Wonder Woman 84: Beautiful New Poster Revealed Ahead of DC FanDome Trailer Drop
Wonder Woman 1984 has received a beautiful and stylish new poster ahead of its DC FanDome trailer drop.
WW84 director Patty Jenkins tweeted the new poster today alongside "many fun new things ahead...see you TOMORROW!! Who's ready? #TRAILERDROP." DC FanDome begins tomorrow, Aug. 22, when Part 1 of the show goes live. The event was previously a 24-hour digital-only event before it was split into a two-part celebration of DC and a new WW84 trailer will drop during the first part tomorrow.
The last trailer released for the movie was released back in December 2019. A second trailer hasn't yet been released so tomorrow's will be the first glimpse at new footage in nearly a year. This new poster above features a colorful retro palette and matches previously-released posters for the film.
WW84 features the return of characters like Steve Trevor while the titular hero finds herself in the 1980s facing off against Kirsten Wiig's Cheetah and Pedro Pascal's Maxwell Lord. Not much more is known about the movie's story although there's plenty to glean from the information we already know.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2019/12/09/wonder-woman-1984-trailer-breakdown-rewind-theater"]
Much of the movie's news as of late has been about its frequent delays. The movie was originally slated for November 1, 2019, before getting postponed to June 5, 2020. It was delayed once more to Aug. 14 and it now has a release date of Oct. 2. The movie industry as a whole has seen widespread delays as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the start of the pandemic, fans have wondered how movies like WW84 would fare. Some movies like Universal's Trolls World Tour went to streaming services, completely bypassing theaters. Others have taken a more premium route, like Disney's Mulan. AT&T boss John Stankey recently commented on the possibility of a video-on-demand release for WW84, explaining that it's unlikely. For now, though, it seems WW84 is aiming for a silver screen release this October.

Borat 2 Has Reportedly Already Been Filmed and Screened
UPDATE: Borat 2 is reportedly already done filming and has even been screened for some industry people.
According to Collider, Borat 2 has already been shot on location around L.A. Plot details and even who is involved in making the film beyond star-creator Sacha Baron Cohen remains murky.
"It’s unclear who is paying for the sequel, but it wouldn’t surprise us if Borat 2 was being financed by a deep-pocketed streamer," Collider reports, adding, "Some believe it will be released prior to the election in an effort to reach younger voters."
Our original report from August 21 follows.
[poilib element="accentDivider"]
Borat 2 is seemingly being filmed in Los Angeles as recent footage of the character has surfaced on YouTube.
Borat, or as it was officially titled, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, was released in 2006 as a comedy. It found an audience that still quotes the movie today but over the years, the film has continued to draw criticism for its depiction of someone from Kazakhstan, especially as it's portrayed by Sacha Baron Cohen, who is not Kazakh.
Cohen, who plays the character, is seemingly bringing the character back for new audiences as seen in the footage here. You can check out what appears to be Cohen as the character below.
If that's not enough to make you believe Cohen is up to something with the character, here's a shot from later in the video where you can see a camera crew filming Cohen's antics.
Assuming Cohen is filming Borat 2, it would be the first major character of his to make a return for a sequel. Borat was Cohen's breakout role for many but other characters like Bruno and Da Ali G have gone on to find their own fame. As arguably Cohen's most popular character, it makes sense for Borat to receive a sequel out of his entire catalog of characters.
There's no official confirmation or word of Borat 2 but the proof of something related to the character is in the video. Perhaps it's something for TV or YouTube. Only time will tell. Borat is about a Kazakh journalist that travels to and throughout the U.S. to make a documentary. It features actual interviews between Borat and people in the U.S, often completely unscripted.
For more Cohen, read about a possible comedy interview series he has in the works and then read about Bruno's best TV moments. If you're looking for something funny, be sure to check out IGN's list of the 25 best comedies.

Exclusive DC FanDome Merchandise Showcases DC’s Black Heroes
While we're looking forward to all the news and trailers in store at DC FanDome, we can't forget that exclusive swag is half the fun of any comic convention. And FanDome is no exception, even if it's an entirely virtual event.
DC fans will be able to purchase all sorts of exclusive merch from the FanDome website, including a series of customizable products from Designed by Humans. Fans will be able to select from various images drawn by popular DC artists and have those images printed on clothing, phone cases, pop sockets and tote bags. Or, if you're a purist you can just order the images as art prints.
