Gamescom Announces 2020 Event Will Be Exclusively Digital
Update: Gamescom announces 2020 event will be fully digital.
PSA: PS4 Exclusives Listed for PC on Amazon Are an Error
Earlier today, listing for several games including PlayStation 4 exclusives were listed for PC on a French Amazon page. Sony has confirmed to IGN that the listing isn’t accurate.
A series of listings on Amazon France seemingly suggested exclusive PlayStation 4 games like Days Gone and Bloodborne was coming to the PC. However, Sony responded to a request from IGN that “The listings are not accurate. We have made no announcements to bring these games to PC.”
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=2020-platform-exclusives&captions=true"]
The listings garnered interest because recently Sony has made overtures to the PC market by bringing the PS4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn to PC. But Sony also clarified that this would be a case-by-case situation and not an announcement that all PS4 games will eventually come to PC.
Other titles that aren’t from Sony but are console-exclusives like Persona 5 were also listed for PC on Amazon France, but a Sega representative has told IGN that the listing was also an error.

When Horizon Zero Dawn was announced for PC, PlayStation Worldwide Studios boss and former managing director of Guerrilla Games Hermen Hulst said, “And to maybe put a few minds at ease, releasing one first-party AAA title to PC doesn’t necessarily mean that every game now will come to PC. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance.”
Hulst added, ‘We don’t have plans for day and date [PC releases], and we remain 100% committed to dedicated hardware.”

A Week After Launch, Quibi Promises to Ditch Mobile-Only Format
Well, that didn't take long. Just a week after launching, the new streaming service Quibi -- which offers "quick bite" short-form content designed to be watched on cell phones and tablets -- is abandoning its mobile-only format and will (eventually) make its content available on regular TVs.
Quibi's about-face comes after their consumers complained about the mobile-only approach. According to Bloomberg, though, Quibi may not be able to make its content available for television viewing for up to six months.
“It’s quite an engineering lift -- it’s not easy -- but the engineers are trying to think about how to do this on an accelerated time scale,” Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman told Bloomberg TV.
[ignvideo width=610 height=374 url=https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/04/08/quibi-review-2020]
Quibi was designed for viewers on the go, allowing users to watch "movies in chapters" on their phones while commuting or during breaks. But with people worldwide now self-isolating due to the coronavirus pandemic, hardly anyone is on the go at the moment and are instead watching shows and movies at home on their TVs.
Whitman said Quibi needs about 12 million subscribers to break even; it so far has garnered 1.7 million subscribers in its first week. In comparison, Disney+ raked in 10 million subscribers when it launched last year.
Whitman claims Quibi may have eventually created a TV option anyway and that the COVID-19 quarantines have spurred the company's engineers on in developing one.
Quibi certainly doesn't lack for talent behind or in front of the camera, with the likes of Steven Spielberg, Sam Raimi, Jennifer Lopez, Chrissy Teigen, Chance the Rapper, Sophie Turner, Christoph Waltz, Will Forte, and Reese Witherspoon involved.

But even with such stellar talent generating content, our reviewers didn't find all of Quibi's scripted and unscripted shows worth those few minutes of your time. Be sure to check out our rundown of the shows available on Quibi, as well as our review of the platform itself.
Have you tried Quibi? Would you rather watch their shows on your mobile devices or on a TV? Let us know in the comments.

F1 2020 Announced by Codemasters
Racing studio Codemasters has announced F1 2020, this year’s entry in the annual Formula 1 motor racing series.
F1 2020 adds a new mode for the series, known as My Team. The mode allows players to create a new F1 team, rather than using established real-world teams, and compete against 2020’s line-up. A driver-manager experience in the mode promises a unique insight into the world of F1’s team system.
[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=f1-2020-car-reveals&captions=true"]
Career mode will make a return should players wish to stick to a more classic mode of play, but this time there is more flexibility thanks to the ability to choose from three different season lengths: a full 22-race season, or shorter 16 and 10 race options. Among those races are two new circuits: Hanoi and Zandvoort.
Two-player split screen play returns to the series with F1 2020, alongside traditional multiplayer options. There are also new accessibility settings to tweak the difficulty and challenge of the game, which are additional to the ‘core’ F1 and F2 modes, which remain as ‘intense’ simulations.
[ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/04/15/f1-2020-announce-trailer"]
F1 2020 is set to launch on July 10 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia. Alongside the standard version there are two special editions: the F1 Seventy Edition, which celebrates seventy years of Formula One with a set of in-game items, and the Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, which exclusively features four of the legendary driver’s famous cars: the Jordan 191, Benetton B194, Benetton B195, and Ferrari F1-2000.
The real F1 racing season has been postponed due to COVID-19, and so virtual races have been taking place instead, performed in F1 2019. To see how the previous year's entry shaped up, check out our F1 2019 review.

Justin Roiland’s Solar Opposites Might Be Even More Deranged Than Rick and Morty
Justin Roiland fans can look forward to a particularly schwifty May - not only is Rick and Morty returning with the final five episodes of Season 4 beginning May 3, Hulu is releasing Season 1 of Roiland's new animated sci-fi comedy Solar Opposites just days later on May 8. The new adult animated comedy is co-created by Roiland and Rick and Morty executive producer Mike McMahan, who's also developing the animated CBS All Access series Star Trek: Lower Decks.
Following the first teaser trailer which dropped in March, IGN can exclusively reveal the full trailer for Solar Opposites, which stars the vocal talents of Roiland as Korvo and Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack, who "only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty" of Earth when their alien team crash-lands on our planet. Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack), on the other hand, "love humans and all their TV, junk food and fun stuff." The team's mission: "protect the Pupa, a living supercomputer that will one day evolve into its true form, consume them and terraform the Earth."
Watch the full, official trailer for Solar Opposites below or in the video player above:
