Shazam 2 Title Revealed: Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer and others were on hand at DC FanDome to tease what's in store for Shazam 2. While they weren't able to reveal much about the sequel, they did reveal the official title.
Shazam 2 will called Shazam! Fury of the Gods. That suggests we'll be learning much more about the six gods who bestowed their powers on young Billy Batson.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/22/black-adam-introduces-the-justice-society-of-america-dc-fandome-official-teaser"]
Amusingly, comedian Sinbad also stopped by the panel to poke fun at the tendency for people to confuse Shazam with 1996's Kazaam. Sinbad seemed to tease an actual role in Fury of the Gods, though we're not entirely sure whether he was joking.
The sequel, which is currently scheduled to open November 4, 2022, will reveal what's happened to Billy Batson, Freddy Freeman, and their "Marvel family" of super-powered siblings since we last saw them in the 2019 film -- as well as what the nefarious Doctor Sivana is scheming.
Fans will recall that Shazam!'s post-credits scene revealed the alien Mister Mind visiting Sivana in prison. What was the result of this meeting? Will we see Shazam and the Marvel family square off against Sivana, Mister Mind and the Monster Society of Evil in the sequel?
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=who-is-the-strongest-hero-in-the-dceu&captions=true"]
While Shazam himself won't be appearing in 2021's Black Adam, that movie will introduce the Justice Society of America. And in other big DC FanDome news, the first trailer for Justice League's Snyder Cut has finally been released.

Aquaman 2 to Be ‘A Little More Serious’
Aquaman 2 had a brief appearance at DC FanDome, with director James Wan and Aquaman 1 star Patrick Wilson reminiscing on the production of the original film and teasing what's to come in the sequel, which is set for a 2022 release.
Though the sequel hasn't started filming, Wan teased a bit about what viewers can expect in Aquaman 2, which we recently learned will have "a little bit more" of Wan's knack for horror.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/12/21/aquaman-end-credits-explained"]
Wan described the sequel as "a little bit more serious, a little more relevant in the world we're living in today." And as for Wilson's hopes, he said he wanted to see "new worlds," citing Wan's creativity in creating new locales for his films to take viewers. Wan suggested Wilson's hopes will be answered in the sequel, which will feature Ocean Master, Wilson's character, in some fashion, though the two declined to give any plot details.
We have recently learned though about some of the comics inspiration Aquaman 2 will pull from, as well as Wilson's past comments on not expecting Ocean Master to be the sequel's main villain.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=aquaman-movie-photos&captions=true"]
The first Aquaman was released in 2018 and starred Momoa, who reprised the role after his debut as Aquaman in Justice League. The movie also starred Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. Abdul-Mateen has confirmed he will reprise his role in the sequel.
Stay tuned to IGN for more from DC FanDome's entire schedule, which has included looks at Gotham Knights, Wonder Woman 1984, and Justice League: The Snyder Cut.