IGN can exclusively debut several pieces of art drawn by Ken Lashley, whose past DC work includes Batman, Red Hood and the Outlaws, Superman/Wonder Woman and Suicide Squad. Lashley has created a new series dubbed DRAWN: Black DC Super Heroes, spotlighting some of the most popular black heroes in the DCU like Green Lantern John Stewart, Vixen and Black Lightning. Check out his new work, along with a special Juneteenth-inspired design from Denys Cowan, in the slideshow gallery below:
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=dc-fandome-exclusive-merchandise-showcases-dcs-black-heroes&captions=true"]
Lashley will also be appearing in his own FanDome panel, Drawn: Black DC Super Heroes With Ken Lashley, where he reflects on his career and gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at how he creates his art. The panel will be available to view in the InsiderVerse portal on the FanDome website.
Other items being offered exclusively at DC FanDome include a Supergirl LEGO mini-figure, a pre-release Wonder Woman 1984 LEGO set featuring Wonder Woman and Cheetah and a "Venus Williams X Wonder Woman" athletic wear collection. The official DC FanDome store launches August 22 at 10 a.m. PT at shop.dcfandome.com.
DC FanDome is a two-part event that will officially launch online on Saturday, August 22. In the absence of a big DC presence as part of ComicCon@Home this year, it seems like this will be the place for any major DC news in 2020, with a huge guest list of stars taking part in the virtual fan-first experience hosted on the DC FanDome site, which will offer multiple language options for fans around the globe.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/20/ben-affleck-will-play-batman-in-the-flash-movie-ign-now"]
We've already gotten several big announcements before FanDome has officially begun, including a look at the official logo for The Batman and confirmation that Ben Affleck's Batman is returning in The Flash movie.

Fortnite vs. Apple: Epic Turns Its Legal Dispute Into an In-Game Event
Epic Games has turned its feud with Apple into an in-game Fortnite event, the #FreeFortnite Cup.
Epic Games released a blog post detailing an in-game tournament meant to "celebrate the quest for one more Victory Royale with friends across all platforms." What it really is though, beyond a final chance for iOS users to play with others before the game is updated for Chapter 2 - Season 4 (an update iOS players will currently not be able to install), is another opportunity for Epic Games to highlight its ongoing feud with Apple.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/13/fortnite-1984-apple-parody-video-short"]
This problems came to a head last week when Epic Games lowered the price of V-Bucks across all platforms, including a new "direct payment" option on mobile devices. This was done in an effort to call out companies like Apple on "exorbitant" payment fees in the process. Apple removed Fortnite from its App Store soon after as the direct payment option allegedly broke the rules and Epic, seemingly prepared for this action, filed a lawsuit against the company. Epic's dispute against Apple is heading to Fortnite itself once again with the #FreeFortnite Cup.
"These are the final days of the entire Fortnite community ability's to play together," the post reads. "Apple has blocked Fortnite from the App Store, preventing players from updating to new versions. Players on iOS devices will be left behind on Chapter 2 - Season 3 while everyone jumps into the Chapter 2 - Season 4 launch on August 27."
Epic Games says this cup is the final opportunity for everyone to play with everyone across "all platforms." The cup will begin on Aug. 23 and will include the chance to win the Tart Tycoon Outfit, the real-life #FreeFortnite adjustable hat, and one of 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware. You can check out the outfit and hat below. The message of the outfit and hat is obvious with the outfit featuring a character whose head is literally an apple and the hat featuring a rainbow logo reminiscent of Apple's old logo.
Players can navigate to the in-game Compete tab to see when the cup starts in their region and, when it's live, they can drop into the tournament by selecting the #FreeFortnite Cup playlist. For four hours, players will have the chance to earn the outfit, hat, or even a piece of gaming hardware like a PS4 Pro, Alienware gaming laptop, and more. Players will need to compete as a Solo player in this cup for up to 12 matches to qualify.
There will be three ways to earn points. Players will earn one point for every three minutes spent in a battle royale. Players will also earn one point per elimination and 10 points per Victory Royale. To obtain the Tart Tycoon Outfit, players will need to score 10 points. The #FreeFortnite hat will go to 20,000 of the top-scoring players across all regions.
The 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware will go to the top 1,200 "apple-eaters." It's unclear what being an "apple-eater" means in the context of Fortnite and the blog post does not go into further detail. Even when describing the prizes available to players, Epic Games is highlighting its problems with Apple.
"Additionally, we're giving away 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware (phones, consoles, and PCs). Just because you can't play on iOS doesn't mean there aren't other awesome places to play Fortnite."
It's perhaps the biggest example yet of how Epic is weaponizing its fans against Apple and Google.

Fortnite Teases Marvel’s Thor for Season 4
Epic Games has teased that Thor may be coming to Fortnite as part of Season 4, while rumours swirl that the entire season may be Marvel-themed.
