Crash Bandicoot 4 Will Have Over 100 Levels & In-Game Purchases

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will feature over 100 levels and in-game purchases of some description. According to an email from GameStop received by fans, the forthcoming game will feature "100+ levels of play" as well as "new game modes" when it launches in October. For some perspective, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped had 32 levels including bosses and secrets. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/22/crash-bandicoot-4-first-gameplay-details"]. A Microsoft Store page for the game includes a little plus symbol next to the game's price tag, which suggests that the game "offers in-app purchases" of some kind. It's not clear how these will work, as of yet, but microtransactions were previously added to Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled in August 2019 as part of a post-launch update. In the racing spin-off, players could purchase Wumpa Coins using real-world money, with which they could buy cosmetics to trick out their kart. Given that Crash Bandicoot 4 is already offering pre-order skins for its lead characters, we could see a similar system here. MCU’s Anthony Mackie Criticizes Marvel Productions for Lack of Diversity

During a recent interview for Variety‘s "Actors on Actors," the MCU's Anthony Mackie talked to Snowpiercer's Daveed Diggs about the need for more diversity in Marvel movies. As the two discussed their recent projects, Mackie said "When The Falcon and the Winter Soldier comes out, I’m the lead. When Snowpiercer came out, you’re the lead. We have the power and the ability to ask those questions. It really bothered me that I’ve done seven Marvel movies where every producer, every director, every stunt person, every costume designer, every PA, every single person has been white." "We’ve had one Black producer. His name was Nate Moore. He produced Black Panther," Mackie continued. "But then when you do Black Panther, you have a Black director, Black producer, you have a Black costume designer, you have a Black stunt choreographer. And I’m like, that’s more racist than anything else. Because if you only can hire the Black people for the Black movie, are you saying they’re not good enough when you have a mostly white cast?" Concluding, Mackie added "My big push with Marvel is hire the best person for the job. Even if it means we’re going to get the best two women, we’re going to get the best two men. Fine. I’m cool with those numbers for the next 10 years. Because it starts to build a new generation of people who can put something on their resume to get them other jobs. If we’ve got to divvy out as a percentage, divvy it out. And that’s something as leading men that we can go in and push for." [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=from-iron-man-to-endgame-how-the-avengers-salaries-changed&captions=true"] A few months back, Mackie spoke more in depth about The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, stating that fans will be surprised how evolved the characters are on the upcoming Disney+ series. Aside from Mackie and co-star Sebastian Stan, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier also features the return of Daniel Bruhl's Zemo and Emily Van Camp's Sharon Carter, as well as Wyatt Russell as John Walker - aka U.S. Agent. Click here for a quick rundown of how Sam Wilson became Captain America in the comics, which seems to be what this series is angling to do given how Avengers: Endgame concluded. Watch Ryan Reynolds Butt Into an X-Men Cast Reunion Featuring Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart

Key cast members of the long-running X-Men franchise -- Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, and Famke Janssen -- recently reunited for a brief virtual chat to raise awareness for the Global Citizen: United For Our Future benefit concert to celebrate the heroic acts of healthcare and other essential workers. It wasn't long though before a call rang in, bringing Ryan Reynolds into the session (which made McKellen scram immediately). "I hope it's okay if I join," Reynolds says, noticing the awkwardness. "I figured we were all in X-Men together." Check out the clip here... [youtube clip_id="TvLnAZXznes"] After James McAvoy and Sophie Turner both enter the chat, Reynolds makes a remark about the multiple timelines and then adds "It's just like the X-Men movies. It doesn't matter." Make sure you watch all the way to the end for a hilarious final guest. In Deadpool 3 news, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently said that he thinks, with Disney's acquisition of Fox, that the Deadpool movies have "set sail" and that Marvel Studios had "zero" plans to make a third film. Back in May, Reynolds offered up his own thoughts as to whether Disney and Deadpool were a good fit. This Netflix Movie Gave Sherlock Holmes Too Many Emotions So It’s Being Sued