Titans: Season 3 Adds Red Hood, Batgirl and Scarecrow
DC Universe's Titans is returning for a third season, and fans got their first taste of what the future holds for the series at DC FanDome. Titans will undergo a major shift in location for Season 3, as the team heads to Gotham City and encounters several major Batman characters.
Curran Walters will return as Jason Todd in Season 3, though he won't be wearing the Robin costume this time around. Instead, Jason will become Red Hood, suggesting he'll have had his fateful run-in with the Joker at some point between Seasons 2 and 3. Season 2 already flirted with the possibility of killing Jason, even invoking the infamous 1-900 poll that led to Jason's death in the comics, but the character was ultimately spared and returned to his normal duties as Batman's sidekick at the end of the season.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/11/16/titans-jason-todd-actor-on-robins-f-bombs-and-batman-relationship"]
Season 3 will also introduce Barbara Gordon, though the role has yet to be cast. In this universe Barbara has given up the mantle of Batgirl in favor of replacing her father as Commissioner of the GCPD. Needless to say, she's not thrilled about being reunited with Dick Grayson and having the Titans stirring up trouble in the city.
Speaking of trouble, it appears that Scarecrow will be one of the major villains of Season 2. This role is also yet to be cast, but we know Dr. Jonathan Crane will take on a Hannibal Lecter-esque role as an Arkham Asylum inmate who consults on difficult cases for the GCPD. It's probably safe to assume Crane will escape and resume tormenting the city with fear gas before Season 3 ends. And we wouldn't be surprised to see Iain Glen reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in Season 3, either.
Season 3 will also deal heavily with the rivalry between Starfire and her sister Blackfire. Blackfire actress Damaris Lewis has been promoted to series regular status for Season 3.
Unfortunately, we don't know when exactly Season 3 will actually debut. As evidenced by the fact that neither Barbara Gordon nor Scarecrow have been cast, the new season hasn't yet entered production and likely won't return until well into 2021 at least. And based on comments from DC Publisher Jim Lee, by that point the series may find its home on HBO Max rather than DC Universe.
Still, these new character reveals will give fans plenty to stew on while we wait for more news. And if you're not familiar with the original Death in the Family storyline that led to Jason's death, DC will soon be turning it into an interactive, animated movie. Both Red Hood and Batgirl will also play central roles in the newly revealed Batman: Gotham Knights game.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=titans-bruce-wayne-gallery&captions=true"]
Thanks to an overall stronger second season, Titans was among IGN's nominees for the best comic book TV series of 2019.

Black Adam Will Face Off Against Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and Cyclone
DC Fandome revealed the first details about Dwayne Johnson's long-awaited Black Adam movie adaptation, including the members of the Justice Society of America Johnson's eponymous Black Adam will be facing off against.
It was reported earlier this year that the JSA will be appearing in Black Adam after it was announced that Noah Centineo was cast as Atom Smasher. During Fandome, Johnson revealed who else in the JSA will appear in Black Adam.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/22/black-adam-dc-fandome-official-teaser"]
Alongside Atom Smasher, the JSA roster will include Hawkman, Dr. Fate, and Cyclone. Johnson didn't announce who was cast in these roles, so expect more news on that at a later time.
A Johnson led Black Adam movie was announced way back in 2017. Originally slated to appear in Shazam as the villain, Johnson's leading man status means he will now helm his own film.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/black-adam-introduces-the-justice-society-of-america-dc-fandome-official-teaser"]
Despite being a comic book villain, Johnson seems to be positioning his take on Black Adam as a sort of anti-hero. Although it does seem like the JSA will be tasked with fighting him.

The Flash Season 7: The CW Reveals New Teaser Trailer
While The Flash won't be making its usual October premiere window this year, The CW has given fans their first glimpse of the upcoming Season 7.
Showrunner Eric Wallace debuted a new sizzle reel for Season 7 at DC FanDome. How is that possible when the series hasn't resumed filming since the COVID-19 shutdown? Wallace noted that, at the time of the shutdown, filming had almost wrapped on what was intended to be Season 6, Episode 20. The new footage featured in the sizzle reel is taken from that episode, which will now serve as the Season 7 premiere.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/22/the-flash-season-7-official-trailer-dc-fandome"]
The sizzle reels confirms Eva McCulloch (Efrat Dor) will continue to serve as the series' main villain in Season 7, as she embraces her new role as Mirror Master even while Barry grapples with his dwindling speed and Iris slowly loses her mind inside the Mirror Dimension. It's unclear for now whether she'll be the villain throughout Season 7 or if the series will be divided into two halves, a la Season 6. However, Wallace and the cast did note how refreshing Season 6's updated approach was, so we wouldn't be surprised to see a second villain step in later in 2021.
While things are looking pretty bleak in Season 7, Patton promises an eventual Barry/iris reunion. "They will find their way back to each other eventually," said Patton.
Like the majority of the Arrowverse shows, Season 6 of The Flash reached an abrupt conclusion in May, as production was halted due to coronavirus concerns. Fortunately, we thought the impromptu season finale, "Success Is Assured," helped end the year on a strong note regardless. Check out IGN's full The Flash: Season 6 review to see how the show managed to bounce back after a rough couple years.

