Check Out the Art of Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Ahead of the studio's next release, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Toys for Bob has unleashed The Art of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, a thorough art book that also delves into the process of reimagining the classic trilogy of Spyro adventures. Check out the gallery below for a selection of pages from the book, which features a look at the gorgeous character and world art from the Reignited Trilogy and is now available for purchase. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-art-of-spyro-reignited-trilogy&captions=true"] "Making Spyro Reignited Trilogy was a leap of faith - full of exhilaration, hope, wonder, fear, and doubt," art director Josh Nadelberg writes in the book's introduction. "We had the most delightful source material to work from that anyone could possibly imagine, an amazingly talented team, and an organization who believed in us and supported us every step of the way. But more than anything, we knew that we were working on something that was going to mean so much to people whose memories of Spyro were formative and profound." The book is full of insights into character and world design choices, the process of creating Spyro himself, and explanation for many of the choices the artists made in adapting those PS One characters for a new life on modern consoles. Nadelberg, Nicholas Kole, Serina Mo, and more artists offer insight alongside the art, which spans across all three games in the Reignited Trilogy. In our Spyro Reignited Trilogy review, I praised the artistry of the worlds, which in many ways brought characters and locations to life in unexpected ways. Every dragon Spyro rescues in the original Spyro the Dragon is now a unique character, while everything from the Summer Forest of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage to the Evening Lake of Spyro: Year of the Dragon has been modernized with a host of new details. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2018/11/12/spyro-reignited-trilogy-review"] For more on Toys for Bob's latest, be sure to check out all the reveal info we learned about Crash Bandicoot 4's gameplay and story, take a look at an extended bit of gameplay, and know that the developers have confirmed Crash Bandicoot 4 won't have microtransactions. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Is The Spiritual Successor To Jet Set Radio

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio has been officially revealed. Cyberfunk will even feature music composed by Jet Set Radio maestro Hideki Naganuma, further linking the two series. Cyberfunk was revealed on Twitter today by Team Reptile, the developer behind Lethal League Blaze and Megabyte Punch. "Start your own cypher and dance, paint, trick, face off with the cops and stake your claim to the extrusions and cavities of a sprawling metropolis in an alternate future set to he musical brainwaves of Hideki Naganuma," the game's Steam page reads. According to the description, each stage will be a "neighborhood that represents one time of day" and the game will be "focused on single-player." The music for the game will be provided by Hideki Naganuma, the esteemed composer behind the Jet Set Radio games, also known for his work on Sonic Rush, Ollie King, and many more. His trademark style can be heard in the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk sting, which gives us our first glimpse at the game's stylish world. We haven't had a new Jet Set Radio game for 18 years, and fans have been clamoring for a revival ever since. In absence of SEGA's interest in reviving the series, indie developers have kept the Jet Set spirit alive, with Team Reptile's previous games - such as Lethal League - and other indie titles such as Rocket Juice Game's Neon Tail evoking the Jet Set Radio style, albeit across different genres and settings. There is no solid release date or platforms listed as of right now, but Team Reptile plans to launch Bomb Rush Cyberfunk in the Jet Set Radio "Future." How apt. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Jordan Oloman is a freelance writer for IGN, and if you click his byline you'll see that he has wanted a JSR revival for years. This successor couldn't be in safer hands. Follow him on Twitter.

Ubisoft’s Next-Gen 2020 Launches Will Be $60, But Doesn’t Rule Out Future Price Increase

During Ubisoft's Q1 2020-21 earnings call, it confirmed that its Fall 2020 games, including Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin's Creed Valhalla, will be $60 USD when they launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot specifically mentions the games scheduled for release this holiday, potentially leaving the door open for a price increase. Ubisoft Yves Guillemot was responding to a question and said "For the Christmas games, we plan to come with the same price as the previous generation of consoles. That's what we're focused on at the moment." Later in the call, he reiterated the $60 price, but did not commit to saying all future next-gen games would be $60. "We said earlier that for the $60 price, we are concentrating on the Christmas releases, and those games will launch at $60." [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/12/assassins-creed-valhalla-hands-on"] This move by Ubisoft differs from 2K's decision to make NBA 2K21 $70 USD on PS5 and Xbox Series X, as opposed to the $60 price tag on current-gen systems. This news also arrives alongside Ubisoft's commitment to implement "major changes" to the company following the series of abuse and misconduct allegations against some of its employees. During the earnings call, Ubisoft reported that it had a record first quarter with "significantly higher-than expected performance led by the depth of the Group's catalog, quality of its Live services and historically high engagement levels." Ubisoft had record net bookings of "€410.0 million (~$474 million USD), far exceeding the Group’s target of around €335.0 million (~$388 million USD)" [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/12/watch-dogs-legion-hands-on-a-world-worth-exploring"] Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 17, 2020. We know it will be a launch title for PS5 and Xbox Series X, but we have yet to learn the launch date of either next-gen system. Watch Dogs Legion will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC on October 29, 2020. [poilib element="accentDivider"] Have a tip for us? Want to discuss a possible story? Family Guy: Exclusive Preview of Fox’s Comic-Con@Home Panel

Family Guy has long been a fixture at Comic-Con, and that hasn't changed even with this year's all-digital Comic-Con@Home event. Fox will be streaming a panel featuring many of the stars and producers of the series, including creator Seth MacFarlane and actors Alex Borstein, Seth Green and Mila Kunis. The Family Guy panel will be featured on IGN's Comic-Con@Home livestream at 2pm PT on Saturday, July 25. Check out our full Comic-Con 2020 panel schedule. IGN can exclusively reveal that Family Guy Season 19 will debut on September 27, 2020. We also have a clip from the Comic-Con@Home panel. Check it out in the embed below or the video player above: [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/07/22/family-guy-exclusive-preview-of-the-comic-conhome-panel"] The clip features MacFarlane and Borstein reflecting on which episodes from Family Guy's 18-season run are their favorites. MacFarlane points to the Season 9's Agatha Christie-spoofing "And Then There Were Fewer" (which placed #12 on our countdown of the Top 20 Family Guy episodes). Borstein, however, seems to favor specific moments and lines over entire episodes. We'll have to wait and see what other topics are covered during the panel, but no doubt we'll see clips of the upcoming 19th season. Hopefully the cast and crew will address the recent news that voice actor Mike Henry is stepping down from his role as Cleveland Brown. Henry tweeted, "It’s been an honor to play Cleveland on Family Guy for 20 years. I love this character, but persons of color should play characters of color. Therefore, I will be stepping down from the role." The Simpsons is making similar moves. Fox released a statement declaring "Moving forward, The Simpsons will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters.” We'll be interested to see how MacFarlane and his collaborators feel about this major change to such a long-running series. The Family Guy panel will stream on Saturday, July 25 at 2pm PT.
