Overwatch League Aiming to Add 6 New Franchises Next Season

The Overwatch League is reportedly aiming to add six new teams for Season 2, with a new North American team from Atlanta already confirmed.

ESPN reports that Cox Enterprises, a Georgia-based conglomerate, will be funding the Atlanta team following a private owners' meeting last week. Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick and Overwatch League commissioner Nate Nanzer were in attendance. Representatives from McCourt Global and Nenking Group are reportedly in talks to secure regional rights for Paris, France and Guangzhou, China.

According to Activision Blizzard Esports Leagues CEO Pete Vlastelica, the league is looking to add six new teams across Europe, North America, and Asia-Oceania for next season.

Netflix Exec Says Network ‘Happy’ to Keep Making Master of None

Netflix wants to continue making new seasons of Master of None with Aziz Ansari.

During Netflix's panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, the company's vice president of original series Cindy Holland addressed the show's future after sexual misconduct allegations were made against Ansari last year. Holland confirmed Netflix is still interested in working with Ansari moving forward.

"We certainly have given some thought to it," Holland said, when asked if Master of None season 3 will happen. "We would be happy to make another season of Master of None when Aziz is ready."

The second season of Master of None premiered on Netflix on May 12, 2017. In our review of Season 2 we say, "Master of None returns with an ambitious, confident and overall fantastic season featuring love, laughter and longing."

Monster Hunter World Passes 8 Million Copies Sold Before PC Launch

Monster Hunter World's sales have surpassed 8 million units on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter World's physical shipments and digital sales have hit 8.3 million units as of the last fiscal quarter, which saw the company's net sales increase by 46.5% year-over-year.

"In this business, the phenomenal success of Monster Hunter: World (for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) from the previous fiscal year continued, with the title gaining further popularity through the expansion of its user base. In scoring a worldwide smash hit, the series solidified its position as an international brand and strengthened our base of IP," Capcom said.
