New to HBO Max in July 2022: The Bob’s Burgers Movie, Last Night in Soho, and More

HBO Max subscribers have some big movies to look forward to in July, and one of the biggest additions is The Bob's Burgers Movie on July 12. Originally released in theaters on May 27, this big-screen take on the Fox animated comedy sees our main characters dealing with a big sinkhole that appears in front of the restaurant.

For those who have yet to see Last Night in Soho or want to watch it again, the film starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Thomasin McKenzie, and Matt Smith will make its way to HBO Max on July 1. Speaking of older films, both 1998 and 2014's Godzilla will also join HBO Max in July alongside Mad Max: Fury Road.

On the TV front, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin will tell a new story of a "disparate group of teen girls" that must pay for the "secret sin their parents committed two decades ago... as well as their own." Issa Rae is also set to debut her new comedy Rap Sh!t, a series that follows "two estranged best friends in Miami, Florida, as they decide to start a rap group."

For the kids and kids at heart out there, Bugs Bunny Builders will arrive on July 26 and will become the "first-ever educational Looney Toons show and first Looney Tunes preschool show in over 20 years." In this show, Bugs and Lola are managers of the Looney Builders construction crew and their mission is to help their fellow citizens of Looneyburg with all their building needs.

Spider-Man: New Monthly Series Chronicles the Final Chapter in the Spider-Verse Saga

Marvel Comics has been teasing the third and final chapter in the Spider-Verse trilogy, and now we know exactly what that series is. Marvel will launch a new monthly series in October simply titled Spider-Man, and it features two of the most prolific Spider-Man creators in the company's long history.

Spider-Man features the return of Dan Slott, who wrote several hundred issues of The Amazing Spider-Man between 2008 and 2018 and penned the original Spider-Verse crossover in 2014. Joining Slott is artist Mark Bagley, whose past work includes multiple volumes of The Amazing Spider-Man and an impressive 111 consecutive issues of Ultimate Spider-Man.

The new series will open with a storyline called "The End of the Spider-Verse," which builds on the upcoming Edge of Spider-Verse miniseries and the introduction of several new, multiversal Spider-Men like Spider-Laird and Night Spider. "The End of the Spider-Verse" features the return of Morlun, the villain infamous for killing Peter Parker in 2005's Spider-Man: The Other, and a member of the vampiric family that fueled the events of both 2014's Spider-Verse and 2018's Spider-Geddon. This time around, Morlun has assembled a team of powerful allies to destroy Peter Parker and his fellow Spiders once and for all.

Spider-Man will also intertwine with the events of Zeb Wells and John Romita, Jr's Amazing Spider-Man series, taking advantage of Peter Parker's controversial new status quo as a disgraced hero working with a supposedly reformed Norman Osborn.

“How does it feel to be writing Spider-Man again? Like I'm home. Like there's nowhere else I'd rather be," said Slott in Marvel's press release. "How does it feel to be working on it with Mark Bagley, one of the greatest Spidey icons of all time?! Honored, excited, and unstoppable! Mark and I are two guys who live to tell Spider-Man stories. Cut us and we bleed Spider-Man. And now Marvel has entrusted the two of us to bring back their monthly-- adjectiveless-- SPIDER-MAN title!"

Slott added, “We are not going to let you down. We're going to take BIG swings in each and every issue! And the first thing we're doing, right out of the gate, is the Spider-Verse comic to END all Spider-Verse comics!"

It's not surprising to see Marvel launch another high-profile, monthly Spider-Man comic in 2022, given that this is the character's 60th anniversary. Even the title choice seems intentional, as 1990's Spider-Man #1 remains one of the highest-selling single issues of all time.

Spider-Man #1 will hit stores on October 5, 2022.

The new series not only takes advantage of Spidey's 60th anniversary, it also debuts in the lead-up to 2023's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Find out more about Issa Rae's Spider-Woman character and learn how the movie's new villain was inspired by the Portal games.

