's Larry Hyrb tweeted out the newest addition to the American Girl store yesterday.

"And now for something completely different: You can now get an American Girl Doll with an 'Xbox Gaming Set' - a console, controller, headset and her own gaming chair," he tweeted.

Kingdom Hearts 3: Switching Between English and Japanese Voiceover ‘Difficult’ Right Now

Kingdom Hearts 3 director, Tetsuya Nomura, has said that switching between the English and Japanese voiceovers in the game is proving difficult to support.

Nomura mentioned the difficulties in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, via Gematsu, saying that the differences in lip syncing to the audio is causing the issue. It's not clear from the interview whether it's something the studio is continuing to look into solving.

Nomura also touched on the size of the game as a whole, saying that some in-engine cutscenes are being turned into pre-rendered movies to reduce load times.

Pokémon Quest Coming to Mobile Next Week

Pokémon Quest is coming to mobile on June 28.

According to a tweet from the Japanese Pokémon Twitter account, RPG Pokémon Quest is coming to iOS and Android devices. The tweet reveals that Pokémon Quest has been downloaded on the Nintendo Switch 2.5 million times worldwide, and that pre-registration for mobile versions of the title start from today.
