New Venom Footage Teases More Symbiotes
Director Ruben Flesicher confirmed the symbiote Riot will appear in Venom, and there may be more villains to come in the Sony Marvel film.
During the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H Sony panel this year, new footage showcased another symbiote in the mix for the film. Fleischer confirmed on the panel that this is indeed the symbiote Riot, one of The Five Symbiotes. According to IGN editors who saw the footage, the footage also possible teased the symbiote Scream, as a yellow symbiote was also seen. The identity was not confirmed, however.
As for further confirmation, Fleischer did confirm that Michelle Williams is playing Anne Weying following previous reports, who is Eddie Brock's (Tom Hardy) ex-girlfriend in the film. This is a slight alteration of the comic, as Anne is Eddie's ex-wife there. In the comics, Anne also takes on the identity of She-Venom, however no mention of that particular symbiote was made at the panel.
The Batman Who Laughs Returns in November
The recent Dark Nights: Metal crossover introduced a fearsome new villain in the form of The Batman Who Laughs, a twisted version of Batman who becomes the Joker. Now that villain will be returning to the spotlight in the form of a new miniseries from writer Scott Snyder and artist Jock.

That was the biggest news to hit at DC's Justice League panel at Comic-Con this afternoon. The Batman Who Laughs is a horror-oriented series that again pits Batman against his twisted mirror image. But this time the Batman Who Laughs will have a new partner. The series will introduce another Dark Knight from the Dark Multiverse, one who's become obsessed with guns ever since shooting Joe Chill as a child.
How Green Lantern Corps Will Be Different from the First Green Lantern Movie
Speaking with IGN during our Comic-Con 2018 live show, DC’s Geoff Johns said the upcoming Green Lantern Corps movie will “reinvent” the character’s movie presence.
“It’s a complete re-imagining, just like I did Green Lantern: Rebirth in the comics,” Johns said. He explained that the big differences were more than just the fact that it will star John Stewart alongside Hal Jordan.

Johns likened it to Green Lantern: Rebirth more than once, so it could be that it will follow some of that run’s plot points as well. He even said “if you’ve read my Green Lantern run… it’s very much in line with some stuff we did in there.”
Three New Spider-People Introduced in New Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Footage

Sony has had a challenge figuring out how to capitalize on its Spider-Man license in recent years outside of the MCU, but they seem to be on the right track now with not only a solo Venom movie on the way but also the fun-looking Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated film. Into the Spider-Verse doesn’t just (finally) give us the fan favorite Miles Morales version of Spidey, but it also introduces Spider-Gwen alongside a bunch of other Spider-People. And yes, Peter Parker’s there too!
Voice actors Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Jake Johnson (Peter Parker), Hailee Steinfeld (Spider-Gwen) and producers Chris Miller and Phil Lord (The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street, etc.) took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con today to talk about Into the Spider-Verse and how it introduces a whole new world for fans of Spider-Man on the big screen.
Halloween’s Jamie Lee Curtis Tells the Nicest Story About John Carpenter
Jamie Lee Curtis swung by IGN Live at Comic-Con 2018 today to promote her upcoming film Halloween, a direct follow-up to the 1978 horror classic that launched her to stardom, during which time she paid tribute to that film's director, John Carpenter, by telling us a sweet anecdote about what kind of a man he is.
"I’m going to tell you something about John, which is interesting because it just popped in my mind. Sp the first of shooting the original movie in 1978, the phone rang at the apartment i was living in with my friend Tina, at the end of that first day. And she said, 'Jamie, it’s John Carpenter.' And I was like (gasps). I thought I was going to be fired because I’d worked a day and that happens a lot."
Why Robin Said ‘f*** Batman’ in the Titans Trailer
During IGN’s Comic-Con 2018 live show, DC’s Geoff Johns discussed the plot of Titans, as well as why Robin said “F*** Batman” in its reveal trailer.
“That’s actually part of the story of Titans,” Johns explained. “This is after he’s obviously split from Batman if that wasn’t clear enough.” Johns continued by saying that why Robin left Batman and what happened between them is going to be explored in Titans.

We Will Visit Cybertron in the Bumblebee Movie

Paramount Pictures brought Transformers to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H today. Well, actually, they brought a Transformer: Bumblebee. Director Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings) and stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. were in town to talk about why this new Transformers movie is very different from the previous entries in the series.
The film, which is set in 1987, sees Bumblebee teaming up with Steinfeld’s character (and returning to his familiar Volkswagen Beetle form from the old days rather than the more modern Camaro). The pair will be dealing with some Decepticons, including Shatter, voiced by Angela Bassett, who turns into a red Plymouth Satellite, and Dropkick, voiced by Justin Theroux, who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin.
This Epic New Star Wars Comic Spans the Entire Saga
Marvel's Star Wars comics have covered a wide swath of the Star Wars timeline, ranging from the Prequels to the Original Trilogy to the new sequels. But for the first time, they'll be publishing a comic that attempts to tackle all three of these time periods at once.

As revealed at the Lucasfilm Publishing panel at Comic-Con today, Marvel is developing a new maxi-series project that comprises three books - Star Wars: Age of Republic, Star Wars: Age of Rebellion and Star Wars: Age of Resistance. This project will span 30 issues in total, with each issue spotlighting one hero or villain from a particular era
Batman’s Classic Costume Returns This Summer
Superman isn't the only DC hero to go back to his classic look in 2018. Batman will also be returning to his pre-New 52 costume, trunks and all.

That news came during DC Comics' Batman Family panel today. Batman writer Tom King revealed that the wardrobe change happens in Batman #53 next month. There the Caped Crusader will dust off his early 2000's costume, made famous by stories like Hush. As King explained, Batman's need to move on from his failed relationship with Catwoman compels him to make the switch. It appears that the days of the DC Rebirth Batman costume are done.
Joss Whedon Developing Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV Reboot
Joss Whedon and 20th Century Fox are developing a TV reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
THR reports Monica Owusu-Breen has been hired to write the script for the remake, with Whedon executive producing and working with Owusu-Breen on the screenplay. The pair worked together on Agents of SHIELD.
A black actress will play the lead role of Buffy, though there's no word yet on official casting. This new take will reportedly build on the mythology of the original while being contemporary.
Gail Berman, Joe Earley, and Fran and Kaz Kazui (the producers behind the original series) will executive produce alongside Whedon. A network is not attached yet, and there's also no word yet on who'll be directing the reboot.