Sucker Punch: ‘No Plans’ to Revisit InFamous or Sly Cooper Series Right Now

Since Sucker Punch’s formation nearly 25 years ago, the studio has developed multiple beloved series like InFamous and Sly Cooper. Now, as the studio shifts its focus toward a new IP, these franchises won't be receiving new entries in the near future.

In a statement published on the studio’s website, Sucker Punch thanked fans for their support and laid out some of its plans for the future. According to the statement, the team is working on a new project that requires the full studio's attention, so there are currently no Sly Cooper or InFamous projects in the works at Sucker Punch or at any other studios.

However, Sucker Punch clarified that it isn’t done with these beloved franchises forever and that it would “never say never to re-opening those doors down the road.”

Alongside this announcement, Sucker Punch revealed a few minor updates to InFamous games that will roll out soon. According to the statement, the studio will relocate the InFamous 2 UGC servers to prolong their lifespan, though they “will eventually need to sunset these.”

Additionally, the studio will add the Cole’s Legacy DLC for InFamous Second Son to the PlayStation Store.

“Thank you to everyone for an incredible 24+ years of support,” the statement finishes. “Your love and appreciation are what fuel us to keep making new games and new worlds, and we look forward to continuing to bring new and exciting ideas to life for many years to come. We’re not ready to talk about whatever might be next, but we hope you’ll keep following us whenever we’re ready to share more.”

Sucker Punch's newest title is Ghost of Tsushima, an open-world game set in medieval Japan during the Mongol invasion. Ghost of Tsushima was received with an incredibly positive reception, and the studio looks to continue the franchise in some capacity. A recent job listings on its website hinted the studio's next game will be another open-world action stealth game.

Destiny 2: Where Is Xur Today? Location and Exotic Items for July 1-5

The animate sloppy joe, Xûr, is now live in Destiny 2 for the weekend until next week's reset. If you're looking to get your some shiny new Exotic armor or weapons for your Guardian, look no further.

Each week, Xûr has a random assortment of Exotic armor, one for each Guardian class, as well as a random Exotic Weapon and an Exotic Engram available for purchase. In addition to his Exotic wares, he's got a random collection of Legendary weapons and armor to deck out your Guardians.

We've rounded up all the info on Xûr for the week including where to find Xûr, which Exotic weapons and armor are available, as well as which Legendary weapons you should pick up, either for PvE or PvP.

Where Is Xûr This Weekend?

Xûr's location today can be found at Watcher's Grave on Nessus on July 1 through July 5. To reach him, travel to the landing point at Watcher's Grave. When you arrive, make for the red moss-covered tree straight ahead. Climb up the roots and you'll find Xûr waiting at the top to sell you exotic items and legendary weapons.

What Is Xûr Selling This Weekend?

Exotic Engram

Lord of Wolves - Exotic Shotgun

Celestial Nighthawk - Exotic Hunter Helmet

  • 3 Mobility
  • 27 Resilience
  • 2 Recovery
  • 16 Discipline
  • 16 Intellect
  • 2 Strength
  • Total: 66

An Insurmountable Skullfort - Exotic Titan Helmet

  • 8 Mobility
  • 17 Resilience
  • 9 Recovery
  • 2 Discipline
  • 2 Intellect
  • 28 Strength
  • Total: 66

Crown of Tempests- Exotic Warlock Helmet

  • 7 Mobility
  • 9 Resilience
  • 13 Recovery
  • 16 Discipline
  • 13 Intellect
  • 2 Strength
  • Total: 60

It's helmet day, Guardians! If you're a Titan or a Hunter you've got some great, high-stat headpieces to adorn the hideously ugly character you thought would be funny to create 7 years ago and have regretted ever since. If you are a Hunter, this roll of Celestial Nighthawk is incredible and that exotic in general has almost always played a major roll in the game's meta -- buy it immediately. Titans should also consider grabbing the Insurmountable Skullfort, although the roll isn't as good and that exotic in general isn't my favorite.