The upcoming Netflix film Enola Holmes, which is based on the book series by Nancy Springer, is being sued by the Conan Doyle Estate for copyright infringement and trademark violations. The movie, which stars Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown as Sherlock Holmes' adventurous sister Enola, is not a part of official Sherlock Holmes canon though it does feature the character of Sherlock Holmes, here played by The Witcher and DCEU's Henry Cavill. The lawsuit targets Netflix, Legendary Pictures, Penguin Random House and others, including author Nancy Springer, according to THR. In 2014, it was ruled that all the Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes stories written before 1923 were public domain, so the Conan Doyle Estate only has a claim to the last 10 original stories written between 1923 and 1927. Here's where it gets interesting though. The lawsuit "alleges that the difference between the public domain stories and the copyrighted ones is emotions." Meaning, the stories the Estate owns are the later stories where Sherlock Holmes actually shows emotion. After losing both his son and brother, Sherlock Holmes became "warmer" in the final stories. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=netflix-spotlight-july-2020&captions=true"] Does this mean that any project that features a more emotional and warm Sherlock Holmes would violate a copyright? Can an estate lay claim to a character's emotions? This would mean that any Sherlock Holmes that isn't cold and unemotional would be in violation. The complaint states that Henry Cavill's Sherlock, in the film, is based on character traits that are owned by the Estate. In 2015, the Estate sued Miramax over Mr. Holmes and that case was eventually settled, though that lawsuit was regarding the movie dealing with Sherlock Holmes' retirement, which is only part of his final stories. Enola Holmes, which is due on Netflix in September, also stars Sam Claflin as Mycroft Holmes and Helena Bonham Carter as matriarch Eudoria Holmes. Pokemon Sword And Shield – The Isle Of Armor DLC Review

One of the best parts of Pokemon Sword and Shield was exploring the Wild Area, an expanse of rolling hills, sand dunes, and lakes that made collecting the games' 400 Pokemon especially enticing. The first DLC for the games, The Isle of Armor, improves upon the original Wild Area--in fact, the island is all Wild Area, with far more variety and much more interesting locales to explore. While it doesn't alter the game much, The Isle of Armor recaptures the joy of exploration and catching new Pokemon, and it makes me especially eager to see where the next DLC takes us.

In my original Pokemon Sword and Shield review, I said that "the Wild Area is the show-stopping feature of this generation. Pokemon roam the fields and lakes, changing with the day's weather. They pop up as you walk by, and you can even identify Pokemon out of your direct line of vision by their cries. It's all too easy to set out for one destination only to be distracted by a Pokemon you haven't caught yet, an item glittering on the ground in the distance, or even an evolved form of a Pokemon that you didn't realize you could catch in the wild. There's constantly something new to do or discover, and it's there to engage you right out of the gate."

The Isle of Armor doubles down on this. The island is bigger and better than the regular Wild Area, and its various biomes all feed into each other more naturally. Open fields transition to wetlands, which border a beach and a forest. Rivers flow out to the ocean, and following a river can sometimes lead you to a cave. Changing weather patterns make more sense than they do in the Galar region's main Wild Area, too, where weather shifts seemingly at random as you bike through similar-looking fields. Instead, because most areas on the Isle of Armor are separated by rivers or caves, the transition from rain to sunshine to fog isn't so abrupt. It's overall an even more satisfying place to explore.

Bill and Ted 3 Pushed Back Because of Tenet Delay

Following the news that Christopher Nolan's Tenet has been delayed again due to the surge in COVID-19 cases -- with the time-bending spy thriller starring John David Washington and Robert Pattinson now moved to August 12 -- it's being reported that Bill and Ted Face the Music, the decades-later threequel, has been pushed to the end of August. Per Variety, Bill and Ted 3 is now set to release in theaters on August 28 so as to not compete with Tenet. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=bill-and-ted-face-the-music-first-look&captions=true"] Bill and Ted Face the Music follows the titular duo of dudes -- played by the returning Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter -- who are now middle-aged and dealing with real-life family responsibilities, still trying to write the greatest song ever made in order to unite all of humanity in harmony. Recently, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter joined the 2020 Graduation Commencement at San Dimas High School (the home of Bill & Ted) to congratulate the graduating class and remind them to be excellent to each other. Kratos Creator Shares Early Concept Art for Marvel’s Thor Movie

Charlie Wen, creator of God of War’s Kratos and co-founder of Marvel Studios’ Visual Development, released some fun early concept art for Thor on Instagram and Twitter this past week. Wen, whose creations and worlds can been seen in Marvel’s The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and League of Legends, introduced the piece with "here’s a throwback to the very first #thor I had done. It was at Marvel Studio’s infancy, directly after Iron Man 1 -- I had a meeting the next morning with Kevin Feige to talk about designing a Marvel Cinematic Universe." "I was so nerve-racked," Wen wrote on Instagram, "I decided to paint my first Thor (which I included in the meeting;)." Check out the image from Twitter here... Wen concluded with "You can see how this very first Thor image still had bits left over from spending 6 years developing the fantasy look of the #godofwar games. but even then, I really thought the Celtic knotting and interweaving shapes were working well, so I was super happy to be able to work those elements into the final #thor #designs for the films:)" With Phase 4's first movie Black Widow moved to November (for now), one dedicated Marvel superfan used their time in quarantine to create a comprehensive list of every single MCU scene, arranged in chronological order. Thor: Love and Thunder was initially scheduled for release on Nov. 5, 2021, but the recent release date changes for Marvel's Phase 4 have pushed it back to Feb. 28, 2022. Director Taika Waititi has previously described Love and Thunder as "doubling down on how nuts Ragnarok was." Family Guy and The Simpsons Recast Major Black Characters