The Fortnite account tweeted out a short clip with the god of thunder overlaid on the game's logo, as well as a release date of August 27th, 2020. A massive Marvel branding sticker appears underneath the art, suggesting that this promotion extends beyond Thor, and may incorporate more superheroes into the game as the season progresses.
— Fortnite (@FortniteGame) August 21, 2020Earlier this week, Fortnite news account HYPEX tweeted that they had heard from a trusted source that Season 4 may be Marvel-themed, suggesting that "Thor & his hammer are gonna be cosmetics." Now that the rumour has been made official, HYPEX has teased a number of details about Season 4, claiming that it will feature a "Marvel/Thor Point of Interest," a Wolverine skin and comic book pages for players to collect, hidden throughout the Fortnite map. Back in July, Square Enix revealed a Marvel's Avengers x Fortnite crossover, which offered a pickaxe cosmetic resembling Hulk's smashing hands to player who finished a set of challenges in the Marvel's Avengers beta. It's not clear yet whether this is wrapped up with the wider Marvel promotion, but we'll be sure to hear more when the Season 4 launch date arrives. Justice League: Snyder Cut Will Omit Superman Line Because It ‘Makes No Sense’
Zack Snyder has confirmed that his cut of Justice League has omitted one specific Superman line from Joss Whedon's 2017 movie because it "literally makes no sense."
Screen Rant picked up on an exchange between Snyder and a fan who posted a question to the director on Vero, quizzing whether Superman asks Batman if he bleeds in his cut of Justice League. In the theatrical release, this line of dialogue is delivered during a confrontation between the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader, in which Superman utters the line "Do you bleed?" while gripping Batman's face.
Despite being a callback to Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder apparently wasn't a fan of the line reappearing in the Justice League script, as he confirmed that it has been cut from his version of the movie because it "literally makes no sense." Twitter user Charlie_ZSJL screenshotted the interaction and posted it on social media for fans to share and discuss. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/21/justice-league-snyder-cut-is-separate-from-the-dceu-ign-news"] Snyder has been sharing teasers of his Justice League ahead of DC FanDome, a two-part event that officially launches online on Saturday, August 22. On Thursday, the filmmaker shared video footage from his HBO Max version of the superhero movie on his Vero account, offering fans a 20-second look at his cut prior to the movie's official panel at the virtual convention this weekend. Snyder's Justice League panel is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm PDT/5:30 pm ET on Saturday. Other highly-anticipated panels include Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Aquaman, Shazam! and The Batman, which will run alongside exclusive world premieres, behind-the-scenes looks at worlds and characters from the DC Universe, plus, fan-curated content, and much, much more. Black Myth: Wukong Developer Responds to Huge Popularity of First Trailer
Before August 20, Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong was a practically unknown project. 24 hours later, it was IGN's biggest news story of the day, had garnered over 10 million views on Chinese video site BiliBili alone, and was earning praise from across the Internet. Game Science founder Feng Ji has now responded to the huge, sudden popularity of the game, said the team will now "hide" to continue development, and apologised for problems that made it into the pre-alpha gameplay.
Writing on Weibo and translated by ResetEra member Nightengale (and confirmed by IGN), the developer explained that the 13 minutes of gameplay used to introduce the game - which you can watch below - were released to be "honest" about the game, as well as help attract more potential employees to join his company.
He adds that the team has been happy with the explosive popularity of the trailer, but makes clear that they won't let it get to their heads, and even asked viewers to "forget" the footage, as it doesn't represent their best work.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/20/black-myth-wukong-official-13-minutes-gameplay-trailer"]
In fact, Feng Ji spends most of his post pointing out what was wrong in the trailer, from the low frame rate in the scene where Wukong takes on a crowd of heavenly warriors, to how the water shown in the game displays no physical properties. He also apologises for the soundtrack not quite matching up with the action.
He closes the post by saying that the team will now "hide again" to continue development, meaning we're unlikely to see much more gameplay in the near future.
While the game's sudden legion of fans will likely be sad to hear that there won't be more to feast their eyes on, it's heartening to hear that the team's been emboldened to continue work on Black Myth - here's hoping it doesn't take too long to reach us.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=black-myth-wukong-11-screenshots&captions=true"]
In the initial announcement of the game, Game Science said Black Myth was aiming for mainstream consoles, PC, and cloud services, but no release date was hinted at, nor whetehr there are plans for a western release. "It shouldn't take 500 years" said an FAQ about a potential release window, but it will only be released when it's ready.