Exotic Weapons

Hawkmoon - Exotic Hand Cannon

  • Paracausal Shot
  • Polygonal Rifling
  • Alloy Magazine
  • Opening Shot
  • Polymer Grip

Dead Man's Tale - Exotic Scout Rifle

  • Cranial Spike
  • Small Bore
  • High-Caliber Rounds
  • Snapshot Sights
  • Hand-Laid Stock

The roll for Hawkmoon is pretty great this week if you're like me and love Opening Shot as a perk for this weapon! Dead Man's Tale...not so much -- skip it!

Legendary Weapons

Seventh Seraph CQC-12 - Shotgun

  • Smallbore/Corkscrew Rifling
  • Assault Mag/Steady Rounds
  • Quickdraw
  • Shield Disorient
  • Reload Speed Masterwork

Enigma's Draw - Sidearm

  • Shortspec SAS/Tactic SAS
  • Extended Mag/Ricochet Rounds
  • Zen Moment
  • Demolitionist
  • Handling Masterwork

Cold Denial - Pulse Rifle

  • Extended Barrel/Full Bore
  • Armor-Piercing Rounds/Ricochet Rounds
  • Killing Wind
  • Multikill Clip
  • Accuracy Masterwork

Falling Guillotine - Sword

  • Hungry Edge/Enduring Blade/Tempered Edge
  • Balanced Guard/Enduring Guard
  • Relentless Strikes
  • Whirlwind Blade
  • Impact Masterwork

Deafening Whisper - Grenade Launcher

  • Confined Launch/Countermass
  • High-Velocity Rounds/Implosion Rounds
  • Auto-Loading Holster
  • Ambitious Assassin
  • Blast Radius Masterwork

The Third Axiom - Pulse Rifle

  • Corkscrew Rifling/Smallbore
  • Ricochet Rounds/Light Mag
  • Slideshot
  • Sympathetic Arsenal
  • Handling Masterwork

Farewell - Sidearm

  • Arrowhead Brake/Corkscrew Rifling
  • Tactical Mag/Steady Rounds
  • Heating Up
  • Thresh
  • Handling Masterwork

My picks this week include the damage-centric roll on Falling Guillotine, a fantastic weapon that every Guardian should have in their back pocket, and Cold Denial, which has a pretty decent roll for a PvE pulse rifle. Deafening Whisper comes close, with some great grenade launcher perks, but without blinding grenades it falls short of my reccomendation.

Warlock Legendary Armor

For Warlocks, Xûr is selling the Bratech set which includes:

Braytech Gloves

  • 25 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 2 Recovery
  • 12 Discipline
  • 10 Intellect
  • 9 Strength
  • Total: 60

Braytech Chest Armor

  • 8 Mobility
  • 8 Resilience
  • 16 Recovery
  • 2 Discipline
  • 9 Intellect
  • 21 Strength
  • Total: 64

Braytech Helmet

  • 18 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 12 Recovery
  • 10 Discipline
  • 16 Intellect
  • 6 Strength
  • Total: 64

Braytech Leg Armor

  • 2 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 28 Recovery
  • 2 Discipline
  • 16 Intellect
  • 16 Strength
  • Total: 66

Braytech Researcher's Bond

A few good pieces of armor for Warlocks this week, but none more than those glorious boots, which have sky-high recovery and huge stat totals. Buy that immediately! The helmet and chest piece are also quite good rolls, though less universally so. If they fit a build you like then pick 'em up!

Titan Legendary Armor

For Titans, Xûr is selling the Braytech set which includes:

Braytech Gauntlets

  • 20 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 7 Recovery
  • 22 Discipline
  • 2 Intellect
  • 6 Strength
  • Total: 59

Braytech Chest Armor

  • 2 Mobility
  • 23 Resilience
  • 6 Recovery
  • 8 Discipline
  • 9 Intellect
  • 12 Strength
  • Total: 60

Braytech Helmet

  • 2 Mobility
  • 9 Resilience
  • 16 Recovery
  • 7 Discipline
  • 9 Intellect
  • 14 Strength
  • Total: 57

Braytech Leg Armor

  • 2 Mobility
  • 22 Resilience
  • 6 Recovery
  • 2 Discipline
  • 14 Intellect
  • 15 Strength
  • Total: 61

Braytech Mark

My fellow Titans...we have been bamboozled! This week's legendary armor is not good. Don't buy it.