Update: Both Family Guy and The Simpsons have recast key roles heading into the fall TV season, as the two animated sitcoms work to end the trend of having white actors voicing non-white characters. Variety reports comedian and YouTube star Arif Zahir will be taking over the role of Cleveland Brown from Mike Henry. Zahir actually rose to prominence in part due to his spot-on impersonation of Henry's Cleveland voice, so fans might not even notice a difference. Given the long lead time on Family Guy's production, though, it's expected that Henry will continue to voice Cleveland for most or all of Family Guy: Season 18 before the recasting takes effect. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=fall-tv-preview-2020-new-and-returning-shows-to-watch&captions=true"] The Simpsons will be making a major recasting much sooner, however. Yahoo reports the Season 32 premiere (which airs Sunday, September 27) will feature a new actor voicing Homer's coworker Carl Carlson. Alex Désert (Better Things) is taking over the role from Hank Azaria, though it's unclear whether Désert is the permanent new voice actor for Carl and how many of Springfield's other minority residents will be recast in Season 32. As reportedly previously, Azaria is also stepping down from the role of Apu. The original story is below: [poilib element="accentDivider"] Family Guy fans can expect a big change in the show's upcoming 19th season. Voice actor Mike Henry announced he'll no longer be playing the role of Cleveland Brown on the long-running animated sitcom. Henry made the announcement via Twitter, saying, "I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role." Henry has been a mainstay of the series since its debut in 1999, serving as a writer and co-producer as well as voicing several other recurring characters like Herbert and Consuela. Henry also co-created the spinoff series The Cleveland Show, which ran for four seasons from 2009 to 2013. Fellow Fox series The Simpsons will be undergoing similar changes in the near future. Fox released a statement declaring "Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters.” Both announcements come as more and more scrutiny is being directed toward animated projects that feature white actors voicing characters of color. Earlier this year, The Simpsons' Hank Azaria stepped down from his decades-long role as Apu, in response to criticisms raised by Hari Kondabolu's 2017 documentary The Problem With Apu. Family Guy executive producers Rich Appel and Alex Sulkin also announced in 2019 the series would begin phasing out gay jokes. It's unclear when exactly Family Guy's Cleveland overhaul will take effect or how far along the recasting process is. Given the show's long production lead time, it's likely Henry has recorded dialogue for at least some Season 19 episodes. That said, it's entirely possible those lines will be re-recorded when a new actor is cast. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-25-best-adult-cartoon-tv-series&captions=true"] For more on Family Guy's long history on the air, check out IGN's Top 20 Family Guy episodes. Dr DisRespect Tweets For the First Time After Twitch Ban

Update 6/27 7:14 pm PT: Beahm aka Dr Disrespect has tweeted publicly for the first time since news of his ban from Twitch surfaced. In his first public tweets since the incident, Dr Disrespect writes that "Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision... Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time." drd Beahm's tweets don't clarify the situation on why he was banned in the first place, and seems to claim that Twitch has not made the reason known to Dr Disrespect either. Original story continues... [poilib element="accentDivider"] Guy Beahm, better known as the streamer Dr Disrespect has been banned from the streaming service Twitch on Friday. Dr Disrespect’s channel, which previously had over 4 million followers, no longer appears to be available on the service. News of Dr Disrespect's ban was first announced via @StreamerBans, an automated Twitter account that tracks when streamers have been banned from Twitch. What was immediately strange about the situation was the secrecy behind the reason for Dr Disrespect's ban. Twitch reporters like Rod Breslau went as far as to say that while the ban is permanent, they're reluctant to share the reason why because of the "importance and sensitivity" of the matter. Twitch has not announced the reason for Dr Disrespect’s most recent ban, and it’s unclear how long the ban will last. Beahm was previously banned in July 2019 after he was caught filming from the LA Convention Center bathrooms during E3 2019. Since he began streaming in 2015 Dr Disrespect has grown into one of Twitch's biggest personalities. He broke out by streaming games like H1Z1 before exploding in popularity thanks to PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Dr Disrespect currently streams a variety of competitive battle royale games including Call of Duty: Warzone and Fortnite.

[widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=every-ign-call-of-duty-review&captions=true"]

What’s even more surprising is that earlier this year Dr Disrespect signed an exclusive, multi-year deal with Twitch reportedly worth millions of dollars. But now, a few months after the deal was announced, Twitch seems to have banned the popular streamer. IGN has reached out to Twitch for a statement, but the company provided no specific reason for the ban. Instead, Twitch provided the following statement:
“As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community.”
Dr DisRespect has not addressed his ban on social media, though he was streaming as early as yesterday. IGN will update the story as the situation develops. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Matt Kim is a reporter for IGN.
