The Mandalorian Reveals Another Huge Connection to Star Wars Lore

The Mandalorian Season 2, Episode 5 has further tied the live-action show into previous Star Wars projects, with a single line potentially teasing the appearance of three major characters from the past. Major spoilers for The Mandalorian "Chapter 13" follow. I have spoken. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-actor-and-character-in-the-mandalorian&captions=true"] Aside from introducing the legendary Ahsoka Tano into The Mandalorian's live-action universe for the first time, we also got a hint that her mission will bring us an appearance from Star Wars Rebels villain Grand Admiral Thrawn. Rosario Dawson's simple line, "Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?" has been a question that's thrown the internet into a frenzy already. Ezra Bridger was last seen with Thrawn at the end of Star Wars Rebels as the two disappeared into hyperspace on a damaged Star Destroyer courtesy of a group of whale-like purrgil, implying that we may also see an appearance from the young Jedi hero. Unless Ahsoka already found Ezra, the fact that she’s hunting Thrawn almost certainly confirms that she’s still hunting for Ezra too. It's been seen as enough of a possibility that "Ezra" was trending on Twitter shortly after the episode was released. iZombie and Haunting of Bly Manor actor Rahul Kohli has been seen teasing the idea that he could play Ezra on Twitter – whether or not that is the case in reality, his Twitter notifications are going to be on fire today. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/03/24/ahsoka-tano-returns-the-ex-jedis-path-to-the-mandalorian"] It's also more than likely that Sabine Wren, another Mandalorian and Ezra's best friend, could also be joining The Mandalorian soon, given that she and Ahsoka set off in search of Ezra together at the end of Star Wars Rebels. We didn't just get reveals about characters from other Star Wars shows this week - Chapter 13 also revealed that Baby Yoda's name is Grogu, and gave us a hint at his backstory. And while Ahsoka refused to train Grogu in the ways of the Force given his ties to Mando, there’s a good chance that Mando and Grogu are now Ezra-bait. They’re headed to an ancient Jedi temple on Tython to hopefully send Grogu’s Force presence out into the galaxy like a beacon. According to Ahsoka, if there’s another surviving Jedi out there, they may come and seek Grogu if they feel his call.

[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2016/12/06/star-wars-rebels-ezra-and-maul-search-through-the-past"]

Sure, Luke Skywalker is always a possibility, but there’s good chance he might be too busy mopping up the last of the Empire's mess, seeking out old Jedi texts, and establishing his new Jedi Order of apprentices. Cal Kestis and Cere from Jedi Fallen Order are definitely contenders, but the inclusion of Ahsoka and Thrawn in this episode offers a fairly compelling hint that Ezra could be that Jedi. And, given his own unorthodox training from Kanan Jarrus (and brushes with the dark side courtesy of Maul) when he was already a teenager, Ezra might be a bit more willing to take a chance on an apprentice with attachment issues.

Pokémon’s 25th Anniversary Celebration Teased at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Pokemon's 25th anniversary celebration was teased at the 2020 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with a new logo and a promise of an exciting 2021 for Pokemon fans around the world. The new logo, which you can see below, features Pikachu's iconic face with the number 25 on its cheeks. Pokemon's Twitter also said "Our Pokémon 25th Anniversary celebration kicks off in 2021! Stay tuned for more details." Pokemon 25 This logo is very similar to the logo for Pokemon's 20th anniversary, but without other Pokemon making up Pikachu's face. Oh, and we also had to share with you the dancing Pikachu that appeared in the parade alongside the Pikachu balloon that took flight for the 20th consecutive parade. There is a good chance we won't have to wait too long to hear what The Pokemon Company has planned for 2021, as Pokemon Red and Green were released in Japan on February 27, 1996, and it has previously celebrated milestones based on the Japanese release. In 2016, The Pokemon Company celebrated Pokemon's 20th anniversary with the announcement of Pokemon Sun and Moon (On February 26, no less), Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on 3DS' Virtual Console, a special 3DS bundle featuring cover plates of Charizard and Blastoise, a Super Bowl commercial, and much more. With Pokemon Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra DLC released, it may be time to hear about the next big Switch Pokemon title, whether it be a new generation or something similar to Pokemon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/17/new-pokemon-snap-official-switch-trailer"] We are also waiting to hear more of New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite, the Co-op strategy game that closely resembles a MOBA like League of Legends or DOTA 2. How do you hope The Pokemon Company will celebrate Pokemon's 25th anniversary? Let us know in the comments below! [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is Streaming Among Us Again This Week

