A Quiet Place: Part II Social Media Reactions Heap Praise on the Scary Sequel
IndieWire's Deputy Editor of Film, Kagte Erbland, insists that crunchy snacks be banned, so that the silent chills can fully resonate.
Erik Davis, Managing Editor at Fandango, remarks that some sequences in the film are a "masterclass in suspense."A QUIET PLACE PART II: A worthy, world-expanding followup that builds on the original and finds its own thrills, chills, and emotions in the process. Audiences should still be banned from eating crunchy snacks during any and all screenings.

Comicbook.com's Chris Killian claims the sequel is "riveting from top to bottom."Damn, #AQuietPlace Part II rocks! Honestly, just as tense and terrifying as the first one. There are some sequences in this film that are a masterclass in suspense. Bravo, @johnkrasinski. So good, so emotional, too. pic.twitter.com/3uSBwvCw0R

The use of sound in #AQuietPlace Part 2 is still so vital. In what could easily have been a retread, @johnkrasinski finds unbelievably creative ways to keep the movie’s niche from getting stale. The entire cast is fantastic and it’s riveting from top to bottom. @quietplacemovie pic.twitter.com/gZHRyJOKXU — Chris Killian (@chriskillian) March 6, 2020Steven Weintraub, Editor-in-Chief for Collider, is here making an early plea for a Part III!
#AQuietPlacePartII is a great sequel that expands the world. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Movie is an hour and 45 minutes and when it ended wanted more. Is it too early to talk about #AQuietPlace3? pic.twitter.com/nj9tOTyygV — Steven Weintraub (@colliderfrosty) March 6, 2020Uproxx's Senior Entertainment Writer, Mike Ryan, lauds the addition of Cillian Murphy while Daily Dead's Heather Wixson and horror critic Meagan Navarro both celebrate Millicent Simmonds' great performance.
A QUIET PLACE PART II is “Tension: The Movie.” I have a stomach ache now from how tense this movie is. (Also, this turned out to be a surprisingly great Cillian Murphy movie.)
— Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) March 6, 2020
So #AQuietPlacePartII was incredibly tense & builds upon the story from the first film in some unexpected/inspired ways. Cillian Murphy RULES & Millicent Simmonds really comes into her own her with a truly phenomenal performance.
— Heather Wixson (@thehorrorchick) March 6, 2020
Rotten Tomatoes' EIC, Joel Meares, goes so far as to call Millicent Simmonds his "new Ripley."A QUIET PLACE PART II is not at all what I expected, and that's a great thing. A very creative sequel that goes to some unexpected and satisfying places. Bravo Millicent Simmonds. #AQuietPlacePartII #AQuietPlace

CinemaBlend's Managing Director, Sean O'Connell, asserts that Krasinski has "Spielberg-level chops."Kudos to John Krasinski and co: #AQuietPlace Part II delivers. Millicent Simmonds is my new Ripley — owns the film. (And yes, some great scares.)

As you can see, on the bottom right of the image, WWE's Sasha Banks liked the post. There are currently strong rumors that Banks has filmed scenes for Season 2, though her series role is unknown at this point.
It was also recently reported that Robert Rodriguez will direct parts of Season 2, alongside Bryce Dallas Howard, who is returning to the series after directing an episode in Season 1.

To avoid having your settings wiped, Epic has added a "Copy from Legacy" option which will allow players to save their current sensitivities once Legacy Controls are turned off for good. To do this, simply head into the in-game setting menu and navigate to the "Controller Options" tab. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/02/20/fortnite-chapter-2-season-2-top-secret-launch-trailer"] Last year, a "hack" was discovered that allowed controller players to use the Legacy Controls to track players through walls, smoke, and tall grass. Since then, the PC community has been constantly asking Epic to nerf the aim assist controls and level the playing field. With the successful launch of Chapter 2: Season 2, it seems Epic is finally ready to listen. SXSW Canceled Due to Coronavirus Concerns
The City of Austin has cancelled the March dates for SXSW and SXSW EDU. SXSW will faithfully follow the City’s directions. We are devastated to share this news with you. “The show must go on” is in our DNA, and this is the first time in 34 years that the March event will not take place. We are now working through the ramifications of this unprecedented situation. As recently as Wednesday, Austin Public Health stated that “there’s no evidence that closing SXSW or any other gatherings will make the community safer.” However, this situation evolved rapidly, and we honor and respect the City of Austin’s decision. We are committed to do our part to help protect our staff, attendees, and fellow Austinites. We are exploring options to reschedule the event and are working to provide a virtual SXSW online experience as soon as possible for 2020 participants, starting with SXSW EDU. For our registrants, clients, and participants we will be in touch as soon as possible and will publish an FAQ. We understand the gravity of the situation for all the creatives who utilize SXSW to accelerate their careers; for the global businesses; and for Austin and the hundreds of small businesses – venues, theatres, vendors, production companies, service industry staff, and other partners that rely so heavily on the increased business that SXSW attracts. We will continue to work hard to bring you the unique events you love. Though it’s true that our March 2020 event will no longer take place in the way that we intended, we continue to strive toward our purpose – helping creative people achieve their goals.[poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt Kim is a reporter for IGN.