Hunter Legendary Armor

For Hunters, Xûr is selling the Braytech set which includes:

Braytech Grips

  • 2 Mobility
  • 13 Resilience
  • 14 Recovery
  • 2 Discipline

  • 22 Resilience
  • 2 Recovery
  • 10 Discipline
  • 7 Intellect
  • 13 Strength
  • Total: 64

Braytech Helmet

  • 13 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 14 Recovery
  • 12 Discipline
  • 17 Intellect
  • 2 Strength
  • Total: 60

Braytech Leg Armor

  • 24 Mobility
  • 2 Resilience
  • 2 Recovery
  • 17 Discipline
  • 6 Intellect
  • 10 Strength
  • Total: 61

Braytech Cloak

Hunters only got one good roll this week in their chest armor with high stats and some decent point allocations. Aside from that though, it's a fairly underwhelming week for our caped crusaders, at least so far as legendary armor is concerned. Buy that exotic helmet from earlier, though!

That's a wrap on Xûr for this week, Guardians! Hope you're all enjoying your adventures in the Season of the Haunted.

Exotic Weapons

Hawkmoon - Exotic Hand Cannon

  • Paracausal Shot
  • Polygonal Rifling
  • Alloy Magazine
  • Opening Shot
  • Polymer Grip

Dead Man's Tale - Exotic Scout Rifle

  • Cranial Spike
  • Small Bore
  • High-Caliber Rounds
  • Snapshot Sights
  • Hand-Laid Stock

The roll for Hawkmoon is pretty great this week if you're like me and love Opening Shot as a perk for this weapon! Dead Man's Tale...not so much -- skip it!

Legendary Weapons

Seventh Seraph CQC-12 - Shotgun

  • Smallbore/Corkscrew Rifling
  • Assault Mag/Steady Rounds
  • Quickdraw
  • Shield Disorient
  • Reload Speed Masterwork

Enigma's Draw - Sidearm

  • Shortspec SAS/Tactic SAS
  • Extended Mag/Ricochet Rounds
  • Zen Moment
  • Demolitionist
  • Handling Masterwork

Cold Denial - Pulse Rifle

  • Extended Barrel/Full Bore
  • Armor-Piercing Rounds/Ricochet Rounds
  • Killing Wind
  • Multikill Clip
  • Accuracy Masterwork

Falling Guillotine - Sword

  • Hungry Edge/Enduring Blade/Tempered Edge
  • Balanced Guard/Enduring Guard
  • Relentless Strikes
  • Whirlwind Blade
  • Impact Masterwork

Deafening Whisper - Grenade Launcher

  • Confined Launch/Countermass
  • High-Velocity Rounds/Implosion Rounds
  • Auto-Loading Holster
  • Ambitious Assassin
  • Blast Radius Masterwork

The Third Axiom - Pulse Rifle

  • Corkscrew Rifling/Smallbore
  • Ricochet Rounds/Light Mag
  • Slideshot
  • Sympathetic Arsenal
  • Handling Masterwork

Farewell - Sidearm

  • Arrowhead Brake/Corkscrew Rifling
  • Tactical Mag/Steady Rounds
  • Heating Up
  • Thresh
  • Handling Masterwork

My picks this week include the damage-centric roll on Falling Guillotine, a fantastic weapon that every Guardian should have in their back pocket, and Cold Denial, which has a pretty decent roll for a PvE pulse rifle. Deafening Whisper comes close, with some great grenade launcher perks, but without blinding grenades it falls short of my reccomendation.
