Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Shannon Play Spy Games in New AMC Thriller
This September, IGN is featuring the best TV coming your way in the 2018-2019 season. Today we're spotlighting The Little Drummer Girl, an upcoming AMC limited series based on the 1983 spy thriller from novelist John le Carré - the second AMC adaptation of the author's work, following 2016's The Night Manager. The Little Drummer Girl stars Florence Pugh as Charlie, a British actress who falls in love with a man named Becker (Alexander Skarsgård), only to discover she's actually being recruited into a complex plot to hunt down a Palestinian terrorist. Little Drummer Girl is also notable for serving as the TV directorial debut for acclaimed Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook. We were able to talk with showrunners Simon and Stephen Cornwell about the new series, why it's as much a love story as a thriller, and why Park was so eager to participate in the show. Dave Bautista Is Returning to WWE for SmackDown 1000
On Tuesday, October 16, Evolution will be reuniting for WWE SmackDown’s 1,000th episode, which includes the return of Dave Bautista.
Evolution consists of some of the most successful Superstars in WWE history, with 49 world championship reigns between the four members: Tripple H, Batista, Randy Orton and Ric Flair. The announcement came from WWE announcer Mike Rome on Friday.
Dave Bautista (under his famous ring name Batista) became a six-time WWE world champion by winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship four times and the WWE Championship twice.
Many didn’t think he’d make it to the SmackDown 1000 event, as earlier this month he Tweeted out that he hadn’t been invited. Well, it looks like that won’t be the case, and the entire Evolution crew will be back together for the historic occasion.
Minecraft: Dungeons Announced for PC
Minecraft: Dungeons, a brand new game set in the world of Minecraft, is coming to PC in 2019, Mojang announced today during Minecon Earth 2018.
Being developed internally by a "small and dedicated team" within Mojang, the developer describes Minecraft: Dungeons as an "action-adventure game inspired by classic dungeon crawlers." It'll support up to four players and feature various new weapons, items, and mobs, as well as a variety of environments to explore and an overarching quest that'll see players face off against an enemy called the Arch-Illager.
"When I think of Minecraft I think about it as a multiverse," Jens Bergensten, lead developer at Mojang told IGN. "Dungeons is essentially one Minecraft world with specific areas to go to, specific quests, and specific monsters. That said there are of course procedural elements to the game.”
Minecraft Village and Pillage Update Announced
Minecraft's next big update, which will add Pillagers and over 10 new Villagers, is coming in 2019, Mojang announced today during Minecon Earth 2018.
Appropriately titled Village and Pillage, the update introduces Pillagers, an unfriendly group of characters equipped with dangerous Beasts. Players will have the ability to defend villages from Pillager attacks.
The update will also bring eleven new Villagers to the world of Minecraft, including the Librarian, Butcher, Cleric Cartographer, Leatherworker, Fletcher, Shepherd, Farmer, Fisher, Armorer, Toolsmith, and Weaponsmith. Each new Villager will have unique design variations depending on which biome they're found in.

In its original announcement, Sony did note that users will need to connect their PS4’s to the internet every few days to verify their PS Now subscription to play downloaded titles, but an always-on, super-fast internet connection won’t be necessary for this verification.

Now, let's get a few things straight: We aren't counting the Animal Crossing Amiibo cards. There are A LOT of those, but 2D cards don't really feel like they qualify as full-on Amiibo. (Though we did include the cereal box Amiibo, that's 3D, right?) Additionally, there are four figurines from the Skylanders games, but they actually do double as official Amiibo. Additionally, the Mr. Game & Watch Amiibo has four interchangeable poses sold in a bundle with only one base, technically making it a single Amiibo.

Resistance follows Kazuda "Kaz" Xiono (Christopher Sean), "a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order." The new series premieres Sunday, Oct. 7 on Disney Channel.
Following in the footsteps of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance aims to fill in a period of time that remains unexplored in the franchise's main saga - taking place before the events of The Force Awakens to offer insight into the inner workings of the Resistance and its scrappy band of rebel pilots and spies.
My Hero Academia Season 4 Confirmed
The hit anime series My Hero Academia is getting a fourth season.
Season 4 was confirmed at the end of the Season 3 finale, "Unrivaled," which aired today. "My Hero Academia, TV anime season four, is being made!" reads the subtitled version of the finale on Crunchyroll. Check out the gallery below to see the announcement.
A premiere date for Season 4 has yet to be announced, with the episode's end card simply saying, "coming soon."
Given the series' incredible success, news of a fourth season is hardly surprising. Season 2 was IGN's 2017 Anime of the Year and Season 3 earned a spot on our list of the 6 best anime of 2018 so far.
Why the PS4 Spider-Man Deserves His Own Comic
Marvel Comics released Spider-Geddon #0 this week. While that comic serves as a direct lead-in to the upcoming Spider-Geddon crossover, that's by no means the only selling point. Spider-Geddon #0 is notable for serving as the comic book debut of the Peter Parker of Marvel's Spider-Man video game on PS4. And if this issue accomplished anything, it's showing how much potential this version of Spidey has for his own ongoing comic book series.
