Hideo Kojima has spoken to horror mangaka Junji Ito about a horror-based game that he may be working on. As reported by ComicBook.com, Ito was being interviewed by Viz Media during Comic-Con@Home 2020 and was asked if he was currently involved in any video game development. Ito, who was working with Kojima and Guillermo del Toro on the canceled Silent Hills project and made a cameo in Death Stranding, confirmed he was in talks about a potential new horror project and Kojima invited him to work on it. While this vague answer doesn't confirm that Kojima's next project will be a horror game, it is great to see he is still trying to work with Ito after the promise of what could have been for Silent Hills. Kojima recently revealed that a "big project" was recently scrapped, and that his next game would not be anything related to Metal Gear Solid or P.T. A recent leak of Nintendo source code has potentially revealed some long-kept development secrets of some of our favorite Nintendo classics, including that Luigi was planned to be playable in Super Mario 64. Luigi's possible inclusion in Super Mario 64 was part of a much larger leak of Nintendo data on such games as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Star Fox 2, Super Mario Kart, and more. As reported by VGC, there was an early build of Super Mario 64 called "Ultra 64 Mario Brothers" and it contains files that reference Luigi. Modders have taken these files and have begun recreating Mario's brother and the results are pretty great. First up is an image from @CometMedal with Luigi's head on Mario's body, which could also have been a horror game in some alternate universe. @SpangleZeKankle then shared the completed model of what Luigi would have looked like in Super Mario 64. This isn't the first time we've heard that Luigi was going to be playable in Super Mario 64, as Shigeru Miyamoto had previously stated that Nintendo was planning on including him in a "Mario Bros. style minigame, but because most users probably only have that one controller when they first buy their N64, for that reason (and others) we decided not to." Luigi being planned for Super Mario 64 was only one small part of the leak. Other users have found an early Kokiri Forest and Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a prototype for Yoshi, uncompressed audio from the original "Do a Barrel Roll" line from Star Fox 64, and so much more. Olivia de Havilland, the two-time Oscar winner that starred in such films as Gone With the Wind, The Adventures of Robin Hood, The Snake Pit, and The Heiress, has died at the age of 104. As reported by THR, De Havilland, who was the last remaining star of Gone With the Wind, passed away on July 26, 2020, from natural causes at her home in Paris, where she had lived for more than 60 years. Her publicist Lisa Goldberg announced the news. The legendary star won her best actress Oscar awards for 1946's To Each His Own and 1949's The Heiress. Her first Oscar nomination was for supporting actress in Gone With the Wind, but she lost to co-star Hattie McDaniel. Besides her incredible career in acting, De Havilland also made an even greater impact on Hollywood with what is now known in legal circles as The De Havilland Decision. In 1943, she came away from the soundstage when she sued Warner Bros. to gain freedom after her seven-year contract had expired. Back in those days, Hollywood lawyers would say that a contract should be considered suspended when the actor/actress was not working, meaning a seven-year contract would last much longer than that. De Havilland, took issue when the Warners tried to prolong her contract following her being suspended for rejecting roles she deemed inferior to where she was in her career. She sued the studio and, in 1945, won the case and became free from her contract and ensured that future artists would be limited to the calendar terms of their deals. “I was deeply gratified when, returning to MGM after his long and distinguished military service, Jimmy Stewart asked the court on the basis of that decision for a ruling on his contract — and thus the contracts of other actor-veterans — and received, of course, a favorable verdict,” de Havilland said in a 1992 interview with Screen Actor. “When I won the final round of my case on Feb. 3, 1945, every actor was now confirmed as free of his long-term contract at the end of its seven-year term, regardless of how many suspensions he had taken during those seven years. No one thought I would win, but after I did, flowers, letters and telegrams arrived from my fellow actors. This was wonderfully rewarding.” Olivia Mary de Havilland was born in Tokyo, Japan, on July 1, 1916, and she moved to California with her mother and sister when she was three years old. She went to Mills College in Oakland, and was signed to her first film by Max Reinhardt after performing in a Hollywood Bowl production of Midummer Night's Dream. Her sister, Joan Fontaine, was also an Academy Award-winning actress and died in December 2013 at the age of 96. Today at Justice Con, Justice League director Zack Snyder stated that he refuses to use even a "single frame" from Joss Whedon's reshoots of the film for his Snyder Cut - which is headed to HBO Max in 2021. Snyder emphatically said that he'd "literally blow that f***ing thing up" before using any of Whedon's footage, stating too that the theatrical version of the film from 2017, which Whedon oversaw the extensive reshoots on, was "separate" from the DCEU timeline. "There would be no chance on Earth that I would use a shot from after I left the movie," he shared. "I would destroy the movie, I would set it on fire, before I use a single frame that I did not photograph," Snyder explained. "That is a f***ing hard fact." Family Guy fans got their first look at the show's upcoming 19th Season thanks to Fox's Family Guy panel at Comic-Con@Home. The series will continue spoofing all corners of the pop culture universe, including a hilariously gross parody of an iconic X-Men movie scene. Following the panel, Fox tweeted out a sizzle reel of footage from several Season 19 episodes, including the aforementioned X-Men: Days of Future Past gag. [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=the-25-best-adult-cartoon-tv-series&captions=true"] The scene recreates that iconic moment from Days of Future Past when Evan Peters' Quicksilver springs to action to save his new friends from certain death. In this case, Meg is called upon to save her family from Chris' disgusting sneeze cloud. Fittingly, the original needle drop from Days of Future Past, Jim Croce's "Time In a Bottle," is replaced with The Cranberries' "Ode to My Family." Also fittingly, Meg seizes the opportunity to prank the others rather than save them from the blast, earning a tiny slice of revenge for being the show's designated punching bag for the past 21 years. This scene and others in the sizzle reel suggest one Season 19 episode will be dealing with a dangerous new strain of flu in Quahog. Whether planned or just a lucky coincidence, Family Guy may wind up being among the first animated sitcoms to capitalize on the COVID-19 pandemic. The sizzle reel also teases a Godfather-inspired episode, with Peter crowning himself the town's newest mafioso and Chris being forced to flee to Italy, a la Michael Corleone. Other teased storylines include Stewie breaking up with his stuffed animal Rupert and Brian discovering he has 1% cat DNA.
