Deathloop Gameplay Shown on PS5

Arkane Lyon's Deathloop has gotten its first gameplay, shown on PS5. The gameplay revealed at the PS5 event showed a great deal of stylish violence, as the player-character is hunted across the island they're stuck on. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/11/deathloop-gameplay-trailer-ps5-reveal-event"] The PS Blog has revealed that it will be exclusively on consoles for PS5, with a PC release at the same time. It will release this holiday season, so expect it around the launch of the PS5 console itself. The story centres on rival assassins, Colt and Julianna. Colt is hunting eight targets, but is stuck in a perpetual timeloop that restarts each time he dies. Julianna is attempting to hunt him down and prevent him from breaking the timeloop. The catch: both assassins are played by players. Yes, it's multiplayer. As Colt, you can play through missions as you would in Arkane's other games such as Dishonored, but a player controlling Julianna may temporarily turn up in your game to attempt to stop you in your tracks. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=deathloop-playstation-5-screenshots&captions=true"] If you're not a fan of multiplayer, game director Dinga Bakaba assures that Julianna can also be controlled by AI, so the game can be played purely solo. If you're a long-term fan of Arkane, the concept is similar to The Crossing, an asymmetrical multiplayer game the developer was working on but was sadly cancelled. Astro’s Playroom Announced For PS5

Astro's Playroom has been announced at the Sony PS5 reveal event. The game will come pre-loaded on every PS5. "Explore four worlds," reads a PlayStation Blog post, "each based on PS5’s console components. Each area showcases innovative gameplay that taps into the new features of the PS5’s DualSense wireless controller." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/11/astros-playroom-announcement-trailer-ps5-reveal-event"] The game is a new platformer featuring Astrobot, and the brief snippet of gameplay showed off a beach segment with plenty of classic style jumping and coin jumping. Hitman 3 Revealed for PS5

Hitman 3 will come to PS5 in January 2021. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/11/hitman-iii-announcement-trailer"] Revealed at the PS5 reveal event today, a cinematic trailer showed the trademark variety of global locations. This will act as a conclusion for the World of Assassination trilogy, and will release on both PS4 and PS5. It will also launch on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC at the same time. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=hitman-3-playstation-5-screenshots&captions=true"] A gameplay trailer showed Agent 47 amid a party in Dubai, supported by his Agency handler, Diana Burnwood. This time, Agent 47 will also join forces with his long-lost friend, Lucas Grey. Once again, missions will provide choice and repeatability, but developer IO says to expect a much darker tone and a sense of closure. Hitman 3 will feature six locations filled with creative opportunities, once again powered by the Glacier technology behind the previous games. That technology also means that Hitman 3 will act as a platform for the entire trilogy; players can import locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 and play the entire three-part campaign in one game. Ghostwire: Tokyo Reveals Gameplay Trailer for PS5

Tango Gameworks, Shinji Mikami's game studio, revealed the first gameplay trailer for Ghostwire: Tokyo at today's PS5 reveal event. It's a first-person spell-casting game where the player uses magic to fight demonic spirits. Ghostwire: Tokyo was first revealed by Bethesda during its annual E3 showcase last year. However, aside from a cinematic trailer gameplay details were not shared at that time. We now have a little extra information, as well as confirmation that the game will release for console exclusively on PS5, with a PC release, too, in 2021. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/11/ghostwire-tokyo-gameplay-trailer-ps5-reveal-event"] The PS Blog reveals that Tokyo is under siege from paranormal threats known as The Visitors. 99% of the city's population has disappeared, and it's up to players to be the city's salvation by using a toolset of upgradeable supernatural powers. The Visitors manifest in several guises, including Amewarashi, a child in a yellow raincoat, and Shiromuku, a bride who was unable to marry. These manifestations are rooted in strong emotions such as loss and separation, and each have unique attack styles and weaknesses. And beyond The Visitors, there are also a shadowy group wearing "Hannya” masks that must be investigated. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=ghostwire-tokyo-playstation-5-screenshots&captions=true"] Ghostwire: Tokyo will also make use of the PS5's 3D audio systems, which will be used to inject sounds you would not normally hear in a city realistically into the environment. Controller haptic feedback will also be used to help players feel the special abilities their character uses.