U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be streaming Among Us on Twitch.TV/AOC again at 4pm PT/7pm ET tomorrow, November 27, and this time it will be with Canadian Members of Parliament. Ocasio-Cortez shared the news on Twitter, Quote Tweeting Jagmeet Singh, the leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, saying "Canadian Members of Parliament & US Members of Congress venting each other into space. What could go wrong?" [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/10/21/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-streams-among-us-to-get-out-the-vote-ign-now"] Singh tagged AOC in his Among Us stream announcement alongside both @hasanthehun and @northernlionLP, but it is yet unclear as to who else will be joining in on the fun. This will be AOC's follow-up to her first Twitch stream that peaked at over 430,000 viewers ahead of the U.S. Presidential Election earlier this month. AOC's Twitch stream was part of her plan to help get others to get out and vote, and we took a look at how this has even greater implications for U.S. politics as a whole. Cyberpunk 2077’s DLC Reveal Delayed Until After Its Launch

CD Projekt Red has pushed back the reveal of Cyberpunk 2077's DLC until after its December 10 release date due to the game's several delays. As reported by VGC, the news was revealed by CD Projekt Red president and joint-CEO Adam Kiciński during the company's Q3 2020 earning call after he was asked about announcing and selling a season pass for the much-anticipated game. “The initial plan was to do it before release, but after the recent delay, we decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects. So, after release.” Kiciński said, as transcribed by Seeking Alpha. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/25/cyberpunk-2077-the-story-so-far"] CD Projekt Red had previously announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will get DLC at least as large as The Witcher 3, and will have both free DLC alongside paid expansions. It stated it would reveal these plans before launch but, as previously mentioned, the multiple delays shifted the timing. Kiciński also spoke about Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer - which is a standalone project that won't likely be playable until after 2021 - and how the team plans to share a bit more about it "in Q1 next year." “It’s a separate dedicated production, a big production,” Kiciński said. “And we plan — we think about it as a standalone product. Obviously, it’s not entirely standalone as it comes from the universe of Cyberpunk and is very much related to the concept of single-player Cyberpunk. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=100-new-cyberpunk-2077-screenshots-gangs-characters-and-playstyles-revealed&captions=true"] “It’s another independent production and [an] independent team of people works on it…. I said already we are not focusing right now on talking too much about other future products, products that are to be released after Cyberpunk. So please be with us in the first quarter of next year when we plan to share some strategy update. And I believe Cyberpunk multiplayer will be possible.” For more on Cyberpunk 2077, check out our final preview, the story so far, and all the news from the latest Night City Wire. Microsoft Working on Why PS5 Outperforms Xbox Series X on Certain Games

While Microsoft has been touting that the Xbox Series X is the "world's most powerful console," the PS5 is outperforming it in early game tests, and Microsoft is working on why. As reported by The Verge, Digital Foundry has been analyzing some of the new games across both the PS5 - which is capable of 10.28 teraflops of GPU performance - and Xbox Series X - which is capable of 12 teraflops - and it's not as one-sided as it initially appeared. In Devil May Cry 5, the Xbox Series X has better performance in 4K and ray tracing modes, but the higher frame rate option runs better on PS5, with the frame rate gaps being more than 40fps in some cases. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/05/xbox-series-x-review"] “The dips look really strange to me, and it kind of suggests to me some kind of API limitation on the Xbox side where the GPU is being held back by something,” suggests Digital Foundry editor Richard Leadbetter. Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which has been heavily promoted by Microsoft, also runs a bit smoother on PS5, with the Xbox Series X version showing screen tearing and regular frame rate dips below 60fps. The same story plays out in Dirt 5, where image quality and resolution go in PS5's favor. Dirt's developer Codemasters has acknowledged this peformance gap, and has already said it has a fix in the works. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-best-games-to-play-on-xbox-series-xs&captions=true"] Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War does run better in ray tracing performance mode on Xbox Series X, but PS5 performs better in 120fps mode. Why is this occurring in multiple games? Certain developers have spoken to The Verge and have said that some of the issues stem from the fact that Microsoft only allowed developers to submit games for Xbox Series X certification in June, whereas developers had access to PS5 dev kits far in advance. So, it appears that this issue is not necessarily a platform issue, but an issue with developers not having ample time to optimize their titles for the Xbox Series X. Microsoft has acknowledged this issue, and promises it is working with developers to solve any complications. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/11/17/fixing-ps5-xbox-series-x-launch-issues-next-gen-console-watch"] “We are aware of performance issues in a handful of optimized titles on Xbox Series X|S and are actively working with our partners to identify and resolve the issues to ensure an optimal experience,” says a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement to The Verge. “As we begin a new console generation, our partners are just now scratching the surface of what next-gen consoles can do and minor bug fixes are expected as they learn how to take full advantage of our new platform. We are eager to continue working with developers to further explore the capability of Xbox Series X|S in the future.” The Xbox Series X does have certain advantages over the PS5, on paper, like variable refresh rate and full AMD RDNA2 support, but many developers still need time to take advantage of all the power the Xbox Series X offers.