While Season 7 will address some of the loose ends from Season 6, fans shouldn't expect to see more of Hartley Sawyer's Ralph Dibny. Sawyer was fired from the show after a series of offensive tweets. In his response, showrunner Eric Wallace said on Twitter that Sawyer's past tweets "broke my heart and made me mad as hell."

Watch the First Trailer for The Snyder Cut of Justice League
The first trailer for Zack Snyder's true version of Justice League, dubbed The Snyder Cut, was revealed today at DC FanDome. Zack Snyder's Justice League is scheduled to be released exclusively on HBO Max sometime in 2021.
The Justice League trailer that premiered today showed some key differences from the 2017 theatrical release. Watch the trailer below or read on for our description:
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/08/22/justice-league-the-snyder-cut-trailer"]
Set to the Leonard Cohen song “Hallelujah,” which Snyder also used in a key scene in Watchmen, the trailer opens with a shot of Darkseid himself, making good on Snyder’s promise that the ruler of Apokolips will actually appear in this version. This appears to be a similar shot from the theatrical version, with Darkseid taking the place of Steppenwolf as the massive battle between the New Gods and Earth’s ancient defenders begins.
We then see Superman with a serious chest wound, possibly a battle scar from fighting Steepenwolf, or perhaps someone has fished out Batman’s Kryptonite spear again. A glimpse of the future of the DCEU follows - the same hellish, war-torn desert that was teased in the “Knightmare” dream sequence in Batman v Superman. Even Justice League headquarters have been destroyed! Some footage from the trailers that never made it into the theatrical version also appears, with Vic Stone playing football.
The Man of Steel appears in his black suit through most of the trailer, an element that was cut from the theatrical version. Also cut there but back in this trailer is Kiersey Clemons’ Iris West, being saved by the Flash – and maybe meeting for the first time? We also see Cyborg apparently digging up a grave, Aquaman refusing his ceremonial Atlantean armor, a version of Steppenwolf that’s pretty different from the theatrical version, and a New God character who, based on the hood he’s wearing, could be Desaad, Darkseid’s devious right-hand-man from the comics.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/justice-league-the-snyder-cut-trailer-breakdown"]
It looks like Joe Morton’s Silas Stone – Cyborg’s dad -- will meet a very different fate in the Snyder Cut. Here he appears to be obliterated while experimenting on one of the Mother Boxes. There’s also what is likely footage of the Flash traveling through time to the dystopian future glimpsed earlier, finally picking up the loose end from Batman v Superman where Batman dreamed of the future “Knightmare” timeline ruled by an evil Superman.
We see the full League united, including Superman still wearing his black suit, as Batman’s Flying Fox approaches. And finally, the trailer closes with Flash mentioning “hundreds of thousands of other superbeings on other planets” that have presumably been destroyed by Darkseid. Batman is undaunted, of course: “He’s never fought us. Not us united.” We admire his optimism, but there’s probably a reason Snyder planned on filming two Justice League movies.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/the-true-story-behind-the-snyder-cut"]
Zack Snyder, who directed 2013's Man of Steel and 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, also directed the 2017 crossover film Justice League, which brought together Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg.
However, Snyder had to step down from the production in 2017 and Joss Whedon took over post-production, which included reshoots. This was the version of Justice League that was released in theaters.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=justice-league-snyder-cut-trailer-screenshots&captions=true"]
Almost immediately after the release fans began an online movement to get a version of Justice League that's closer to Snyder's original vision and in 2020 Snyder announced that his version will be released on HBO Max.
Snyder describes his upcoming version of the Justice League as a new version of the film and it's expected to cost around $30 million to complete the new edit. However, there will be no reshoots with the original cast.
Check out our DC FanDome Schedule to see what else DC has planned for its fully online digital convention with exclusive reveals for upcoming movies like Wonder Woman 1984 as well as games like Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League and WB Montreal's Arkham game.
